Has anyone had their weddingin disney during early september? I was looking forward to outside photos and hopefully an outside ceremony - but am unsure about the unpredictability of the weather? last year when we went we found the sky was clear all morning - then come afternoon rain began? if we have a morning ceremony - say 11 what could we / the guests do during the day (was hoping to go for dinner around 5 following by wishes cruise) any ideas? thanks

Hi there ... we are having ours on the 15th September ... not long now :woohoo:

We are having a 5pm ceremony in the Wedding Pavillion but are having photos before & after - crossing my fingers about the weather :worship:

Ours was September 20 (so not early in the month) but we had our ceremony at 11am at SBP.

It was cloudy that morning and threatening rain. It didn't actually rain until after our ceremony (at about 12:30) so we were able to get lots of pictures outside and inside the Boardwalk.

Mostly it was just HOT and HUMID. So while I can understand wanting outside pictures, be aware that if you are wearing a full wedding gown it can be really hot and uncomfortable you may want to be inside more!:rotfl:

Try not to worry about the weather too much...yes its unpredictable but that's true everywhere!

As for what you can do...we ended up going to Hollywood studios for a couple of hours between our ceremony and dinner (at 7pm).

Depending on where you are having your ceremony and how many guests you are having you can go to a park for a few hours, you can decide to spend a little time just relaxing and "soaking" in the experience, taking pictures with each other (and families), or even let your guests decide what they want to do (wander through resorts, etc) and just have them meet you later.

I'm sure some other brides will have other ideas for you!

I got married Sept. 22, but I live 1 1/2 hrs away. Pretty much may-nov. it rains almost every day. Normally it lasts 20 minutes and goes away. It started to sprinkle while we were taking pics outside before our 2:30p ceremony, but stopped in about 5 minutes, and didn't rain again until that night around 8pm(it was pouring when we tried to get from The LS salon to the buses, but they did bring in a huge stack of those $14 ponchos for free:thumbsup2 ), but that too only lasted about 30 minutes.

Just from a Hurricane standpoint, most tropical storms in September (in the past 10 years) go into the Gulf a la Ike :sad1: (My thoughts and prayers go out to those in the affected areas btw). However, having said this, September is the most active time for tropical storms. Check out this chart.

Number of recorded storms affecting Florida: January - 0, February -1, March-0, April-1, May-9, June - 50, July -35, August - 95, September - 160, October - 116, November - 16, December -2 (from NOAA's website)

The most recent landfalling September hurricanes above a Cat 3 to hit Florida were both in 2004 - Jeanne and Ivan. Neither of these were near Orlando. Orlando itself has gone 43 years without a direct hit. Checkout this website for more information on Orlando and Hurricanes. http://www.cfhf.net/orlando/hurricane.htm

As far as climatology, check out this site for information on daily high temperatures, humidity and days with rain. http://www.kingdommagictravel.com/disneyworld/weather.htm

It pays to be getting married to a weather geek. And if you have any specific questions - shoot me a PM and I'll ask the weather geek myself. :) I told him he should make a weather page for WDW for DISBrides on his website.
