Hi, im new so not really sure how this works.
Im off to DLP on 4th sep for 3 nights 4 days staying @ santa fe

Im arriving on a sunday which im kind of dreading now as ive read on another forum that u should avoid weekends at all costs???

I have a 2 yr old who is obsessed with 'buzz & biddy' so cant wait to go to the toy story playland.

Do u have any tips for going this time of year, shall i take rain clothes incase?

Also i want to do a character meal so we definately get to spend abit of time with characters, was thinking either cafe mickey or cowboy chow, what do u recommend??? shall i book before we go??

I'll be grateful for any help - thanks :)

You must be getting so excited now!!

Don't forget Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast ride in Discoveryland too!

I would recommend Cafe Mickey and also booking before you go. Have you read the review thread?

Always handy to have a rain coat, unless you like the pocho look?!! :lmao: We had great weather in September, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared!

I imagine the Sunday will be busy, but as that is the day you arrive, use the time to wander around, have a meal, enjoy the details, shop, meet some characters, or head to Studios to watch a show. You should have plenty of time to do everything. If you are there in time, The Steakhouse in Disney Village has a character Sunday Brunch which I have always fancied!!!

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Hi noodle1988,

Sundays are busy, but if you just spend some time in the bulk of the day doing shows, just wandering around and getting your bearings, you'll be fine. That Sunday you will have the fireworks and evening parade too, so I'd definitely make a plan to watch those :) - go to your hotel in mid-afternoon and try to rest for a couple of hours, so you're feeling awake for the fireworks. The rides for your little one will also be much quieter and easier to get on on Sunday after about 8pm, so don't worry if the park is very busy in the day/afternoon.

Tarzan also finishes on the 4th - never seen this show as we normally visit between October and April.

However this year is our first in August to see the fireworks, Tarzan etc - we arrive on Monday 29/08 after a week in the Loire valley and leave DLRP on Friday 02/09

When you arrive on the Sunday, watch Tarzan, have a rest and then go back in the evening for the fireworks - it should be quieter on the Monday

We quite often have travelled on a Sunday as there are no French lorries on the motorways and when you been on a few rides, eaten and settled in, the day is nearly over (result = one less holiday day entitlement used)

Thanks everyone for getting back to me :)

Got a couple more things im not sure on:confused3
With the shows do u just turn up at the right time and pay to go in, or do u have to book and pay upfront?

The fireworks sounds good, will definately want to see them. I saw written somewhere that they were at 11pm???

Also might sound silly but are all the rides including the kids rides open until the park closes in the evening???

Thanks :cutie:

you don't pay anything extra for any of the shows inside either of the Disney parks at DLP, try to get to the theatre about 10 minutes before the show start time.

yes, they are at the end of the main park day

they will close Fantasyland (where most of the little kids rides are) and Adventureland at 10pm, so that all guests are out of harms way for the fireworks to be set up. You still have Frontierland and Discoveryland to enjoy though after 10pm until 11pm :)

Thanks :cutie:

hope this helps,
