Okay wic I want to have your family oh how I wish I grew up like you:cloud9: it would have been so nice to have a complete family. Good for you!!!1:dance3: :grouphug:

I'll be more than happy to give you my sister! :rotfl2:

She's 5 years older than me, and has always thought she was my mother...sorry have one already, don't need two! We used to fight like cats and dogs when we were under the same roof! Now we just sort of co-exist, neither one of us goes out of our way to speak to the other one! But I would give my arm or leg if my neice or nephew needed it! And she would do the same for Kellie!

So see, even a "perfect" family isn't so perfect all the time!

I do not know how to spell perfect but I feel like most families are 'prefect' in some way or another. My parents stayed married but it would have been far better if they had not. I spent several hours last night talking to my youngest sister who has been in and out of 'treatment' for the past few years. We all have the same story, just different ways of dealing with it. It is possible to love without liking. I have much knowledge of that one.

Seems this time of the year brings out the worst and best in all of us. Expectations that can seldom live up to what we hope for and all.

Wic, I am 22 years older than my youngest sibling. I have been mother to many of them through the years whether they liked it or not. Since mom died several years ago I am all they now have. Seems like most of the help they are willing to take is financial. Not so much the advice so that they can fend for themselves though. :confused3 I think that where there is love there are also hurt feelings. Who cares what a stranger says? Usually. :rolleyes1 Besides those folks who knew us back when really know what buttons to push. :scared:

Pooh, maybe he does know what you want but is just wanting to do things in his own time. Men can be quite fragile and stubborn creatures. I said 'No' for three years and finally figured the only way to get rid of mine was to say 'yes' and see what happened. That is how we got to 35 years later.

Work to be done so that I can do some fun stuff tomorrow.

good morning peeps!!! Is it Valentines day yet ???:rotfl:

Happy Friday to everyone. It is going to snow today(4 to 6 inches) and my commute home will be miserable. I just hope it will not snow tomorrow as I want to go see the baby. She has gained a pound already. They say she is doing really good.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sounds like you have a bit of a snow problem coming your way!! That is awesome news about the baby congrates.

Timmy sorry but not Valentines yet  So how are you feeling now???

Good Morning to everyone else

Good morning!!! Valentines day sounds good right now because then we would ber that much closer to warm weather. Did I mention I hate the cold.

czykid, I am here in Illinois with you and already been out to shovel the two inches that we already got and I bet we get all 4 more that they are predicting. We have a huge driveway and only shovels to move the snow and with them saying this would be wet heavy snow I will shovel in shifts of 2 inches at a time. I literally cried last year when we got about 12 inches of wet snow and it had to be shoveled in layers so I am not chancing that pain again. I am so glad to hear that the baby is doing so well.

As for really good families, the family that adopted me into theirs many years ago when I was a teenager is one of the great families and it is wonderful to see how close they still are. I unfortunatly came from a dysfunction with a capital D family. lol The one good thing with being raised the way I was is that I am much better at handling tragedy and bad situations than my friends who grew up in a really great family environment.

Ang, families, you just gotta love 'em. I think that is a law or something. I heard from my youngest sister during the holidays. No one in the family has heard from her in several years. She has been in treatment programs and such. I have to feel a bit sorry for the 'professionals' who have to deal with one of my family, myself included. :rotfl2: Maybe I am on a roll and will hear from my long lost son too? Heck a mom can hope.

A hint about snow removal, overpay and you will always have someone who wants the job. I pay my grandson a pretty good amount and he prays for snow, in July. It beats the pain or dropping dead of the strain. What would take me a whole day takes him a half an hour or so. Youth, don't you just hate it??? :rotfl: I hope you do not get a whole lot of bad weather and if you do I hope you do not have to get out in it.

crzykid, what wonderful news about the baby. Is she named yet? It is amazing what they can do now and how quickly babies respond. :cloud9:

Timmie, Valentine's Day? Yet another day that is doomed to depress. I do not care for flowers (sneeze) and chocolates cause me to blow up (weight gain). Diamonds depreciate. I am hard to please. :rolleyes1

You would all be proud of me, I think. I have left the house twice in this week. Granted I did actually have some chores to do but I also took some time out to smell the roses. I took myself to a movie one day and today I visited with an old friend and had a Starbucks drink. Nothing happened. The house was still standing and hubby was no worse, nor better, than usual. I felt better though. The corners of the house might not get the toothbrush treatment this week. Hell is freezing over and I do not care, much. :woohoo:

I may go somewhere on Sunday too. Less money to spend at DW though. Always a trade off somewhere. :confused3

Bonz, at this rate I will be ready to head in your direction in a decade or so. :thumbsup2

Actually after the first of the year I will become a slave to the house once more as I have to start on the MBR and the DR. Being so slow and a bit more than handicapped I must find alternative ways to do things so it takes me much, much longer than most. Hope I finish by spring. :rotfl2:

Angwill I am really close to the Wisconsin border and DH has shovel 3 times since this morning. He had the day off. The commute home took me less time today then it does any other day :confused3

The baby's name is Giana Daniella(I think thats how you spell it).

Crzy,
I love the babies name it sounds so Italian.

I think I remember you saying you are north of Chicago. I am south of Rockford. We got about 6 inches yesterday and shoveled twice. DH got fed up with all the snow and said he was buying a plow for our mower so we went out and got one. Now to find chains for the tires.

Funny thing was that the streets were cleaner yesterday afternoon than they have ever been after even less snow so I understand how you got home faster. I think the snow scared people to stay off the road and for some reason the plows were out more than earlier in the year.

We also went to see American Treasure book of secrets and it was excellent as I expected it would be.

SG, Glad to hear you got out sounds like you need to do that more often.

Take care everyone,
Angela

Happy New Year's Everyone!!!:cool1:

Hope everyone had a safe holiday, we stayed in last night and ordered Chinese food. I'm fighting a cold and also have a sinus infection, so it was a pretty lame New Years Eve for me this year...we were in bed by 10! I think I'm getting old! :rotfl2: I recorded Dick Clarks Rockin New Years Eve, so Kellie got to watch Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers this morning...it was almost like being back at their concert again....then again it could have been because she had the volumn blaring each time they sang! :lmao:

Kellie has been dropping hints this morning that she REALLY wants to go to Disney this year.....I justed laughed and said we'll see! We're still debating whether to go in September or in December still. :confused3

Have a good night, back to work tomorrow...I'm kinda getting used to these 3 day work weeks...next week is going to stink!:rolleyes1

Happy new year everyone!!!

Is anyone else having problems with not getting any messages from your subscribed topic on the Dis boards? I had to find an old messge to get to this thread and since they upgraded the computers I have not gotten one message.

Take care everyone and Wic you get better soon. Sinus infections suck the energy out of me so I feel for you.

Thanks Ang, I'm trying to get better...we've been shovelling snow for the past 2 days, so that isn't helping either!

I haven't noticed any issues with the computer, is it me, or did they move the icons around again???? :confused3

Yup me too, I wonder whats up?

Wic,

I hope you feel better, I understand where you are coming from I was in bed from 2 in the afternoon with another headache and got up to eat something around 6ish and then proceeded to the bathroom to :worship: the throne and back to bed I went for the rest of the night.

Mike tried to bring to the dogs to bed around 11 without waking me but that heard its almost impossible:scared1: so I kinda was awake for the new year then out I went again.

I just feel bad that you were sick it just stinks that we have to be sick over a holiday like New Year's Eve.

So it sounds like Kellie really love Hannah and the Jonas Brothers and I know your ears have to be ringing after all the loudness.

so you haven't told her yet that your going to Disney???

Hi Pooh,

You were sick too? Doesn't it stink being sick...I hate it! What I am dreading though, is the first strep throat notice that comes home from school, I'm thinking that Kellie is a carrier because she never get's it, but I do! :headache:

Kellie and her friend loved the HM concert, it really wasn't all that loud...surprisingly! I brought earplugs for all of us, but I didn't even have to pull them out! :thumbsup2

Nope, haven't told her about Disney at all yet! I want to see when and if the free dining plan is announced again..and see how much $$$ I have to spend on getting the pool deck finished this spring, before I commit to a vacation to her! Shawn is telling me it's going to cost $5,000 to extend the existing deck to the pool....which I don't think is accurate at all. But I definately plan on going to Disney at some point in time this year! :woohoo:

Hey I'm not getting notified either!

What's going on????

I'm going to go and jump on the CB boards to see if anyone is complaining over there!

Still not getting notified I just happened to jump back again to see if anyone has posted yet.

Its like a mad house around here today. I have 8 kids from MA that got into a car wreck last night and are stuck here with no money and food so I invited them to come over tonight of some sort of Pasta and Garlic Bread so they have something in the tummys. They are a band on tour so I know if that was my son I would want someone to help him out.
