I did not see a thread started for this cruise...anyone else joining us? We rebooked on our cruise to Alaska in August. The best thing about this cruise...we do not have to fly since it departs from San Pedro.

FE update: As of today..August 28, 2012...we have:

Fish Extender Tidbits:

Fish Extender (FE) Gifts - This is a fun "game" that is like a Secret Santa type idea.

Participating in the Fish Extender Gift Exchange will be limited to those who sign up PRIOR to 6 weeks before the cruise. This is to encourage participation in the thread and to lessen the last-minute sign-ups which could happen. It also gives everyone adequate time to prepare supplies.

This means the deadline to sign up is: Sunday, 8/19/2012. The deadline is coming up quick so if you are on the fence get signed up!!!

As a group, the feedback I am getting is to hold strong to the deadline so no one will be accepted after... Sorry

Guidelines for our fish extender:
1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.
2. All gifts are to be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Sunday, September 30th until 4 PM on Saturday, October 6th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags before we leave the ship the morning of October 7th.
3.Please include a tag with your DISboard’s user name on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from.
4. To take part in the FE, please PM Disney-ite/Deb the following information (see below).
-DISboard name
-stateroom number
-name of adults and children (gender and ages, if any) in the cabin
-any other pertinent information i.e., celebrations, allergies, and anything else you want us to know
-your email address...I will email the final list to all participants.


After the sign up deadline of August 19th, I will complete the list and email all participants a copy. Then you’ll know how many FE gifts to prepare with the cabin number of where to deliver it. You can deliver your gift any day during the cruise prior to 4:00 pm on October 6th - when it is convenient for you.

We did the Westbound Transatlantic in September on the Magic when it repositioned back from Barcelona to Florida and whilst on board booked for the Pacific Cruise on the Wonder for September 30th 2012.

Before Cruising this year we found a wonderful group on Disboards and Facebook entitled WBTA From Spain to Space Mountain. We had great fun meeting up with Fellow cruisers in Planet Hollywood, Barcelona the night before we sailed. Someone organised special pale blue lanyards for us all to wear on board with our disnames on them and so it really broke the ice to be able to speak to a 'stranger' on board when we each spotted our fellow dis'ers.

There were over 150 of us from all parts of the world come the end and we still talk to each other. I hope this turns out to be the same.

So we jumped shipped last week! We were on the previous weeks cruise, but I checked my kids school schedule for next year, and it turns out they are off for fall break starting LAST of September. Didnt make sense to have them out for a week and then be on break. So, here we are! Joining in on this wonderful cruise meet.

Me- Mindy I LOVE DISNEY! This will be our 5th DCL and were excited to tour CA.
DH- Brandon, He really enjoys the cruise and even helped me plan the Fish Extender gifts.
DD- Cecily- 9 will be 10 at sailing time, but her and my son would rather take a DCL cruise than go any where else..
DS- Kaden, 7 will be 8 at time of sailing is my little monster. He watched DCL videos just for fun!

Anyone wanting to do the Fish Extenders?
In my opinion, its the best kept secret of us DISer on DCL. Makes the cruise so much fun.
Ill keep the list going if anyone wants to join in.

My daughter and I just got back from our Wonder-ful Mexican Riviera Cruise yesterday! We had a great time! We participated in the Fish Extender activities for the first time on this cruise and are excited about doing it again on all our future cruises. We booked for the Sept 30, 2012 Pacific Coast cruise (this will be our 5th Disney cruise too) while we were onboard, so if you are setting up the FE list, please put us on it! We are Peterpan47 (age 64) and Satarma (age 41). We're booked on the May 21, 2012 Wonder cruise to Alaska as well, so by the time we finish the Pacific Coast cruise we will have cruised the entire Pacific Coast from Puerto Vallarta to Alaska Not all at once, of course, but the idea is very exciting It's exciting to join this group too. I know we'll have a great year of communicating before our cruise!
