September 17, 2006 - 11 Night Southern Caribbean Part 4

Mike the belated celebrations sounds like a plan,

Pretty darn excited this morning, so here I am waiting for the coffee shop to open.

It has benn fantastic to see one and all again, making plans for future trips, enjoying DL etc etc etc…..

All the DVC people have no Idea about the CA DVC property. Seems they have briefed the bell hops and security folks about it LOL…..Looks like we will be getting more points in about a year or so.

I wish the race would start sooner as it will be rather warm, incentive to finish early.

Well best of luck to fellow racers, coffee shop is opening.

Race results to follow, unless Ken posts some live results.

Lynn is still sleeping,

Have a great day Kiddies……

Happy Anniversary Mike & Kathy!!!

Good luck Scott & Lynn!!

Happy Labor Day to everyone!!

Mike and Kathy...

Hope you enjoy your belated anniversary on the Magic!

(Happy Labour Day for our Canadian friends)

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Been great here. Will be a bit warmer today and the next couple of days. Will get out soon to enjoy the day.

Yesterday, we went to my Grandson Payton and the family. Played football catch with him. He is all excited about playing football this year. Today, I am feeling it. Bad ankle, bad knee. Old age. No 1/2 marathons for me for a while. :rotfl2: :sad2:

Speaking of which....congratulations Scott on the 1/2 at DL. Must have been great just participating. Looking forward to your time. I'm sure that you did well. Lynn too.

Also, I am a fan of the comic strip, "For Better or For Worse" by Lynn Johnston. It is always fun to read. Got a real chuckle out of Friday's edition. She mentioned Butter Tarts and I immediately thought of Margaret, Elaine's mom. Never knew such things existed until they were mentioned on the boards. Never had one until Margaret sent some to the 11 night cruise for Joe (DPD's husband), Scott and me to enjoy. Yummy. Thanks again.

Happy Anniversary Kathy and Mike.
Here's to many more:thumbsup2

Mike, change of plans today. Was just going to stay home and cook out....all day. I guess we are heading to a street fair latter on, so probably no cook out. I think it is one of those chicken and ribs things.

BOB totally KEWL avatar, might have to steal that one from ya. YUMMY BUTTERTARTS!!!! sounds kinda like a Python thing.....

WE DID IT!!!!!! Along with about 13000 folks LOL

IT WAS HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!! Red flag day. I must have leaked 400 gallons of sweat. I did see three (3) people go down during the race. And several after they finished. I would guess all heat related.

We learned a lot about how to dress, prep etc.

Oh Times, Lynn was in at 3:29:00 and I did it in 2:51:04. In looking at the final results I was about the middle of my age group and we are both happy with our results.

The Disney folks did a great job and a letter will follow with compliments.

After the race we cleaned up and went to CA and rode CA Screaming, it was still pretty hot as the thermometer on the elevator said 110, later we learned the temp had gotten up to 105, official temp that is. Went for lunch at Rain Forrest, and then hit the pool, Then back to DL for the evening to drift around and catch short lines for attractions. There is the new Honda robot at Inoventions that we will try to catch today. Crowds still light.

So yesterday it was “please keep you hand and arm inside the vehicle at all times and hang on to those finishing medals”

More later,

Bob...that is too funny that you should mention the comic strip....we actually had a laugh at my house because my Mom does make raisin free buttertarts for my sister-in-law!!!!! just an FYI.....Lynn Johnston used to live in a town that is 20 minutes from where I live and some of the places that they visit in the "strip" are local places to us!!!!!!

Have enjoyed that strip for a long time. Funny, even when she is writing about serious stuff. And the family does age unlike a lot of the strips out there. (how old are Family Circus kids anyway :lmao: )

I think that I wrote on the boards ontime that she is one of my favorite Canadians. No Josh isn't on the list.:sad2:

Bumping it up.

Cold and cloudy here in WY today. Fall is in the air.

We finally got a little rain this morning.

Kathy's son in law is in the hospital. He had two stints put in the front side of his heart due to blockages, and tomorrow he is going to have 5 stints put in on the backside of his heart. He has diabetes, and is 49 years old. Mike

Mike sorry to hear about Kathy's son in law. That's too young and too many stents.

Beautiful day in Wisconsin! Sun is shining, breeze in blowing. All in all a nice day!

just giving us a little bump from almost the bottom of page two.....that will never do!!!!!!!!
