Oh come on now Jackie... I only suck up to the best!!! :goodvibes

She has a ghost writer... A very dapper one indeed!!!

Gift wrapped cans of sardines would be appropriate for the Baltic.

I think I have seen chocolate sardines somewhere.:confused3 Not chocolate covered sardines I must add.

I lived in Amsterdam for about 7 months.

Remind me to tell you about the rip in the fabric of time. I've pinpointed it to Centraal Station.

Ok, I'm reminding you now........:rolleyes1

When I lived in Amsterdam, I had to take the train everyday to work. The temporary offices were just a couple of stops outside the city.

If one has been in Amsterdam, one might have twigged that some people (well more than some) look like they escaped from about 1969.

I am certain that there's a staircase, that comes up from the basement in Centraal Station where people slip up from the 60's. I've seen them.

Today is booking day. I'm expecting to hear from my travel agent some time today about the eastbound transatlantic.

Quite frankly I find it rather difficult (and more than just a little absurd) to be planning a vacation in 2010.

I quite agree and John really doesn't want to do so.

Clever of Disney though as they will have all the deposits in their bank!!

How about a brass rubbing at St Martin in the Fields??

Always an option Monica!:rotfl2:

Thank you, that is a very good list.:thumbsup2 And I added Madam Toussads to my list and I'd like to try to get out to Stonehenge.

oh yes, Tussauds is great too, as is the London Dungeon. If you get out ot STonehenge thats not too far from us....we could have a mini meet!:cool1:

I'm so very lucky to know the world travelers and to know you wonderful Brits to assist when the time is right to plan our UK trip! :thumbsup2

any help I can give is no problem Peg :thumbsup2

Ooh I noticed there were a large party of American visitors at my University this morning! :thumbsup2 I guess that's because the campus is in the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich and is a World Heritage Site on the banks of the Thames with three beautiful baroque buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren at the end of the 17th century... :cloud9: Plus it's very near the 17th-century Royal Observatory, home to the Greenwich Meridian line - this divides the hemispheres and marks longitude zero as well as being the spot from which Greenwich Mean Time is calculated...

Sounds wonderful Karen. Which Uni are you at?

Well, I believe spreading these kinds of expenses over the year, makes the cruise budget less painful! I have some supplies on hand for some possible FE gifts that I've been gathering over a long period of time...you know, when anything lime green goes on sale. :lmao:

.

Timely reminder Jackie, must start collecting gifts!:rolleyes1

Has anyone been successful in booking for 2010 yet?

Right now we're in limbo on the Baltic cruise. IC didn't call (no big surprise) and just blindly booked us on a cruise, the April TA. So of course when I called this morning to change it, all the suites were booked. So now we're waitlisted for the June 12 cruise. I'm so sick of waiting... That's what I get for making plans before everything is set in stone.

University of Greenwich - I've just started a BSc in Criminology and Criminal Psychology...

I've booked my exact choice of adjoining Cat 5s for the last 10 night Med cruise in September 2010 - DH and I are going with DD and her partner... Waiting to hear from our TA about the June Baltic...

of course! should have realised when you mentioned Greenwich...doh!:rolleyes1 sounds great, good luck! I'm just about to sort out an OU course so not quite as involved :rolleyes1

glad you got your cruise booked, good luck for the Baltic too :woohoo:

Just looked at the westbound TA and before it crashed on me, was getting a price of just over $5000 for the 2 of us. Better than the sky high Xmas price I guess......

Good luck with that! I'm finding this course somewhat exhausting and full on!!! I'm hoping I get used to it BUT if not I shall just change to studying part time... It's really fascinating tho' and as I said the campus is stunning...

I checked out the Christmas/New Year cruises and the prices looked steep. :headache: I know the Baltics aren't cheap but with no airfare and a short drive it really makes sense for us... ;)

Well, I've booked my 'back up plan' WBTA. Cat 7 for two, no transfers, no insurance $4705. Got #7620, one of the 'secret' verandahs (only partial obstruction).

Patiently (NOT) waiting to hear what Monica finds out from DU for the Baltic.

Oh lordie....I'm supposed to leave for work in 20 minutes and I'm still in my jammies. How can I possibly leave the boards while so much is going on???

False alarm, it was just a call to tell us we were on the waitlist, which we already knew. Back to limbo...
