I read your original post wrong, I thought when you said guess her name..Nancy lol, you were just signing off!

The DOG's name is NANCY, that's funny! :lmao: The poor puppy is going to be all confused with 2 Nancy's in the house!

no worries but if we do keep her mike has already said we will have to change her name.

If you keep her, I think you should change her name to Cinderella, or Cindy! :thumbsup2

I can't believe I'm still at work....those phones have no rung since noon time, no one is working now!

Well, we're still here! The GM left about 30 minutes ago! :headache:

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Don't eat too much tomorrow! :rotfl2:

I'm outta here! :woohoo:

The bad part of working from home is that you can never leave WORK. (4 letter word) I have been working all day and cannot clock out until the stuffing is in the crockpot at midnight. Of course some of you are leaving your paid jobs and going home to cook and clean until late and then back up early in the morning to put on all the finishing touches and then clean it all up after everyone else leaves. God bless you all!!

I like a dog named Cindy. I have a sister named Cindy but then I have six sisters so it would be hard to name anything that was NOT the name of a sister. Mom never named one "Rover" but we have a couple that we have nicknamed that way. :rotfl:

I will dodge the bullets on my way to the country for Thanksgiving tomorrow and see you all Friday when I am not as loopy as I am tonight. :dance3:

May your turkey be as well stuffed as you at the end of tomorrow!!

good morning everyone!

My daughter decided it was a good thing to wake up at 6:00 this morning  So I'm wide awake now.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday, I debated running out to the mall this morning, but then I came to my senses, and just rolled over and went back to sleep until 6. :rotfl2:

Hey S/G hope you dodged all those bullets safely on the way to your families house yesterday, that's extremely scarey!

Have a good day!

Wic, I remember those days. Not so much with my kids who were always big sleepers but my oldest grandson used to wake up in the middle of the night and insist that it was time to get up because he was awake. I almost miss those days. His younger brother, if he woke up early, would go to look out the window and if it was dark climb back into bed. Intelligent fellow he.

I hope those of you who are out shopping are able to get what you went for. We have an outlet mall nearby that opened up at midnight and the road was blocked for miles around. I have someone that is going to pick up something for me today, if they have it in stock. A GPS system, just what I need. Wonder if it would work in the parks? Not that I do not know where everything is but getting there in the fastest time is still not my strong suit. :rotfl:

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was a good one. Haven't been on the computer in the last couple of days. I just seem way too busy.

Today was our big Christmas shopping day and now I am all done buying except for getting something for DH but he is the hardest to buy for or surprise. Did anyone else brave the crowds today? I do not get up at the crack of dawn or before to wait in lines but we got up around 7 and left around 8:30. Did that one year and it will never happen again. I got all but one thing I wanted to get so it wasn't too bad and now I will avoid all stores till after the new year. I go armed with my list and do not waver and buy anything else so I really do save money which is nice. I seem to be the lucky person who gets the last of some sale items every year. Today I got the last of 3things so that was nice for me. It kind of reminds me of Disney with people everywhere and having to dodge in and out and still be polite at the same time. lol Only difference is there are more grumpy people out today than seem to be at Disney.

SG, Our mall was a total mess too that's why I avoid the mall at all costs.

Wic, Since you were up early you should have had your DD get on her clothes and go shopping with you. lol

I read that some of you are going to Disney right before Christmas and I am so jealous. I hope you all have a wonderful time though and I would love to hear the details when you return.

Angela

Angela, I hear you about the shopping. I am that point in life when I have little shopping to do. I had my youngest grandson pick out his present this summer and my oldest grandson needs cash, lots of cash, as he just got his license. My daughter told me what she and the sil want so she is going to pick it out and tell me how much. I gave her a subscription card for a magazine I like. All our trips to Disney are my dh's presents. I spent my own money to buy a new digital camera, desk chair and GPS system for the car so all is set here. I give magazine subscriptions and such to other folks. I used to do it all. Those days are over and I nearly am myself. :) Sounds as if you have things under control in your house also. I used to book places I knew my dh would like for mini vacation around the holidays and he liked that fine. Maybe that might be a good idea for yours?? Mine has no hobbies or interests other than eating so it is the same old, same old each year.

We are headed back to Disney very soon. Plenty of room in the backseat. You are welcome to hitch a ride. Heck, if you will do some of the driving I would be delighted.

SG/Linda

Magazines sound like a nice gift then you keep getting a new one every month so they have to think of you at least once a month, right. I like that idea.

I wish my DH liked vacations but truth is he is too much of a workaholic to want a getaway. He is really impossible. No hobbies except work and he has everything he needs. I have to give him the death look when he opens gifts from DS so he is reminded not to say something ignorant about not needing what he gives him. He just doesn't think sometimes. I had him buy me a shiatsu massaging seat cushion for my chair so I made it easy for him.

The only time I was ever able to actually surprise him and give him something he really enjoyed and never knew he wanted was on our last Disney trip. It was our 12th anniversary and his birthday during the trip so the last night I made dining plans at Coral Reef and had the diver go down with a sign that on one side said Happy anniversary and the other said Happy birthday. They also made him a menu with pictures I emailed over of DH, DS and I over the years. He was so impressed and I was thrilled that I finally was able to give him a gift he truly enjoyed for the first time ever. I will get him to love Disney at least somewhat as much as I do. lol

As for the hitching a ride... I could be like one of the hitch hiking ghosts in haunted mansion. I will wish myself there and be there in mind but not in body. December is way too busy for our business and lately our employees are costing us more than they are making us.

I am hoping to get down to Disney at the end of May but I am waiting to see what AP discounts come out because my economical side is fighting to go in August instead due to how much more May costs. Only problem with August is we would go down beginning of August come back and then leave again two weeks later for our Free dining reservation. I have always wanted to go for the flower and garden show too. I so enjoy the gardens at Disney. We will see.

good morning gals,

yes did the shopping thing was way before the crack of dawn and out before the sun ever knew that she was supposed to rise and shine :rotfl: and aless I am one of those stupid people who go out every year and fight with all those horrible crowds but the "PRIZES" are well worth it to me I guess. I got a FREE MP3 player for being the first 10 people into Old Navy which they gave out wrist bands to 90 people but the catch was you had to spend 20 bucks oh well did that and more :lmao:.

So off to Radio Shack were I was first in line to get Mike's new camera and tripod so we can retire the old cannon that doesn't have a flash on it so now when we go to Disney in Dec. I can take pictures of food in the restur. and can show all the food porn I want:lmao:

As far as turkey day went for us we had take out and I had roast beef and Mike had chicken and dumplins:lmao: this is the first year that we have ever done something like this:scared1: with making that huge feast for the shop the day before and doing all the clean up I really wasn't in the mood to cook and with us fostering another greyhound (she is very young)its a bit crazy in our house at the moment but I kinda like it that way:scared1:

Going to go look for our christmas tree today after work of course (god forbid I don't come in here to work this place would collapse without me and Mike I swear:lmao:)then I think I am going to crash and burn in bed I can't see straight now so by 4 tonight this should be funny.

Have a wonderful weekend to you all and will try and catch up with you later.

Nancy

angwill, when Reader's Digest offers you gift subscriptions at about $3 each for a year you grab it and run!! That is what I gave nearly everyone this year and when you consider that I did not have to wrap or pay to mail anything I got a bargain. My dh and I both have large families and I cannot afford to buy for each and everyone like I used to now that we are retired. I am extremely good at stretching a dollar, professional one might even say. :teacher: My husband has always been a vacationaholic. He once threatened to quit work if we did not go on a vacation way back in the day. Silly me, just because our bathroom did not work and I thought it more important to fix that than to go on a weeks vacation. :confused3 The Coral Reef present sounded wonderful. The best presents are memories. Tom will take anything anyone gives him. Each and every Christmas Eve he grabs his presents first, unwraps them and puts them in a neat pile, carries them into the bedroom and then heads to the kitchen to watch TV while the grandkids and the rest of us continue to unwrap our presents and visit. Has always been thus. I prefer to go when it is cheaper too but because a dear friend of mine will be there in June I will have to be there then no matter the cost. I am trying to get them to reconsider the dates though.

Pooh, congrats on winning the MP3 player. I got my new camera yesterday from Amazon. It does everything I expected and more. It will take me a year to learn about all the features. I love gadgets. What kind of camera did you guys get? Someone grabbed one of the GPS units that WM had on sale for me yesterday so I have that to play with as well. Maybe I will be able to figure out how to get from Sports to EPCOT and back with one of those. I get lost awfully easily and always end up on the interstate coming back from EPCOT. :scared1: Old habits die hard but not all traditions should be kept at the cost of your sanity. Good for you guys in having a peaceful and lazy day. New traditions can be good too.

I am hoping to get part of the TR that I wrote all day long yesterday posted today or tomorrow at the latest. I have to upload a million pictures first. Is there an easier way than Photobucket?

Thanks S/G we got another Cannon 7.1 megapixels its more megapixels then we have with our old one better features and over half the costs of what I paid for the old one go figure.:scared:

Pooh, I got a Canon Powershot A560 7.1 MP also with a 4x Optical Zoom for $126 from Amazon and they threw in a 4 battery charger and batteries too. I will not look around any more as it would kill me to see if for less elsewhere. Locally I can go get a refund but I do not think they do such on line.

Sounds like we will both be able to take great Food Porn pics although most pictures have already been taken by others.

I just posted the first installment of my TR if anyone is interested. Just an introduction. I hope to upload some pics to add to the rest of the report.

Yardwork is calling. I keep trying to ignore it but for the sake of my neighbors I best not.

Just had my Garmin delivered so I have another toy to learn today. Christmas came early for me. :santa:

Hey Pooh!

I've been playing catch up at work, we had 2 days off last week...so now I'm swamped!

Maybe your Prince Charming will come through for you on this trip to WDW! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :yay:

I saw the lights on the castle on the Disboards, it's gorgeous...I'd love to see it in person too, but that's not going to happen this year! :sad1: Right now we are still planning on going next September though! :thumbsup2
