Thanks Jan! We are looking at September 4th right now. Trying to find a reception place. The ceremony will be at my church.

I don't need a big hoopla of a wedding so I'm thinking I can get it done in less than a year. Its just a matter of finding a reception place that hasn't been booked over a year in advance.

P.S when I get home today, I'll find a pic of Dan and I to add to the thread.
P.P.S your granddaughter is adorable!! princess:

Sept. 4 is a great day. That's my b-day too.:lmao: :thumbsup2 Good luck finding a reception place. I'm sure you'll find a beautiful location.:bride:

Can you have the reception in the social hall (or whatever they call it) of the church? That is what we did.

THANKS EVERYONE for the kind words about the baby. Sophie lives 700 miles away. We are driving over Christmas Day.

We just returned from a 10-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera/Sea of Cortez, which was very relaxing. Our goal was just rest and relaxation.

There were six ports and we did not book a single excursion. At three ports -- Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas -- Mrs. Woody did not even get off the ship. (Been there, done that.) I went sightseeing in each of the port towns, and even saw the cliff divers in Mazatlan from the adjacent sidewalk.

While the Holland America "Ryndam" is NOT the Disney "Magic," it doesn't carry the Disney price tag either. Our cruise fare for 10 nights in an ocean view cabin (equivalent to Cat. 9) was $599 pp plus tax and port charges. We spend that much on airfare, hotel, and a rental car just to get to the Magic.

Some of the highlights on the Ryndam were fresh squeezed orange juice, a "made to order" eggs Benedict station at the buffet (with 5 or 6 samples on display, like at Palo), two omelette stations at the buffet, hand scooped ice cream (4 to 5 flavors that changed daily), culinary demonstrations with a real kitchen, a 3-room library with books galore (with over a dozen Mexico guide books alone), daily 3:00 pm tea, and a classical music quartet.

Wow Woody that sounds amazing! Sounds like you had a great time! Feel free to post some pictures. Not too many, I don't want to change my mind about going on a Disney cruise as opposed to any "other" cruise line :snooty: :rotfl2:

Woody, it sounds like you and the mrs. had a wonderful cruise. Can't wait to see pics.

Welcome home Mr & Mrs Woody. I like the sound of some of those highlights on the Amsterdam. BIL Jose would LOVE the ice cream options!

Do you want your friends listed? If so, how shall we include them on there?

I am updating and reposting the list every so often. When we get our next thread I hope to get that list on page one so I can keep it up. Right now the most current list is at the top of page 181. If there are changes, post here and if I don't correct it, remind me.

Congrats on the new grandbaby! That is the best Christmas gift you could receive. I couldn't stand it though if my granddaughters lived more than five minutes from me.

Have a great time and drive safely!
