September airfare deals

I need help finding an airfare deal for 1 adult from SDF to MCO for September 2015.

Here's what happened. Southwest had a deal for $99 each way from SDF to MCO , making it $198 in total, I had my heart set to buy. However, things happened, I thought the trip was off so no airplane ticket was purchased. Now, the price has gone up to about $300 round trip.

What should I go? Should I buy the airfare now or should I wait for a better deal? Will there be a better deal, do you think? I'd prefer to buy Southwest because I have gift cards and will need the 2 free checked bags but if you know of deals from other airline, please let me know. Thanks!

I would purchase it and then check often. You can rebook and get the difference in a credit good for a year. I book what I am willing to pay and then check back. Sometimes I only get one way cheaper and the opposite never changes but hey, you never know. This trip I checked twice and save money each time.

Thanks, disneylove69, I regret not booking those flights when it was $99 but there’s no use crying over spilled milk. The $128 option being non-stop flight also makes me feel somewhat better

I am in the same boat. I will be there in September too and our flight down on a Monday from STL was $99 so I bought it, but my flight back from Orlando the following monday has NEVER BEEN ON SALE!!! It is $183 one way. That is crazy high for STL to MCO, but i'm getting nervous that it won't go down. I also only fly every few years, so if I would buy and then it would go cheaper, I would just lose the savings anyway

Watching for a better deal too. Got my tix down but haven't bought ticket home. We are flying home on a Wednesday which is usually one of the days that generally have sales. I have 3 airports to choose from. Maybe there will be a sale over the 4th holiday coming up.
