I just found this link we are sailing on Magic the 29th of September. Is it too late to get on board? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Valerie

welcome Valerie !

Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G using DISBoards

Thanks Piper!!
This will be our first cruise ever!! We are all super excited. It will be my husband, 6 year old daughter, 9 year old son and myself. We are celebrating all of our birthdays while we are there. The kids opted not to have parties so that they could spend time with big mouse. Lol. I did not know that DCL had so many outside activities, i.e. door decorating and meet and greets. I guess I have to get on the ball. I just don't know where to start? Thanks for adding even more excitement.

Welcome to cruising and to the board. :)

Welcome! This is our first cruise too! Me and DH celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary (Oct 6) and his b-day early (Oct 22). Yes, I have been finding so many neat things that DisBoard people do! We are very excited!

My pockets are 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 and they have a pleat so they'll open up some. I'm really not good at these kind of projects and I don't sew so I was adding a ribbon border around the whole thing...that's why the pockets are that size. When I finished I realized that I should have made the pockets wider! That's as tall as they could be since I was putting 4 of them on there. I've spray painted some clothespins to match the FE and I'm going to clip them to the bottom of it in case any FE gifts won't fit into the pockets.

GREAT idea about the clothespins! I will bring some along, b/c the younger cruiser's FEs are larger :)

Welcome!!
This will be our 2nd Disney cruise. Our first one was a mere 3 nights and it was not long enough at all!! We were so happy when Disney announced they were cruising out of Galveston. I look forward to meeting you!

Has anyone ironed their decals on their red Tshirts yet? My friend Amy did it and, even though she used dark transfer paper, the red still shows through the light/white parts.

I opened the image in photoshop and played with it a little and I think that if we make the light background have more color it might work better, but then the writing might be harder to see.

I pulled both Piper's and SucalT's designs (post #444) into photoshop and played with them a little. (I really wish I knew how to use photoshop better!) I think I had better luck with SucalT's design because the wording was bigger and showed up better.

Anyway, I haven't been brave enough to print them out and iron them on yet. I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has had any problems with it or maybe suggestions on what to do to keep the red from showing through. I really like the idea of red shirts (I don't like the cheap white ones) and I've already bought mine so that's what I'll use. I'm just trying to get the red not to show through.

I have no idea how to post a photo on here or I'd post pics of what I did.

Any thoughts?? :confused3

The red doesn't show at all on my shirt. Are you sure she used the one for dark fabric? It is printed on a white sheet but the one for light is on a clear sheet. I just used the regular Avery paper and had no problems at all.

I have been able to find many images for our door. I was wondering if I am able to write on the images or customize the images? I would like to put our names on them. I would love to pm you piper but the board does not allow me to.

One other thing is it too late to participate in the fish exchange? I just learned about that on Monday. If so no worries.
Thanks again for all of everyone's help. This trip is going to be a blast!!

I've customized a lot of things I have found online. I usually just paste them into word and set the images to be behind the text. Then, I add whatever text I want. Also, if you google Disney font you can download it free. That's the font I used to personalize all of our magnets. It looks really cute and Disneyish. :)

That's good to know. Maybe I'll try an experimental one on some red fabric. I've never used the dark transfers before. Her shirts didn't look bad at all, I just was going to try to fix any possible problems beforehand if I could. Could you post a picture of your shirt so I can see how it turned out?

The fish exchange cut off was Aug 1, I think. :(

Question for the group

I am not sure what to do. We had set Aug 1st as the deadline. I don't know about others, but my sister and I have purchased the fabric and other materials we need and I personally don't have funds set aside for more.

I have been in contact with people from other sailings and have been told that sometimes people who ask to join late are in a separate and new group of "latecomers." If others have "extras" they sign up to put it in the new group's FEs.

As with other things, I need to know what the group wants. Please weigh in and let me know what you want to do.

I was just wondering when the deadline was. It really is not a big deal. We just didnt know that there are so many things that go on outside of the normal cruise activities.

I have 6 extras for **just in case** if you want to, send me a private message with names/ages and favorite disney characters and if you are a party 6 or under I will definitely give you a gift :) If you are over 6 that's okay too, I will come up with something :)

I just sent you a PM too. I may have extras FE gifts too. There might be several of us like that so maybe we can include you informally. :yay:

I just booked our trip this morning and would love to participate in the FE swap. If it is a separate group or added into the previous group. I don't want my kids to miss the fun of FE.
There are 4 of us
My hubby and I and
2 Children
14 Son
and 7 Daughter
