Still not getting notified I just happened to jump back again to see if anyone has posted yet.

Its like a mad house around here today. I have 8 kids from MA that got into a car wreck last night and are stuck here with no money and food so I invited them to come over tonight of some sort of Pasta and Garlic Bread so they have something in the tummys. They are a band on tour so I know if that was my son I would want someone to help him out.

That is sooo nice of you! Take care of those Massachusetts kids, we are very nice people up here! :thumbsup2

I hope none of them got hurt in the accident!

I hate this I still am not getting notified that there are responses on the board!!!

No one got hurt but the car is probably a goner! The kids were great last night only 5 came over but we had a blast. You have never seen 5 kids eat as fast as these kids did and as many plates full it was amazing to watch it kind of reminded me of my son watching him eat all over again.

That's too bad that their car is totalled! Where are they staying, have their parents come to get them?

It was very nice of you and Mike to help them out last night! Gold Star for you Pooh!!!:yay: :flower3:

they got a rental car to finish out their tour dates but at this point I don't exactly know if there car is totalled or not hopefully we can find some CHEAP PARTS for them.

They did call all their parents I made sure of that yesterday.

No gold star just thought it would be nice that if it was my son in the same situtation that I would want to know someone helped him out too.

Double posts sorry

Hello, I am just checking back in since we were in Wisconsin Dells for a couple of days. Just needing to get away and relax.

I am still not getting my messages from Dis either. I would think someone would have notified the people that run the boards by now so there must be some glitch. I have tried to unsubscribe and then resubscribe but that didn't work either. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

Hey Ants, How were your holidays?

Anyway, back to the laundry I go.

Talk to you later,
Angela

I forgot the important things. Wic, How are you feeling? I hope the sinus infection has cleared up for you. I am wishing away the strep for you.

Nancy, How nice to take care of those people from MA. Those are the things they will remember and talk about years from now. Good for you for leaving good memories for them. I so believe that what comes around goes around so good things will be coming back for you.

Well folks, my old friend, pneumonia is back and with a vengeance. My chest feels as if there is an elephant sitting on it. Have to hook up my machine tomorrow and get rid of it. Too much to do to falter now.

Ang, I went to see National Treasure too. My ten year old grandson is a history nut, got it from me, and he was engrossed in it. He would not even go to the bathroom, neither did I. I loved the story and the effects were fabulous. I impressed dgs with the name of the play that Lincoln was watching and with who Dr. Mudd was. Some day he will be smarter than his dgm but not just quite yet. :thumbsup2

Pooh, that is so nice of you. I am not one bit surprised that you would do such though. Tom would have a hissie fit if I did it though. I had a grandson and a friend of his overnight last night and all day today and I am not sure he knew they were here and another friend just spent over an hour visiting and I know he did not know he was here. :confused3 I invited a family with two children into our room at the Sports in September because it was pouring to beat the band and the next day I found a beautifully colored picture with thanks on it on our door. It was very touching. You have given them and their families a wonderful memory as well as yourselves. :lovestruc

ANTS, are you back to normal? Now the holidays and all their unrealistic expectations are over we can get back to living our normal dysfunctional lives. :rotfl2:

I ended up leaving the house THREE times last week. I left my cell phone number on the table with dh and went off. Usually I would have combined all my chores into one very hectic day. I took time out to have an iced tea at our new McD's. Wild woman is what I am. Next year is a major birthday and I am thinking of taking a bus trip ALONE!!!! Hey, thinking is better than nothing and far more than I have ever done before. ;)

I am glad the reminders are coming back but I sure do have a whole lot of catching up to do.

SG/Linda (cough,cough, hack, hack)

Mike and I went to see National Treasures 2 and love it every moment it was great.

I hope you feel better S/G I understand how you feel I am getting a sinus infection now which lead to monia with me always so gotta get some meds or else.

Pooh, I was thinking of you last night as I drug your Christmas present back upstairs, hopefully to present on another trip. ;)

Sinus infection, saline spray as a first line of defense. Simple but often effective.

Medrol, prednisone and nebulizer for the pneumonia. I was recently informed by an ignorant bil that since I no longer let my husband drive (actually the doctor said that he was going to send a note to officials and I talked him out of it because I know my man well and he is quite willing to not drive. Anything that does not require him to do anything is his fondest wish) he hoped that I did not ever need dh to drive me to the hospital. I have been married to him for 35 years and he has not driven me to anything in over 20, I learned how to drive about then. My doctors are all on the edge of town so that I can get to them when I am sick without having to drive in traffic. One time my husband actually forgot to pick me up from the hospital where I had nearly died losing our child. Yep,I am depending on him.

Coff, coff, hack, hack. Actually with pnuemonia you do not coff or hack. You ache, struggle to breathe and do a lot of praying and inhaling.

Pooh, stay away from that 'else' stuff. Have the kids and the bus all gone on their way?

SG/Linda

you didn't have to get me a gift that is so thoughtful of you!!1:hug:

I know so much about monia i get it at least twice a year it stinks!:scared1:

Yes kids got back on the road the following day and they took some extras from me to go along with them. I just couldn't leave them with no food now could I??

I am staying away from everyone right now and when I get home from work I will go straight to bed and take the dogs with me. YEAH!!

Hey Timmy! That's all we get is a short little wave?! Glad to hear your surgery went well. How is recovery going?
I checked out your blog and some of your Disney day trip ohotos... nice pics. It made me desperately wish I could go down for a day trip. I guess I should start looking into it.... RT tickets from here to Orlando really aren't that expensive. I wonder how my hubby & daughter would feel about it?

Anytime you want to take a gals trip let me know i would love to go back very very soon and I think we could talk Timmy and a few others into doing it also.

Pooh, you get pneumonia twice a year? You have lung problems?? If you smoke please make it your resolution to quit. My mom died mid 50's from the same disease I have. I have never smoked that is the difference. I had bought a few things for some of my favorite DIS folks last trip and did not run into a single one of them. I even had bags of stuff for the kids at the Sports and did not find a one. I did give away bags of other stuff to the kids I met in the parks though. That is fun. I have a feeling that those bus kids will remember you for a very long time. It goes to show that there are far more good folks, like you, than the other kind. I hope the dog does not snore so you can get some rest.

Yes I have lung problems too but its just something I have to live with I have a small mass on the lower left side of my left lung and and its not cancerous yet lol but they keep watching it to see if it progresses and no I do not smoke I hate that.

I watched my mom and most of my family (both adopted and bio) smoke and see the problems that they have and see how many I have of them left its not a pretty picture.

Yeah the dogs don't do MUCH snoring but I think I will be okay but I will keep my fingers crossed.

Hey Ang,

Yes I'm feeling 100% better now, I took the last antibiotic last night...I'm free and clear now! :woohoo:

S/G you have monia? Please take care of your self...tell your husband you need some tlc!

Pooh, I hope you feel better soon too...hopefully you do not end up with monia too!

I'm trying to convince my daughter to clean up her playroom right now...it's an on going battle that I normally end up loosing! I've actually put her playroom off limits a few times! I've also threatened to throw everything away in it too! Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get her to clean up her playroom willingly???:confused3

Wic, glad to hear you are feeling better.

I had to lock up DS toy room a few times myself. The only solution I came up with was to take out most of it and let him choose one box of his favorites to keep in there. He just had way too much and it overwhelmed him to have to put things back in their boxes I guess. Now that he is older if he doesn't clean up he doesn't get game privilages and he hates that but he has lost those many times as well. Children gotta love them messes and all. lol

SG and Nancy, take care of yourselves and get rid of that darn pneumonia. I love my saline solution and zicam when I feel a sinus infection coming on. I was also told to make sure to keep the sinuses dried up with meds, I love Aleve cold and sinus, and that seems to help a lot so the dripping doesn't get the best of you and make things worse. This sounds like the ideal reason to move to Florida though doesn't it.

Evie, your back, YEAH. Hi, how have your holiday's been?

Pooh, I am delighted to hear that you do not smoke. My mom died at a much younger age because she did and she and I share the same lung disease. Knowing how I feel I am in awe of how she managed to live so long and do so much as she had much harder circumstances than I do. I do believe that the only way crossed fingers would help with snoring dogs is if you also insert them into your ears. :rotfl2: I hope you are feeling better.

Wic, what worked for me with both my kids and grandkids was that I had a basket and any toys that were not picked up were put in the basket and thus into quarantine for a certain amount of time. My grandkids know that if they do not pick up their toys on one visit they do not get to play with them the next. Consistency is the key. It was also necessary for me to make my bed, pick up MY stuff etc too otherwise it would not work. One benefit of having the kids grown is that I can, occasionally, leave the bed a mess if I am in a big hurry. :thumbsup2 Being a good example is wearing. Yeh, I will get right on my dh giving me some TLC. I am driving myself to the doctor. It is easier than when I have to drive myself to the hospital and figure out how to pay the bills etc. from there and get back home.

angwill, you are totally right with kids having far too much nowadays. I truly believe that much of ADD is caused by such affluence. I believe in the 'a place for everything and everything in its place' principal. My dd complains about my youngest grandson's room but it is because he loves books. The solution is bookcases, which I have offered to buy, but she will not allow it. She only understands that which she agrees with. Very sad. I love books, I understand that and many other things that I know nothing about.

I have buckets of paint and a large ladder to get from the garage. You youngsters do not think that a big deal but it is for me. Wheeze, wheeze.

Thanks for the best wishes and hoping you all get fixed up too.

SG/Linda
