My DH took the kids camping and left the house at 9:42 am this morning. By 11:00 am, I had booked the cruise. See what happens when I am left alone!

Got an email response from DVC re points. The response was to call MS. I called MS and was told that the cruise will probably be available for points. It was suggested I keep checking the Member Site on a regular basis, top see if the points get listed. I was also told to call October 17 to see if it would be possible to book on points. The caveats being availability, and that cash reservation can not be converted. So will have to wait till October 17 to see.

Given past experience with the May repo cruise, I have a very good feeling that it will be available.

Can you tell me how the DVC points work on the cruise Scott. We have only 225 per year.. Do you think that would only pay for 1 person?

I need to save some because we'll probably stay before of after the cruise

I might have to look into Dive Quest again before this cruise. Lesley, you might want to try it also. It was a lot of fun.

Deb, I know you can use points and cash. No clue as to how it may effect your current reservation, I would venture to guess that you would have to rebook with points and cash, then cancel your current cash reservation.

I have no idea as to how many points this will take. One good thing is that this sailing is off season. So they might not be that bad.

A possible idea would be to rent your points and use the $$$ for your cruise. Some folks think this is a good way to go. Personally I haev never rented points and don't want the hassel, that is just me, as others have had great luck in doing so.

I don't think we'll use our points. I don't want to loose our reservation and hoping to rebook while on board and get ship board credit. Thanks for the info though.

Anyone else in So.Cal. get the big double booms this morning. It's been a long time since a shuttle has landed at Edwards. I'm guessing that lots of people were a little surprised this morning when the sonic booms hit. The booms hit us 3 minutes after my alarm clock went off.

After waiting for the landing 2 1/2 years ago in the parking lot of the Space Center, I am so very glad this one touched down safely... in the early morning no less! And...you got to hear it! That must have been great!
