Defeated by my SILs' slow connection (excuse #1), the high humidity (excuse #2), and the dual mugging from webray and Bob/Lee (excuse #3). So - I'll stop right there so I can save my creative material for the sequel .... How long will you be in Hawaii

I'm planning on going back over in January or February - haven't narrowed it down to the week yet. Went last October and stayed at the Hale Koa and absolutely loved it.

Can't wait to get back.

Scavenger Hunt - any updates?

ok now I scrolled further down and saw the following:

Pirates Night - Sept. 24th, will be in St. Kitts
Formal Nights: Sept. 19th and Sept. 26th
Tropical Night: Sept. 20th, will be in St. Thomas
but then further down I see

September 19th is Pirate day. Just the actual day according to Someone on our cruise it will be held Sept. 24th.

Okay, first, I don't know about a pirate day on the 19th. Maybe someone tomorrow will read and reply if there is one. I read that the Pirate photo (Pirate DIS meet) is tentatively, I believe to occur between the Main and Late Dining on Sept. 24 (Pirate Night). Sorry, I can't help with the scavenger hunt -

We definitely dock in St Lucia and Antigua...been there before. And according to my 2006 Frommer's Caribbean Cruises and Ports of Call, Barbados has a "modern and newly expanded cruise ship terminal". So no tendering on this trip!

I have a question. Now that we can't bring wine (and my beloved PEPSI) in carry-on luggage.....what is the risk involved with putting it in my checked luggage for the flight from Phoenix? Will champagne explode?

I'm only at 488 with this posting... so I got a loOOOOooooogggg Way to go. Plus - with the nominal terminal time I have out here in "paradise" .... watchin' the 3 kids on vacation (a young cousin or 2 always joins us everywhere we go)... it's just like juggling live mice 'round here! But I love the journey... it is really quite beautiful here - all kidding aside I was musing with my spouse last nite about why shouldn't we just "hang it up" and move here to Honolulu - live the Westward side on the sand - or take a blue water view and just quit this channel surfin' life we lead? Well... life really isn't all that bad... but it WOULD be nice to be among so many honey sweet family members.

ANd on another note... I vaguely recall someone asked about whether I'd done the down hill bike ride off the volcano on Maui... and yes ... we have done it. This was about 11 years ago on our honey-moon. We did a time share presentation (our 1st) and they spiffed us a pair of down hill rides AND one circle island helicopter ride. Which in retrospect was a bit more than the usual $50 cash or $100 gift certificate now commonly offerred. I know - it seems unusual - but that's how I remember it. I'll have to ask my spouse what she remembers about that deal when she gets back from the kick-boxing thing with her sister.

.... so ... back to desperately futile gestusture of reading backwards a few pages before I run off again for the afternoon.... and fall back again in the stifling dust of all you rampaging DIS folk...!

We really SHOULD have gotten an ESPN endoresment contract... this IS more than a side show with all the daily human melo-drama, good cheer and humor! LOL!!!!

Funny how Coke and Pepsi seem to be a love/hate kind of thing. I would take water before drinking a Coke - or go without maybe. And I know that the Coke drinkers feel the same about Pepsi.

My wife has a die hard coke drinker and converted to Pepsi, although she still swears mcDonalds has the best Coke ever...

Pardon me - but what exactly IS a count-down chain? I mean - we have what ... 27 days to go? And what more can be done than count the days... or possibly hours? I cannot see how any faster cout-doan would be entertaining or retasked into an entertaining diversion? Please forgive my ignorance - as I am a virtual newbie with this being only our 2nd sailing on DCL in the company of DIS folk.
