I have been contacted this morning by my contact with DCL that our

PALO BRUNCH RESERVATIONS HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED:

FOR September 25th at 10:00 o'clock a.m.

FOR Septmeber 26th at 10:00 o'clock a.m.

I will be sending a note to everyone that has requested Brunch for the group on either one of these days - It may take me a couple of days to get all the PM's out, as I have to be at the hospital many days this week with my husband who is not feeling too well and has many tests to go through this week. But they will get out by the end of this week for sure.

WANTED TO POST ON THE THREAD ALSO - to let everyone know that DCL has requested that if you have individual Brunch reservations already, that you kindly cancel them, since the group Brunch(s) have been confirmed now.

Everyone will get a note in their "fish extenders" once we get onboard also

Basically you get ferried from the boat to the port. Never actually done it myself but my parents did last year but I can't remember where this was and nor can they.

We might decide to go on a later trip if this is the case as it takes so long to get off and you'd have to que early in the morning. Most of our trips at the moment are really early

ugghh, that's what I was afraid of...so we need to consider that on getting off AND getting back to the ship.....oh no, why don;t they tell you these things before you make excursion plans.

do we know where this happens and how long it actually takes? do they give priority to people with early excursions, what if they are not DCL?

I'm so overwhelmed with all the happenings going on i decided to put everything into my Outlook Calendar, days and times we are in port, excursion times, DIS events, etc.

Pirate Night Dis Meet - when is this? date/time not indicated

Scavenger Hunt - any updates?

Final decisions on timing have yet to be determined. But, here is the timeline we are working on:

The scavenger hunt will be distributed to your fish extenders, either the St Kitts night (Depending on pirates deck party timing, etc), or first thing the next morning. On the hunt will be instructions on when, and where, to return your answers. Generally, we try to give you at least 24 hours, so you can complete it at your leisure. Winners, and prizes(!) will be announced once we have had a chance to grade everyone's answers.

The scheduled execution of Adrienne, Steve (Corwin17) and I, for torturing you all, will begin shortly there after. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Being 'tendered' to shore is not a problem, they usually have 2 or 3 and sometime 4 boats running all the time...DCL takes into account of all excursions. They have you meet in a certain place on the ship and they escort ever group shore. Plus, you have a great photo op of the ship on the way back, I have a picture of the Magic as my background on my computer. Nothing like seeing the ship anchored all by itself with nothing in the background but ocean. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

sounds good, but question though, will the hunt provide ample opportunity for us newbies to have a chance, considering there are people where DCL is there second home, there might be some distinct advantages there :rotfl:

We had to tender with DCL when we were at Grand Cayman last year. DCL planned excursions get priority. Each DCL excursion has a check in location somewhere on the ship. After everyone has checked in they escort you down to deck 1 where you disembark onto the tenders. Once the majority of the excursions have left for shore, they will announce that the tenders are now open to those wishing to go ashore on their own or for shopping. Although I'm sure if you have a confirmation for a shore excursion through someone on the island that they will let you off in time for the excursion, just be sure to bring some sort of confirmation down with you. It's a pretty easy process really.

The East-Coasters may be able to answer this more definitively this afternoon, but my interpretation of the Google Earth pics are:

For sure DOCKS = St. Kitts, St. Thomas (large ships visible at docks) and, of course, Castaway Cay
Probable Docks = Antigua and Barbados (no Ships there, but appears deep enough)
UNKNOWN = St. Lucia (obscured by clouds)

We definitely dock in St Lucia and Antigua...been there before. And according to my 2006 Frommer's Caribbean Cruises and Ports of Call, Barbados has a "modern and newly expanded cruise ship terminal". So no tendering on this trip!

That is great know! Thanks for the info.

I remember finding a link (let's hope I bookmarked it at home) that said we were the only ship in all the ports except St. Thomas. Tracy is correct - we did dock in Antigua when we went in 2004 so I would think if my memory is correct and the website is correct we will be fine there. I have never been to our other destinations so I don't know if we will tender or not.

Absolutely! Believe me when I say that 'second home' knowledge of the ship is not necessarily an advantage. We really try to keep it so that there is a good chance for everyone to finish successfully. And, unlike our regular game, you have time to do it at your leisure.

If you want to get a flavor of what the main game is like, we have a good run down here: http://www.mouseplanet.com/mouseadventure/. The MouseAdventure on the High Seas will be a bit more low key, and hopefully not quite as stressful.

I thought Tracy said they "...didn't tender in Antigua...."

LOL...we're going to get our Tracy's and Stacey's mixed up!

Tracy and I both said that we WILL DOCK in Antigua. We will be docking at all of the ports. No tendering for us! :thumbsup2

sounds good, maybe slipping this group a few extra bottles of wine will slow them down, on second thought it just might speed them up :rotfl:

I have a question. Now that we can't bring wine (and my beloved PEPSI) in carry-on luggage.....what is the risk involved with putting it in my checked luggage for the flight from Phoenix? Will champagne explode?

I did, and she did :) We will be docking in Antigua.
