BTW, I am in southern Indiana now. Walking......

Oh My God! You guys are actually walking all that distance??? Are there any pictures of the trip? how are you taking all of your things? And the snow???

Wow!! Good luck, you'll need the 11 days to thaw out by the time this is completed :thumbsup2

Count them however you want. Everyone does it differently. Some wear pedometers, some convert aerobic exercise to mileage, everyone is different. I only count miles I do while exercising: hence what I do on the treadmill or the gym. I decided not to include miles I do at work (average 10-14 per day) because I was already doing those and I want my mileage to be towards getting healthier and getting ready for another half marathon in August and then WDW in January.

IMoso- sorry we aren't actually walking to Disney- we are just doing it symbolically. You figure out your mileage to WDW and then track it. So like my signature line says I'm in Indiana, I've walked enough miles from where I live in Northern Illinois to now be in Indiana. Hope this clears up the confusion. It is from one of the boards on the WISH section of the Dis.

Hi everyone. I'm currently booked onthis cruise and on the 10 day. I asked for advice on which cruise to go on in thre main DCL board, and everyone told me this is the one. I'm still thinking about which one I really want (considering time and money), but I'll have to make a decision soon!!! :confused3

Hey guys - not on your cruise, though I wish I was (I am insanely jealous - but alas I will be cruing in 65 days and you all have how long to wait.....), but I digress, I just did a review of St. Kitts for someone [oh and lookie here, it was jstevens who was asking :teeth: ] trying to decide which long cruise to do and I thought, hmmmmm :scratchin , maybe the southern cruisers may want to see it too so here it is:

St Kitts is now my favorite of any Caribbean island. I LOVED it! I was simply blown away by the beauty of the island. It has these spectacular cliffs and an amazing beach on the spit of land between the handle of the paddle and the main oar part (when you look at the island it looks like a cricket mallet or an oar) and we loved the people of the island.

We simply took a local taxi and had him take a bunch of us on a tour of his island! What a great decision! I now recommend this at any of the islands, but on St. Kitts it was an immeasurable treat to learn about his life, his treasures on the island, and see the regular spots that tourists would go to like the Batik museum, the fort,
st_kitts2.gif

and the Trafalger Square.

The beach we went to was something straight out of Hawaii for its huge mountainous volcanic peaks jutting out of the landscape to the immense sandy areas with waves crashing. Just gorgeous! It's a very poor island, but the people are lovely.

I really can't wait to get back.

So that is my review - I hope this helps.

This is a view of both the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea and the beach I was referring to. The vistas are amazing!

Castlegazer. That you for the wonderful description. It looks like you love St. Kitts like I love St. Lucia. I hope we decide on this cruise, because that is land looks excellent!

I have to say that I don't think it compares to St. Lucia, there's not much to do and it's not a the best island to bring kids as there is not much to do but the beaches on the Caribbean side are calm and beautiful and the batik musuem is worth a visit and kids would enjoy it, but it's just a beautiful island, pretty much unspoiled still, and the vistas are worth seeing. But you have to get out and about - not stay in Basseterre.

jstevens001, of course this is the cruise to choose, it is the KEWL one for sure. Just my opinion.

castlegazer, thanks for the St Kitts info. On this cruise we will be going to some new islands and are trying to decide whether to dive or explore the island. Decisions, Decisions. Will have to see what is offered. A chance to dive a new location is always of interest to us, but a new island and new people is also of interest.
