September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

So excited- it's all coming together now!

Lots of availability for the restaurants, excursions, BBB, pretty much everything! :thumbsup2

We have:

Palo Brunch Monday at 10:30
Palo Dinner Wednesday at 8
BBB (princess) for Sarah Sunday at 3:45 (for formal night)
and Pirate's League for Sarah Tuesday at 6

All of our excurions are (hopefully) going to be on our own, and we are just relaxing at CC so nothing there.

Super excited!!! Now it feels like we can really start planning!

I'm so excited because i got palo for formal night and i got pirate leauge the first mate package. Also got a bike for castaway key. I was watching lost in space while wating for the resevation to open up and someone used the word castaway funny. I got a island tour and shopping for st thomas. Since i have pirate leauge for tuesday at 2;15 i 'm doing any formal tours but i think i'm going to get off the ship and look around until 1;30 or so. I can now go to sleep it's 10:45 pm here in Bucoda, washington. Good night to my fantasy ship mates in 89 dayswe shall meet. See ya real soon.:grouphug:

All checked in!!! We got our 11am check in time!!! Wow, tonight's events went a lot easier than I would have ever expected. Our wishlist was completely fulfilled, even all the days and times that we wanted everything. So good night... or good morning...:goodvibes

We are also doing a family friendly tour with Bernard...maybe we will be together!

I would like to go to paradise point as well...not sure if the whole family will get their money's worth. We are going to try the Kontiki sightseeing cruise, and maybe there will be time afterward for the sky ride. Do you know the cost difference between the DCL excursion and doing it on your own?

I think the price is about the same whether you do it through DCL or on your own. I booked it through DCL "just in case" but I may end up canceling it so we can see if we really have time to do it. Our St. John catamaran is EARLY...7:30 AM - 12:30 pm, so we should have time. But I also want to have lunch at Gladys' in St. Thomas, so could be cutting it close. I will play that by ear.

So true..I couldn't believe how easy it was..i was up at midnight did our ressies and fell asleep at 1 only to have my crazy mind wake me up at 3 for online check-in..didn't even fill out credit card info just breezed through until we got port time, hit the 11:00 and went to sleep...going to be a great trip!

I was shocked that I still got the 11:00 AM Port Arrival Time when I did my online check in at 5 AM Eastern!

I would have been okay with a later time (even though I wanted as much time as possible on the new ship), so was VERY excited to see 11:00 was still available!

Guess I won't be stopping at the DIS Welome Center. The email from my DU TA said that FL Tours will make a complmentary stop there....but according to FL Tours, it is either that stop or a grocery stop (for alcohol). As much as I'd love to see the Welcome Center, the alcohol wins.

I just completed my online check-in (noon time) and all the port arrival time slots were still available. We are arriving at 12-12:30. The ressies/online check-in process were so easy. Now just to continue our countdown :)

Now I really need to concentrate on what I am doing for FE gifts!

Just got off the phone with Disney re: the Kon Tiki excursion. No one has any idea why it isn't there, everyone says that they have no information as to why it isn't, but they can not get it to come up either. they said it may me that it just isn't offered that particular week, or it is blacked out for some reason. OR...it might show up later. She said. Ate another plan, and keep checking to see if is shows up.

Great. Now I have no clue what we will do...

We need a 1 Day Pass for Magic Kingdom the day before the cruise... any tips on how to get discounted tickets?

Well, don't give up. Maybe it's just a bug in their system that needs to be worked out. I would try looking every few days online and maybe calling every week just to see if you can get an answer.

If your budget allows, I would buy a multi-day/no expiration pass. That way you can use it anytime in the future and the price goes down per day. We did that years ago with a 7 day no exp and still have a couple days left on ours. Comes in handy when we don't have an annual pass.

Welcome Lori! I see that you are going on a World Cruise in 2014...very cool!

Curious...What is Gladys'?

Gladys' is a restaurant that a friend told me about. He goes to St. John almost every year and said that we should definitely try to lunch at Gladys' if we can fit it in. I have also seen it mentioned in other threads and I believe in the Passporter.

Plus...my grandmother's name was Gladys, so just another reason to try to go!

Hello, my name is Lisa and I am a compulsive booker....- of reservations that is... Just booked another BBB experience for dd and unless she wants to start dressing in drag we will have done it all.. After a lot of thoight, we also booked Remy for St. Thomas night-I am not a risk-taker when it comes to food and was a bit worried that I will not find things I would enjoy but really want the "experience".. Dh will love it and heck, if I don't love the food at least I'll enjoy the wine pairing:banana:

Hi all, we are all booked! I didn't know if anyone has some good ideas for shore excursions on st Thomas ans st marteen for a family with 3 kids under 4, with the youngest being 6 months (she might stay on ship) but the older two are 2 and 4. Thanks

I'll thrilled because i was able to book both palo and Remy. I'm looking foward to expeing two good meals. I understand that at the end of the meal at remy that the ladies get a rose. If this is true what colour is it?:wizard::woohoo::hug:

Welcome!

I have done the Eastern with little ones a couple of times so I do have a few suggestions. :goodvibes

In St. Thomas the first time we went to St. John (Trunk Bay beach) on our own as our daughter was too young for the ship excursion. It is a gorgeous must see baech but getting there is expensive, time consuming and tedious (taxi then ferry then taxi again repeat on the way back)

The second time we left DD3 on the ship and did the Turtle Cove sail and Snorkel which was fabulous!

On this cruise we are hopefully doing a private charter or possibly the Kon Tiki if booking for that becomes available.

In St Maarten both previous times we did a snorkeling charter with Capt. Alan. Totally recommend it- an awesome trip. In fact we were going to do it again this time but decided on the Random Wind instead just to do something a little different. (Random Wind can carry up to 20 so there are 15 spots left!) DD was 22 months old the first time. not sure how it would be with a 6m/o but the older kids would certainly enjoy it (it does stop at an isolated beach on the French side sometimes though- which is a problem if it ihas a lot of traffic that day)

We've taken our daughter on excursions at 4 months old before (back on the Magic in '08) and it really wasn't the easiest and she had her moments. LOL. That was a Westen though. But at the ripe old age of four this will be her fifth cruise so we've certainly had plenty of experience with infant/toddler/preschool age kids on excursions. :lmao:

Those are the excursions which we've done. Other excursions/things that soud like they would work well with little ones (you pretty much have to do all of them on your own though as cruise ship excursions are generally for ages 3/4/5 and up) would be :

St. Thomas:
Magens Bay beach, Paradise Point Skyride

St. Maarten:
Bernard's family tour (which a few folks on this cruise are doing), or Maho Beach (where the plaes land above you). I'd try to avoid the French beaches (Orient, etc.) as they do have nudity.

Hope that helps a bit. :goodvibes

:) Jen

Hi! We are doing a tour with Bernard on St. Maarten. A little bit of everything...sights, shopping, beach, and Maho (where the airplanes fly right overhead). On St. Thomas, we were going to book the Kon Tiki excursion, but I have seen some not-so-lovely reviews lately about heading back more towards the booze cruise, so maybe that is why Disney pulled it? Anyway, in my research, we came across Fury charters...a sailboat that also goes to turtle cove to snorkel. We still haven't officially booked that privately, but are leaning in that direction.
