YEAH BUT, think of all the good times you'll miss not hanging out in the hallways at 3 or 4am with your fellow DISers????

They could still do the RSP thing on these special cruises, like at pin events..after everyone is on board and in their staterooms. Just leave the rsp form in the cabin the first night and away we go. Still, no standing in lines and wasting time.

RE the pins for our cruise, Why didn’t they put Mickey in a Grass Skirt????? :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

If they did put Mickey in a grass skirt, Lilo (nad possibly Stitch) could get upset. Don't want to start any character fights. Alex

Those are cool. So one per person, I can handle that. I still think they should use my idea for special cruises. They need to send out brochures with pics and descriptions of all the special merchandise available. Then you would have a deadline before the cruise to place your order and everything would be waiting in your stateroom (like CC gifts) and you could either pay before you get there or have charged to your onboard account. It's also limited to 1 per person for each item. This way there's no fighting. There would be supply onboard for exchanges up to a certain point and then what remains would go on sale to whoever.

Good suggestion Emily. The pin on the left is for the 10 night cruise and the one on the right is for our cruise. Mike

I would hope that Brent (Cruise Director for our cruise) would do everything he could to prevent it - since he was on the Magic for "SLUMBER PARTY I - The Original!!!!" and got an ear full from many of us.

Ken

Alex, very good, now that would also be scary. :teeth:

Emily great idea, :thumbsup2 but sadly I must agree with the others. :confused3

Slumber Party I was a surprise to me, got up (5:30 -6:00) and went for a run only to find the line, and what a line it was. I was amazed. Went and checked on folks I knew and offered to get them coffee and stuff, only to learn DCL had taken care of those items.

Also, if ya haven’t RSVP for the pre cruise wine and cheese party please do so, if ya can. Also should your plans change and you haven’t RSVP’d please feel free to stop on by. Again, will post location as soon as we get checked in on 9/14. It will be at OKW

Gotta run, and have a SCUBA class tonight. so TTFN, it’s a jungle out there kiddies, have a very fruitful day..... :sunny: :sunny:

Didn't do that on the Panama cruise, lol...I like a nice comfy bed.

The only drawback is it would probably require a full time person to assemble orders, pkg them in Disney fashion, anything less is not Disney, and then distribute. Then with last minute upgrades, room changes, it could be a logistical nightmare......guess its easier just to have everyone walk to the giftshop and buy what they want when they want it, despite any inconveniences :sad2:

Actually, on the last DVC owner's cruise in Sept. 2006, they did exactly that. Everything was on pre-order through DVC. Only difference was is that you called DVC, placed your order, gave them your credit card and then when you got on the ship the merchandise was all sitting on your bed in your stateroom. Worked like a charm! DVC loved it. Don't know if the CM's loved it though. They all got to the port at 4 a.m. and got everything assembled and then delivered to all the staterooms before boarding.

Oh...and since we prepaid and had to pay to DVC in Florida we had to pay sales tax on everything. That was the only drawback.

Someone had posted loooooong ago that this tour as well as the Eli ECO Tour were completely booked but I am passing along the info that there are spaces available on the Extreme Tour.

Contact Fran for more info info@antiguaadventures.com

website

The Xtreme Circumnav - Using our 45 ft offshore racing boat, specifically designed for our excursion.

Eli Fuller of Adventure Antigua has finally come up with another Adventure to match his wildly popular Eco-Tour. You have probably heard all about the Eco-Tour which was designed to be a re-creation of Eli's childhood days, spent exploring the secret spots of the North Sound. This new Xtreme tour takes adventurers right around Antigua's rugged, 365 beach coastline. Count them if you can!

Eli designed this tour to stay within the same theme of his famous Eco-Tour, but to be different enough for you to enjoy both on the same vacation. The main highlights of this Xtreme adventure, making it totally unique, are the high speed Miami Vice style run, through the amazing islands of the north sound with its myriad coral reefs, the Stingray City Marine Park swim where you can have your picture taken actually holding one of these ancient and beautiful fish; the Robinson Crusoe style, buffet lunch at Green Island with your toes in the water; the tour of Nelson's Dockyard with your own on-board local historian; the guided snorkel trip at the awesome Pillars of Hercules with its volcanic boulders below the surface, and the swim and beach combing at the extremely secluded and beautiful Rendezvous Bay. This tour is done within the same timeframe as the Eco-Tour, and we manage to do this because our newest boat is FAST. Between stops our new boat will race you past the beaches and shores of Antigua so you'd better be a quick counter to get the 365!

There are however a few things you have to keep in mind before you decide to go on this tour because, like the Eco-Tour, this tour is not for everyone.

1) The boat is a high performance 45-foot power boat using three, eco-friendly, 225hp Four Stroke Yamaha engines that sip fuel. Top cruise speed is an exhilarating 40 MPH which we will be doing passing the islands of the North Sound. If you "feel the need for speed" then this will be your favorite part of the trip! But if high speed thrills have never been your thing, then you would definitely be happier on the slower paced Eco-Tour.

2) Although the boat has been designed for offshore racing, the 5 mile run from Stingray City to our Lunch Spot on the North of Green Island could be a little "bumpy" for some. This tour is not recommended if you are preganant. However, if you are the extreme kind of person who likes some excitement and wants to experience what an offshore powerboat race feels like then the spray of this wild, open water section will keep you smiling.

3) This isn't the booze cruise your parents did in the "good old days". If you are "young at heart" (and not "faint of heart") it could just be the thrill of a lifetime. With five stops along the 50 miles run around the island this tour is action packed.

So if you are up for some extreme action and are loving the idea of getting into the water with dozens of very friendly rays (they will come up and touch you!!), and if the image of that 40mph burst past the islands of the North Sound, and the adventurous ride in the Atlantic - if all this turns you on… then you are an ideal candidate for the Xtreme adventure! ….. And speaking about booze, we do serve our famous Eco-Tour rum punch, but only at the end of the tour when the adventure is drawing to a close.

Our new Xtreme adventure is unbeatable as a way to see the coastline of our beautiful island and it could definitely be the most fun you have ever had on a holiday excursion.

Nov-May US $170 - Snorkeling gear, food and drinks are provided.

so there is obviously not enough pins for all the people crusiing right? I'm assuming there are more than 1500 people on the cruise but I don;t know the ships capacity

will they be handing out vouchers or something, will they be avail at midnight?

Didn't you hear?

You will need to get in line after the Welcome Aboard party down on Route 66. At about 11:45 p.m. the Cruise Director will come out and stamp your hand to verify you are in line. (NO stamp on hand, no voucher received)About midnight, all the CM's (including ship's officers) will come with cameras (both digital and video) taking pictures of 500 people in line in jammies. Around 1 a.m. DCL starts plan of action to deliver food and drinks to those in line. Around 2 a.m. all the bedding from all the staterooms is down Route 66 all the way through the atrium. Around 6 a.m. rolls, juice and coffee are delivered. At 8 a.m. vouchers are handed out to the "lucky" passengers, so then we can go get in another line later on to pick up all our pins!
