However, there might be a rat...who's team are you sitting for?

Kitster, not familiar with Thrify at the Port. Avis also offers a shuttle and at WDW it is easy for us to drop the car at the Hilton. Curious, is there a thrifty location at WDW? Alamo , sadly just two many bad experiences with them, basically waiting two hours in line to get a car.
Here's the address for the Thrifty office in Cape Canaveral:
CAPE CANAVERAL, FL USA (MU2)
6799 N. ATLANTIC AVENUE
CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA 32920
UNITED STATES
(321) 783-2600

Unfortunately the airport office is off property and they have no offices at Disney either. The closest one to WDW is:
KISSIMMEE, FL, USA (ISM)
2900 PARKWAY BLVD
RADISSON HOTEL
KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA 34747
UNITED STATES
(407) 390-1596

We normally use National when we go to WDW because it's wonderful to just walk out and pick up our car. However, for this trip, we've reserved a Chrysler Pacifica for $34/day and we just couldn't pass it up. We've rented from Thrifty before and it was painless, even with the shuttle ride to the rental facility.

However, there might be a rat...who's team are you sitting for?

Just us good guys.

Thanks Kitster, for the Thrifty info. The rate is very good. I just checked our Avis reservation and got a "full size" for $39. (AARP rate) Gotta have room for all that cruise stuff. :teeth: Will drop it at WDW and will later use ME to get to MCO.

So- I just booked a reservation for a car from WDW to PC. I can't decide if we should rent a car to come back to the resort after or drive??? :scratchin We plan on using the Magical express back to the airport from the resort. :scratchin I also told Robb that I wanted to plan on using one of the approved airlines so we could check our bags from the resort and not have to deal with those either. ::yes:: Does anyone remember how much transfers are with DCL? I know I don't want to use them going to the boat- but maybe back woudn't be so bad. Any suggestions? :hyper2:

:sunny: Good Morning Everyone :sunny:
Just checking in see if I've missed anything.
Crisp cool morning here in the heartland. 27° and sunny. Used the hot tub for the first time this year. Almost couldn't see the sun for all the fog. :sad2:
Kinda reminded me of the mornings on the pacific leg of the WB repo cruise. Kinda. :teeth:

Seems like the repo thread is more livelier than this won.
Aaaaaah! The Thread That Wouldn't Die!

Everyone have a great day.

What's one of the "good guys" doing up posting at 4:30 mst?
Puppy potty break? Tippy gets up that early, but I try and get her thru it as soon as possible and get back to the bed.

Getting ready for an 8 hour drive. And the pups did not want to sleep any longer. Say hi and bye to Lynn before I took off.

I suppose I should join in on all the fun. My hubby and I will be on this cruise. It will be our 5th Disney cruise. We LOVE cruising. I am Michelle and my hubby is Eric. We don't have any kids. Just us.

How do I get on the list and get the newsletter?

I know that the round trip cost for DCL transfers is $59 per person. I'm not sure if they offer 1-way transfers or not. The best thing to do would be to contact either DCL directly or your travel agent, if you booked thru one.

We only did a 4-day cruise last year, so we simply parked the rental car at the port and were off to WDW by 9am on the day we returned. It was actually cheaper to park the car than to have 2 separate reservations. The year before, we rented from National and waited forever for the shuttle to arrive at the port, then stood in line forever at the office (no Emerald Aisle in Cocoa Beach :( ). Hopefully it won't be as bad at the Thrifty office this time.

DH and I are taking but bus back to MCO after the cruise - we have 1:00 flights and it really is nice to be able to do the airline check-in at the port. Much less hassle than renting a car just to get back to the airport. One-way transfers were $30.00 each.
