September Ducks are Flying Towards Fall

Hey Everyone!
and just a quick check in.... Bryan is ok, but has no computer :( he'll check in soon! ttyl - Liz

Hi, Liz...thanks for checking in! Also, I know you had emailed some training totals to Brian at one point, feel free to keep doing that or pm them to me if you don't have time to post! We'll keep ya covered.

Good job everyone! Samsam, you are cracking me up about summer. I totally agree that time is flying by and I can't believe it is September, but we have had way more than our share of summer here in TX this year for sure!

I'll be working on the spreadsheet probably tonight. Been a crazy last couple of weeks, as I re-injured my shoulder. yes, the one I had surgery on last fall. I have been worried for over 10 days that I re-tore my rotator cuff, but it doesn't look too bad on the MRI I got yesterday, though there is a fair amount of fluid in the joint, so it's mad about something! Will see my ortho tomorrow and hopefully still be ok to go ahead at least with my running, biking, and swimming (though I anticipate a little less swimming for a while).

You guys all rock! Keep those posts coming, and keep MOVING!!!

:thumbsup2

Hey Team!! I am borrowing my parent's computer so I can get on here to post. My computer has stopped temporarily but I am hoping that I will be able to get it resolved shortly. Will keep you updated to the best of my ability.

I don't remember if I posted my times for the last week of last month or not so here they are, just in case.

Miles - 110
Hours - 12.25

Liz's Totals for the month are:

Miles - 48
Hours - 18 hours

My time for the first week of September:

Miles - 70
Hours - 9.75

Liz's:

Miles - 12
Hours - 4

Will be back soon. Very soon, I hope. I am going to try to hook up an old computer at the house and see if I can get on that way. Hope everyone is having a fantastic month!! Tricia, it is great to see you here!!

Thanks everyone!
Bryan:woohoo::yay::cheer2::grouphug:

Prayers to you that your shoulder will heal quickly!

Hello my duckies. Just thought I'd waddle in, with my feathered tail between my legs to say hi. Life, the uiniverse, and everything has taken over, but I've been doing what I can to get some steps in here and there, and thinkign of you all.

Now that school has started and the boys and I are all back on a more regular schedule, I am hoping things will settle down and I'll get my miles back up. I pretty much have to, seeing as how i am already behind in my goofy training. Of course, i am starting off with a beastly cold this week, pushing me even farther behind.

anyhow, hope all of you have been having a good summer! Hope to see you around a little more often...

I was LOST myself :) Hey Duck I'm back to a computer. I lost my work one when I got laid off end of July. Then my home one broke in Mid August, But now I have a nice new fast one :yay: LOVING IT !!! I have not reported anything since August 7th. But I was out running some, so here is the deal.

August
7- 14th 39.4 Miles ( had a 12.2 mile race & I did well) 225 min
15- 21 9 miles 7 hours - Hiked up Mt Lincoln in NH
22-31 45.75 miles 430 min - I did a 20 miler :)
Sept
1-7 27.6 miles 248 min

That gets me up to date. I am still lookong at running a fall marathon so I will be pushing up the miles. I am thinking about the one in Indy on Nov 7th any other Ducks do that one ??

I had a ton of posts to read and it looks like the team is doing GREAT. Not to many problems and some people look like they are having FUN. Have a great week.

Dave

September 1-7
17 miles
270 minutes

Anyone getting ready to begin half training?

Ronda

Just thought I would sneak in on the Ducks and let you all know...
(and since he doesn't have a computer handy, hehe)

Bryan did a 5K this morning and got a PR of 31 minutes!!! Not sure if he was gonna be able to post it, so I wanted to let you all know!!
:cool1: :thumbsup2  :scared1: :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

Cool!

SamSam...thanks for the good thoughts on the shoulder. :goodvibes I am happy to report that I did not re-tear my rotator cuff. There is some inflammation, so I am to take Advil, do some PT (exercises I learned after my surgery last year), and I don't need more surgery. yay!!!

But...I didn't get much done last week. Maybe more running would have eased my worries.

Catching up for Sept. 1-7:
running 11.3 miles/ 2:05
PT/core :25

Total 11.3/2:30

Week of Sept 8-14 won't be much better, but I am going to try to run after my travel all day tomorrow to add more miles. Plus, see my sig line. That marathon is going to come up quickly! In my head, I "justified" not running because a) it hurt my arm with the jostling, and b) I thought I was going to have to cancel the Goofy weekend. But all is good now!

Big Vic
...nice to see you building right back up on schedule!

Hey Mickey....your space is still there on the spreadsheet, and I can plug in totals at any time! Welcome back!

Augie...I do contract work in the medical field, filling in for people's vacations or if a group is short-handed. I don't work where I live at all...so am on the road about 24-30 weeks a year (not counting fun vacations). It's a challenge, considering my "athletic" aspirations. But it does make life interesting! Off to Alaska in the morning. :cool2:

Spreadsheet is updated for now....will get the Sept. 8-14 totals in quicker, I promise!

Good Morning Ducks! Hard to fathom that we are at the half way point of September already.

We had a lot of rainy days last week, so I missed a few work commutes. But did do a 50 mile club ride on Sunday. So I have 100 miles and 6 hours for the period of the 8th through the 14th.

Liz, good to hear from you. How are your NY guests? And hello to fellow LI'er Erica! Are you planning on the Railroad Earth concert in the city next month? Betsy, sounds like an interesting job. Traveling can take its toll.....

Have a great week, everyone!

Augie

I was glad to see Hey Mickey back like Me !! I am doing nothing but running now since I signed up for the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on Nov 7th. I have been watching airfare and it came down. FYI, I just got the cheapest flight ever to Disney for Jan on Southwest. $49 bucks each way from Boston. Take a look !!

Sept 8-14

41.15 Miles for 315 min

4.2 of this was a race and I did double milage in the total. I have run this thristy Thursday night race 11 times now (once per month) and I final set my PR the other day :cool1:

Hope all is well with everyone else out in Duckland

Dave

Betsy hope your shoulder heals stinks working through injuries while training.

Dave lucky you airfare out of Cleveland has been around 250 to Orlando. DW and I are flying out of Akron about 40 minutes from our house at 160 a piece and are happy with that.

Miles 7-14
Running
52.5 miles
8.20 hours

Biking
110 miles
10.50 hours

Have a great week everyone Rich.

Hello Duckies! :goodvibes

9 days till Expedition Everest Challange!!!! I'm very excited to be participating in it. I'm a little worried about the scavenger hunt part though, Dh and I aren't very good at that type of thing but I'm sure we'll fun anyway.

Week ending 9-14:

353 minutes 27 miles

Quack, quack!!

Hi, Ducks!

Pleased to report that I don't need another surgery on my shoulder! :cool1: and I was able to swim a tiny bit last night. Good thing, because my last tri of the season (competing---still volunteering at one in Oct) is on Sunday. So thanks to all for the good wishes! :grouphug:

Augie...yeah, I have fun, but getting consistent training when I'm on the road 26+ weeks a year is a challenge, that is for sure!

Everyone looks like they are building up nicely!
Brian, congrats on the PR from last week! :thumbsup2

My week of Sept. 8-14:
bike: 11.4 miles/1:00
run: 13.3 miles/2:45
PT/core: 0:30

Total: 24.7 miles/4:15

Spreadsheet is updated....keep those quacks coming!! :rotfl:

SamSam...good luck at EE!!

Thanks Betsy, I'll be thinking of the Triple D's during the run.:goodvibes

Good morning Ducks! I am stuck inside all day, so might as well do the 15th-21st now...

September 15-21
minutes 220
miles 23

Did the zoo run this weekend and felt good about 13:00. There are more hills in the zoo than I realized...

Ronda

It's been a long time since I've stopped by for a quick quack-out to my duck buddies! I'm sending you a new teammate, eyor44/Lisa, who will be doing this year's 5K and 1/2. I'm sure you'll welcome her with open wings! :lmao:
