Hi,

I have been planning a trip with my 5yrs old twins (girl and boy) in February 2015, however, an opportunity has popped out to me and we could do the trip in September this year, but I have several questions and maybe some of you guys could help me out:

1. Between the chosen months, in your opinion or experience, which one is the best and why?
2. We live in Panama, a hot country. For the kids, what would be more tolerable, the rains in September or the cold in February?
3. Planned dates could be February 3 to 9, 2015 or September 14 to 21, 2014. There is any planned or traditional offer from Disney for any of these dates?

I will travel as single parent with the kids, so I am trying to get the best for them in this trip and any answer, idea or suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Edgar

Sept the weather will be very hot. Feb. the weather will be cold and you will need a coat. So it depends on what weather you want to visit in.

Most definitely September! I went last September around the 20th and I am sold, it was a very slow time and weather was perfect
! We went from NC and were comfortable!

We went Jan 31-Feb 7 and we never needed a coat. In fact there were 4 days of our trip that were plenty warm enough to swim (80s). It was very nice weather for walking around the parks.
However, some rides we would have really liked to go on were closed for refurbishment. It was a little disappointing. Crowds weren't bad at all.
Is there a reason you'd stay a day less in September?

Just want to say I truly commend you for going alone with not 1 but 2 children! On Mother's Day of 2013 I did a trip just me and my son who was 2 at the time! Thank God for Disney property I felt very safe and thankful for the transportation..

Thanks a lot for your answers.

About some of your points:

1. Given that I will need to deal with two kids, I am trying to get the best way to make it possible. I have already planned the stay in Pop Century, taking into consideration the buses service over the one offered for the All Stars hotels. It wont be an easy task, me alone with them, but it deserves my sacrifice and a good planning period.

2. MandiC. I would actually staying one day more in September, because in February 9 is my brother's birthday and we use to get together at home every birthday (weird maybe, but is like a tradition for us). On other hand, I have a commitment with my work on February 2 and I would not be able for an earlier departure. After February 9, I understand a holiday weekend will pop out and the prices will go up too, so in February I don't have many options.

3. Refurbishments in February are also kicking me back to September. It will be my second time in Disney World, but the first one for my kids. I know that they wont be able to ride everything, because the time and queues, their height and the unusual party ages, but If it is there, I want it functioning. :goodvibes

4. So far, the only applicable offer I have seen is the Free Memory Maker package that could be applicable for our stay in September. Sounds good, but I would love something like a Free Dining Plan offer.

Well, thanks again for your comment and suggestions.

Regards,
Edgar

Personally I'd probably go September. This coming from someone who has never been to Florida in September ;) For the extra day and missing the possible ride closures. Also, September you are much more likely to get free dining or some other promo.
I'd look into what the weather is typically like, I think easywdw lists it on their calenders? The only thing I'd be iffy about is hurricane season.

I been there in September and February and I would rather deal with some rain opposed the the potential cold in February. I additional, many of the attractions may be closed in February for upgrade, repairs, etc because it's their low season.

I would definitely pick September. It is probably the slowest time of the year. Also, my 5&6 wanted to swim and September will be hot. I've been in February a couple times and it was not warm enough to enjoy swimming. My teenager did, but I know my youngest wouldn't have stuck a toe in, he shivers when it's 90 degrees out.

September would be my ideal time to go, but our school year is just starting. I am planning the end of August/beginning of September next year. It will be hot, but we did great when it was 95 in October. We did the park for 5-6 hours (hit rope drop) came back to the hotel to do the pool and then decided if we wanted to do a park or just hang out at night. I followed the the kids' lead and we didn't have a single tear or tantrum for 11 days.

You are going to have so much fun, no matter when you go.

I'd vote for september--you'd get to attend MNSSHP!!!! (that would be mickey's not so scary halloween party, and it would be $55 or so extra per person). We went last year, during the "slow" time, and let me say, I'd hate to be there during the busy time. MNSSHP got VERY crowded. I don't know if it sold out or not, but seems like it must have gotten close.

The rain for the most part not that big of a deal. It comes in, then goes right back out. There was 1 day that it rained for 1 -2 hours, which was actually nice as it cleared out the park. And swimming was great. I think feb. it wouldn't be as enjoyable.

Last year we did both feb and September and September by far was our preference. We had a day in February that was 40's and rain. We were pretty miserable.

Plus it seemed much more crowded in February

We are debating the same thing!!! I really want to go February 2015. We went September 2013 for the first time. It was to hot for us!! Loved the crowd levels and free dinning so that's intriguing again. But we were dying in the heat LOL. We are from Canada so not used to those temps though. Just a little worried that Feb will be to cold from what I'm reading. On the other hand we are used to minus 20-30 celicus at that time of year do it might feel like summer to us :)

I can't find prices for Feb 2015 yet. You mentioned it seemed like the cheapest time. How did you find the pricing lists?

We go both times of year and September weather is more predictable. There will be a free dining promo (has been that time of year for years) and less chance of refurb. 2 kids at 5 won't be hard. I'd recommend renting a double stroller if they are getting worn from the long days/nights. Happy planning!

Well, thanks again.

Those last inputs pushed me to take the decision and air tickets have been already purchased from September 14 to 21, 2014.

It is always nice to come here, ask some advices and have people interested in helping. ::yes::
