Hello!

For everyone that has gone before, is September a good time to go? DVC members.... is it easy to get a 2 bedroom OV in Sept?

Are surfing lessons, boat tours (to see dolphins, fish, cage dive),snorkeling, still available to do at this time?

Is this a pack lightly trip, I know if we secure the 2 bedroom there should be a washer/dryer but even better if I do not have to bring much anyway!

What is a romantic getaway that you all recommend.... dinner and what not... that I could book for my parents 30th wedding anniversary?

If anyone has any camera knowledge, are waterproof cameras worth buying to bring on the trip?

My husband and I went in Sept. 2015, before our Disney cruise. We were there for 5 days, it was beautiful.
The weather was perfect, maybe one shower while we were there.
Worst weather was the day we did Pearl Harbor, rained the entire time, but once we got back to Ko'Olina it was blue skies.
Ama Ama is a beautiful open to the ocean Restaurant that I think was pretty romantic, we watched the sunset from our table...Perfect. The dinner was also delicious. AND the pancakes at breakfast there are the best we've ever had, so light and fluffy. I want to go back just for those darn pancakes.
I am a terrible over-packer, so I brought a lot because we had the 10 night cruise after our Aulani stay. But we only had a regular room, no washer.
I bought a pouch for my iPhone online and it worked really well in the pool and Lazy River.
There were a lot of people going on the cruise as well, but we never had any issues with lounges at the pool or ocean.
We didn't realize how many people were heading on the cruise, till the morning of when we went to bus meet place, it was jam packed.

Have a great time!

September is probably the very best time to go for a couple. The kids are all back to school, the weather is fabulous, the ocean waters are warm and occupancy at Aulani will be lower than other times of the year. All of the activities that you are looking to do are available most of the year including September. There will be no whale watching though because they are migratory and come to Hawaii in the winter months.

Couldn't agree more! We were there this past September for our honeymoon. We had gorgeous weather all 16 days we were there, and Aulani seemed very dead, especially compared to the stories I read here. We had a great time - trip report is in my signature if you want more details on our September experience!
