I love margaritas!
You are among friends! ;) Many of us are going to try and book the Margarita tasting session that happens on the Monday - please join us! :thumbsup2

Hey, Marsha, I meant to say - you go, girl! I totally understand where you're coming from and I think you're absolutely right. This life's too short as it is and you have such a worthwhile (and stressful) career that you deserve to have a good time! :thumbsup2 Enjoy your cruises...

thanks. ya know i hope most if not all ppl feel the same way I do with or without a chronic illness. One never knows what tomorrow will bring. So enjoy and love today. But also plan and have something to look forward to :cool1:

I had my first ultrasound today. I'm 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant, my due date is December 9. We got to see the baby and hear its heartbeat. They said everything looks good right now. Yay! Hopefully I will be canceling this cruise (never thought I would say that....and be happy about it too!) I go in on the 30th for an exam. Hopefully things will continue to go well.
Here are the ultrasound images if you would like to see (not that you can see much!)

Great news Melody. Wishing you nothing but the best.

Welcome aboard to Sabrina in Tn and family. We are located in Nashville and if we can help you with any answers to question, we will be happy to do it. Mike

Welcome Sabrina!

I can't seem to keep up with the boards this week. My DGD has scarlet fever and I have been babysitting quite a bit. Hopefully I will be able to catch up this weekend. Everybody take care. I will get back as soon as I get a few more moments.

Kathy, Stacy or Sandi, sorry to be so nosy, but what are "sign-out privileges"?

Basically it's giving your child permission to sign themselves out of the Oceaneers Lab instead of having the parent paged to come sign the child out. I believe the kids have to be 8 or 9 (I can't remember....anyone, anyone???) to be able to sign themselves out, and only if the parent gives the okay to the Lab.

I totally trust DD to sign herself out, I'm just afraid that she might get lost on the ship and freak out!!! She's like me...no internal compass!:rotfl: Poor kid!

Eva. sorry to hear about your DGD. Hope she feels better soon. Plus hope it isn't too serious. Will keep her, you and family in my thoughts and prayers.

Stacy, I too think the age is 8 for sign out privledges. Internal compass - HA!:rotfl: remember how each time we went back to our rooms we went in the wrong direction!!

Welcome sabrina in TN. I also am a pea, however am really more of a lurker there. I think I have only posted over there once or twice. It has been forever since I have scrapped. My DD will be just shy of 8 when we cruise, maybe your DD could hook up with mine, scrapperjills & Threesmiths. They are all about the same ages.

Kathy

I get busy for the day and everyone gets chatty!:rotfl2:
Welcome Sabrina to this chatty group! You'll have a blast on this cruise!

Marsha... what sailing date are you thinking of next Sept? We have our eye on the Costa Maya. We might do the "book on ship thing" while we're there.

Melody... thats such great news. Hope the baby is born before midnight on the 31! What a tax deduction!
I have a grandson born that day(New Years Eve) He's 6 and he thinks everyone celebrates his birthday.:yay:

Eva... dont forget to take care of you too while tending to your DGS!

If you look at the anchors in the carpet in the halls. Blue means one end of the ship and the red anchors indicate the other. Forget which is which though.

Oh and we picked up a 2006 prius last night with just 16,000 miles (25750km) on it. Love that backup camera. Mike

Some reflections - not exactly on topic.

I've been reading the posts all week, but haven't posted. It's been hard to focus on anything but the tragedy at VA Tech - this area is so high-tech focused (the other focus is Government), we all know someone who goes there, who went there, whose son or daughter is there. Everyone DH and I know personally is safe but we know people who know some of the victims and their families.

DH and I have been so impressed with the students - the press is everywhere, digging for any snippet of information or "dirt" they can find, and the students are standing firm in their resolve to support their school, their leadership, and each other, and they are not putting out!

Okay, on to happier news - Welcome!! Voyager9 and Sabrina in TN and families!!

Melody - thank you for the update on the baby and the pictures!! Continued prayers and pixiedust for all to proceed as you wish - love the ticker too!!

Mike - Congratulations on the Prius!!! I think low-mileage "pre-owned" vehicles are a very sensible choice for saving money!! (When did everyone stop saying "used cars"?)

Eva - prayers and pixiedust to you and your DGD as well - hope she recovers quickly and completely, and I second Ann's and Karen's advice to be sure and take care of yourself while you're taking care of her.

Marsha - I love your attitude  about doing things now, being responsible but taking the time and spending the money to have fun and real vacations too! I, too, have often put off doing 'indulgent' things because it seems the responsibilities are so many and so overwhelming - it feels selfish to do for ourselves! Reading your post after being deluged with VA Tech news all week has reminded me once again that it is right and good to seek fun - and joy - and beauty - and to never take anything for granted!! DH has taught me much about doing so, hence my handle: "Lucky Penny" The license plate on my car reads: LCKY LDY.

Sorry if this is sad - and also off topic - I will feel better again soon!

Penny and Bob, so shocked to hear that you were in the vicinity of such a tragedy. Although my geographical knowledge of the US is slowly improving, I had no idea anyone in our little cruising family would be so close to the horror. I realise that such a terrible situation can rock a community and you guys will be in my thoughts and prayers. The students sound wonderful young people - let's hope the media leave them and your community alone soon. No need to apologise for being sad - who wouldn't be affected by recent events so close to home. And no one minds if you go off topic. We are more than simply cruise-mates as we have been chatting for such a long time, and I, for one, am more than happy to read (as well as respond to) your outpourings - I just hope it helps... So take care of yourselves and remember we are here.

Love Kxxx

NIce one, Mike! :thumbsup2 My DH's hybrid car has a camera for when you reverse - only thing is he never remembers to keep the camera lens clean so managed recently to back into a skip (huge metal bin for dumping building rubble/rubbish into) that we had on our driveway causing $$$ worth of damage!

Karen,

Thanks - I knew it would be okay to post, just wanted to put in the 'off topic' disclaimer in case anyone wanted to skip it. :)

I should have been more specific about "this area" in my post. We do not live in the geographic vicinity of VA Tech. We are in the Northern Virginia (NoVA) suburbs - near Washington DC and MD. VA Tech is a little over 200 miles from here - in the southwestern part of the state, closer to WV, TN, NC. But the ties are strong between here and there. VA Tech grads feed the high-tech businesses here, and high schools of NoVA feed VA Tech. One of my colleagues is a graduate of VT in Blacksburg and a current student at the VT NoVA campus working on his Executive MBA; another colleague's son is a first-year student at VT (safe, and home for a few days!); we have had a young woman intern here two summers in a row who is a current engineering student (also safe). Bob works closely with a colleague who is also a VT alum.

Thanks again for your kindness!

Oh boy...step away from the board for a few days and you've got pages to catch up on.:goodvibes

Almost...to the under 5 mo countdown:cool1:

First off...WELCOME Sabrina in TN:banana:  I'm a pea as well....I haven't been over there much and I don't post a whole lot but I do have a gallery (link in my sig below) with my first cruise album (most of the pages)...it's getting old now..it's from 2004. I should really get busy and upload my last cruise album....before I know it it'll be old also.;) Anywho...it's a fun place and a great spot to get some creative ideas.

Melody...GREAT news about the progress. Still wishing you the best of luck that everything works out and you have a smooth joyfull pregnancy:goodvibes

Eve....So sorry to hear about you DGD...I hope she's feeling better SOON.

Marsha...hey girl....you better slow down. Before you know it you'll be living on the ship. Thinking about it...that's no a bad idea:cutie: Oh...I was going to say...are you planning on checking in to the rebooking deals on your cruise in June...to see what perks you can get if you rebook those you already have???

Papa....great news on your Prius:thumbsup2 Enjoy:goodvibes

I was also going to say about the anchors on the ship...with one way being blue and the other way being red... I tryed that last time and it didn't work:confused3 . I think they installed the carpets wrong:lmao: cuz on part of the ship the arrows ment one thing and another part they ment something else:rotfl: . Either that or I was just ALWAYS turned around...no really they were backwards in parts of the ship...really. I had that same problem everytime I went to my stateroom...I'd come down the stairs and turn the wrong way:rolleyes1 I guess I could always play the directional confussion to, to many Bahama mamas, Mojitos or Miami Vices:rolleyes1 but then I'd have no excusse for my getting turned around on a daily basis:rolleyes1
