September 30, 2012 - "To San Francisco and Beyond"

I confimed this schedule with Disney a few days ago.. they say it correct, but tentative :confused3

If it was me, I'd hold onto my Palo reservation until I was onboard and see if you can swap it. We've had good luck getting a table even when we were "wait listed" when we went to sign up right after boarding. DH dropping by Palo a few time to check didn't hurt either... I have an awesome DH

I was reading somewhere on the DIS that there is a heavy percentage of Palo reservation held back for onboard reservations. I think they like call your cabin and give you the good new that the pixie dust worked :tinker:

I went ahead and cancelled just in case someone else was trying. My sister had a good point though. Maybe they serve lobster in Palo on lobster night!! LOL

I'm actually ok with it because we booked brunch too. I always hate missing dinner with our regular waiters and our kids anyway so DH and I will just go have a cocktail before dinner for a date and then also our brunch.

We may try and book a night on board too. We shall see. My MIL is traveling with us so she would have had to dine by herself with our kids anyway.

I see on other threads that some of the Pixar cruises are having changes to the itinerary...

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
Sept 23th cruise - Pirate Deck Party is while we're in SF, no fireworks?
Oct 7th cruise - Pirate Deck Party - Day 3, Tuesday, Oct 9 San Francisco CA

I just check our reservation / cruise itinerary, it now shows "Pirate Deck Party" as an activity on Friday (San Diego). Whew!!

Interesting that DCL would do it differently on cruises that are B2B ?

Lise

That is strange. I also thought it was weird that The Golden Mickeys weren't on the first night. Will we be at sale during the Pirate Party and fireworks? Last cruise we could see them from our verandah. Our kids can never stay awake for it. This year we may get to go because we can leave the kids with our MIL since we have connecting rooms.

I'm starting to get more excited about this cruise. Even though the itinerary isn't exotic, we will still be on a Disney cruise. I love that part of it the best anyway.

My bestie works as sales manager for the Ayres Hotel. She sent me a list of the transportation companies their hotel uses. They were all pretty reasonable and I spoke to a live person. We decided to just drive our car and leave it at the port.

If anyone wants the list, PM me and I can forward it to you or send me your email and I'll forward

As a local, living about 54 mi. from the Port of L.A. in San Pedro, we usually drive up and park at the port which is $12 a day when we didit last April, but there was talk of that being raised to $15 a day.

When we fly out of LAX, we always use Super Shuttle which is very reliable and always seem to be around in LAX, and also at the port.

Change in Pirate Night, Huh?pirate:

Wenuwish....I used to be able to post pictures using my old AOL by just clicking on the little postcard up on the toolbar of the reply post window which I am typing in now. I'd use a Photobucket url or something from my computer....but can't do that anymore with my new computer and new aol.
Need a little more instruction as to how you use tinypic.com.....thanks:confused3

Is the FE list posted anywhere?
I do not have a copy (or i missed it somewhere)

Thanks!
Renea

Mine went straight to my junk mail so check there if it doesn't come into your normal inbox :)

I called Payless to get a quote from our house. $115 each way which we thought would be ok since there are 4 of us and we will have to take two trips or two cars. I called back to book and was informed that they could only pick us up at 8am or 12pm. Our check in is 11:30 and I don't want to push the check in time back so we decided to drive. I do understand the timing because they want to be able to pick up people arriving when dropping off those leaving and she said they do not offer a shuttle to a residence so it would be a private car. I was not impressed with the way she spoke to me though when explaining it and when I said no thanks she hung up without a word.

Ok everyone who, asked about transport companies. I opened my mouth too soon and realized I deleted her email awhile ago. I emailed her earlier and will call her tomorrow or Monday to see if she can forward it to me again. So sorry!!!

I'm hoping she will respond quickly. She had the names of private car services, private shuttle services and limo companies.

np!

-Go to http://www.tinypic.com
-Click the 'choose file' button
-Select your picture from wherever it is saved on your computer and hit choose.
-File type should be set to image by default so no need to worry about that, you can also choose to resize it, but if it's not too big then there's no need, just leave it at default.
-Hit 'upload now.' A box will appear with a captcha, just to confirm you're human. Type in the phrase in the 'your answer' box and hit 'upload now'
-You'll get a page with four yellow boxes with different urls/codes. Copy the one under the tite 'IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards' and paste it directly into your post on DIS :)
Voila! :thumbsup2 It's easy, promise!

I was going through those steps as I was writing this and you won't believe the captcha they gave me! Absolutely meant to be!!! :rotfl:

We're doing the same. We'll also have the next day as well just to make sure I can get a complete DLR fix :)

Too funny! Thanks for the instructions though. Here goes...

It's a couple of years old but since the kids won't be with us it doesn't matter 'cause DH & I look (almost) the same :)

Did I read correctly that someone said you could sign up your children on-line, prior to boarding?? I went into our account & couldn't find that info. :confused3

Very nice pictures everyone! This is our first cruise so I don't have any to post yet, only 3 weeks to go!!!!:cheer2:

Wow, that will teach for for not being online for a little while, I've just been reading through pages and pages of stuff. So much helpful info, but I am feeling a little overwhelmed.

I'm trying to get everything organised. We travel reasonably often, and usually pack fairly late but this is our first cruise so I feel like I need to be more organised. Also, travelling internationally, we are wanting to be fairly conservative with our luggage.

I have costumes for pirate night sorted for 2 out of 3 kids and the last one is in progress. I don't think we'll worry for the adults...at least not this time around.

My FE gifts are well under way. I still need to make the actual FE though.

I have plans for formal night. My husband thinks he will just do shirt and tie, since we are coming all the way from Australia. The less we have to carry the better.

We have a Palo dinner booked, but not brunch. If spots come up for the brunch, please put us down.

What have I forgotten????
