Cruise newbie (sort of) here with another question.
How does getting your photographs from Shutters work? Do the photographers use a PhotoPass like they do at WDW or do you have to hunt down your pictures or none of the above?
Thanks much. Gotta go work on my smile. Unlike my lovely wife, I can't smile for pictures unless I am happy or maybe a little tipsy. Hmm. Maybe it won't be an issue on the cruise.
Nuther round Captain!
Yep...I don't think smiles will be an issue on this cruise.

Have you ever had a Miami Vice? Those are SUPER DUPER yummy. I think I like those even better than the Mojito. Oh...and the Bahama mama? Mmmmm. I can't wait.
Photos at Shutters. First off...the photographers are ALL over the ship. If you see one and want your pic taken don't hesitate to call one over or ask them to snap away. That's a great tip for those of us with kids. And I have to say....the shipboard photographers get some GREAT shots. And from all over.
Every night they put new photos out. The walls in Shutters fold out to allow for additonal space as the week goes on and more photos are displayed. They try to keep the photos displayed by event. Meaning they'll put all the embarkation photos in one area, the character breakfast photos in another and Palo photos in yet another....get the idea. It makes it somewhat easer to find your photos this way.... like if you haven't been to Palo yet...you know your pic shouldn't be over there.
We stacked our pics the first year and some the second time...BUT I for one have had issues with stacking. For one...the people in shutters sometimes move the stacks to make more room for new photos....plus with moving and others looking through them some photos do get misplaced or added. I can't say how many times we went to look at our stack to find strangers photos mixed in with ours.
Like Kathy already mentioned you can "trade" photos if you find one you'd rather have. I'd suggest if your getting the photo package (even if your not)...if you see a photo you like and think you may want just go for it. You can always trade it in for a diffrent one if you find another one you like better. IF you find one you LOVE get it then...DON'T wait. We did this

It was the start of the cruise when we found a photo of our DD at the pool (we didn't even know the photographer was there) that we LOVED. But instead of getting it right then and there...we decided to stack it and wait. Long story short...we got all the way home before we realized it wasn't in our stack.
Another suggestion...look at the package prices if you find your self finding alot of photos. Word of warning...SHUTTERS sucks the money out of you. They take great photos...which makes them hard to pass up. If you don't want to get break the bank with photos stay away from shutters and the photographers.
8X10's are about $20 each...while the 5x7's are $10 each (I actually don't think there true 5x7's...there actually a odd size...thats hard to find frames for off the ship)
Anyways you'd asked about how you get your pics... Just go into shutters anytime there open...look through the hundreds of photos...find yours and decide if you want it or not. You don't have any decision on size...they print all the portraits as 8x10 and most random shots at the 5x7's. You can get multiple prints made...but they won't resize for you. If you find photos that you know 100% you don't want...they have a trash bin to toss them in

I know...TOTALLY hard to toss even bad photos IMO. Anyways that's the low down on Shutters.
Oh...another tip... They get SUPER SUPER SUPER busy on the last night....so try your best to not wait until then to do your shutters bussiness. AND both times we've cruised they HAVE been open the Saturday we get off the ship...BUT I've never seen any specials or discounts for waiting. I think that's one reason it's so busy on the last night...to many people thinking they'll discount the prints and be able to get a great last min deal. It dosen't happen..so don't wait for it.
