September 2010 Check-In

Darn. I was really hoping for no weekday WOC and low DCA crowds.

EDIT - Woohoo! Just saw my signature. I'm in the 50's now!

Maybe I will try to look on the brighter side. Maybe the WoC crowds at DCA will lessen the crowds at Disneyland. That makes sense, right?? :)

Add my name to the list of people going in Sept. We get in on the 4th and leave on the 6th. We're at the DLH for the races!! 5K on Saturday and 1/2 on Sunday, then Disneyland!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo::dance3::cheer2: Can't wait, only 1more month!

Ok, please explain to me.. there will be no fireworks?? :confused3 Could that be possible?? :scared1: I love fireworks!!

Same for me! We will be "resting" in the park on Friday and Saturday and then a friend and I are running on Sunday. Hopefully we will be up for more DL time after the race. Are you dressing up to run?

I was thinking about it. At least something. This is my 4th time and the last 3 have been "races." This time I am in the middle of training for a full, so this is going to be my easy/down week (I have 20 the weekend before). So I will definitely be in better shape than the past times, and I thought why not make it fun. What about you?

Since this is my first Half, my goal is to finish the race and not get kicked off  I should be okay with that goal. Since I am running with a friend we are coordinating something, but not sure yet what that will be.

That won't be a problem. You get an addrenelin rush running through DL and DCA with all the backstage part and it just be the runners in DL. There's bannds along the course and a ton of people, especially at the end. When you're at like mile 12 and you get back to the resort, there are a toooonn of people which gets you back going again. By far, one of the best 1/2s to run!

Okay, I'm so confused right now and I'm hoping you can help me since this is the group going in September. In the past, we've gone in April so I know how to find good dates then, but this time we are thinking about going either October 13-17 or Sept 22-26. We would love to see Disney all decked out for Halloween since Halloween runs a close second to Christmas as a favorite holiday. Are there advantages to going in September over October? If we went in October, we wouldn't be doing MHP since it's too expensive. Any suggestions?

Oh, we are a family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 kids ages 7, 4, 15 months.
Thanks!

Either way you will get to see the Halloween decorations, and Halloween Time will be in full swing. September should have lighter crowds and you won't have to deal with DL closing early for MHP, but if you go in October TSMM should be up and running again.

Just wanted to say that I am Soooooooo excited for tomorrow being August 1st!!!! I leave for Vegas in 29 days and arrive for our first stay at GCH on sept 2nd!!!!! I am beyond excited to get back on Disney property!!!!!! :)

I have been neglecting this thread (and most of the DIS) so badly for a few days! Glad to see there's lots of planning and talking going!!

For anyone still waiting to make PS for WOC dining packages, at least we know it will be showing in September as per what is currently reflected on the calendar. When I called this a.m. to make my PS for Blue Bayou and Goofy's Kitchen I asked if they were starting to take reservations for the WOC package in September yet and I couldn't but the CM I spoke to did suggest calling back later this week.

HTH!!

Oh, and while I remember: is anyone interested in planning a meet up between the 23rd and the 27th?? That's when I'll be there.

.

I'm am not sure why you could not make WOC reservations. I called Disney Dining at 8:00 AM yesterday and made reservations at WCT for the 8:15 PM showing of WOC. The dining time was 5:10 on September 23rd. They only gave me time options of 4:10 or 5:10. Maybe I better call and double check to be sure there was no confusion but date, time and show time were all repeated back to me.

Hm. Then maybe I was misinformed if you were able to. Blah. I'll call back on Monday. I'm still debating on if I'm actually going to do it or not so I wasn't going to make it today anyway. I'm honestly leaning more towards doing the Fantasmic! dessert seating to be honest.

As of last night you could make WOC dining res for WCT but not Ariel's Grotto for the newly scheduled WOC dates in Sept. The CM suggested I call back early next week.

Just ordered our 5-for-3 parkhoppers--$645 for two adult and two children. Yow, that was a hit to the pocketbook. I ordered through my husband's company as it was the best price I could find.

Feel ya girl! I bought 2 adult and 3 kids 5for3 PHs. Broke it up in a few transactions the last month to make it sting less :lmao:

I too want to make my Dining Ressies but am waiting for more entertainment schedules...ahhh I will probably break down and call on Monday.

Belle Ella: We will be there 25-30 now so perhaps a meet-n-greet would be cool...and we are staying at the HoJo anyhow...

Here's to September Shedule wishes :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Can you take advantage of the 5 for 3 deal with your Sept. dates? That's what we're doing. It should be less crowded, there will still be Halloween stuff, just not the party. It's not a big deal for us since we've been to a party before. Good luck deciding!
