September 13th Dream

Hi all! I have a question. After being bitten by the DCL bug in July on the Dream, (1st time) my DH and I are contemplating the Sept 13th 3 night without the kids for an anniversary getaway. We had a blast aboard with our children in July but we need some alone time! Anyway, my question is since we will be away from the kids and I know there is no cell service on Castaway Cay, have any of you ever used the ship to shore or vice versa while cruising to talk to anyone back home? What kind of charges are involved?? I'm a nervous nelly and will new to check in with the in-laws daily regarding the DS and DD! Thanks!!!
