Hello, I'm Karen from London, England and I'll be sailing with my wonderful DH Richard. This will be our 5th DCL cruise - our last one was the final Mexican Riviera and on this very date last year we were renewing our vows on the Western Caribbean...

Gotta say this seems a ubercool group of DISers and I look forward to getting to know y'all over the coming months! I'm particularly keen to become a member of the Champagne Girls - that sounds a perfect club for me as I love champers in all it's guises!!!

My GF and I actually booked this cruise in the summer. We are getting married on it. We are really looking forward to it. It was going to be our first cruise but we decided to do a 4 day on the Wonder in January to get our sea legs. I have been sitting here reading through the pgs and pgs of post to pick up some more info and tips to put on our wedding website, but figured I'd throw up a post rather than lurk. I hope this will be a great cruise for everyone.

I've just spent a relaxing afternoon reading through the thread - it's going to be a fab cruise, that much is clear... I also had to do that thing where you work out when you can book Palo/excursions etc and it turns out that'll be on my youngest DS's 16th birthday next year - so no chance of forgetting that!!!

I do know how you feel - when my DS went away to Uni I was initially bereft... However, that was 4 years ago and DH and I got very used to having the house to ourselves!!! So it was something of a shock when he returned home a year ago...

Glad you came out of lurkdome. Will you be doing the wedding on board or at Castaway Cay? Will you have family coming on the cruise also? There have been DISfolk wedding and vow renewals on a couple of my earlier cruises and they were beautiful.

We will likely have a party of somewhere between 15-20 people. We will have the ceremony on the ship but we were leaning towards inside rather than out on deck 7. My GF is a little worried about the elements (rain or sun too bright). We have been talking to several folks on the wedding threads to prepare ourselves.

The weather was a little mixed on our cruise last September but the day of the VR was absolutely beautiful - so sunny and bright I had to wear shades on Deck 7 where we had the ceremony!!! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you...

It's very cool indeed!!! Congratulations to you, too - 25 years is a big deal!!! The photos I posted are from our 25th last year and we'll be celebrating our 27th Wedding Anniversary on this cruise - looking forward to a some cake and champagne...

Thanks for the well wishes. Looks like September is a popular month to get married. Happy anniversary to all of you. My parents just celebrated their 56th anniversary this month as well. Looks like there will be a whole lot a celebrating going on.

That is definitely a consideration! It was extremely sunny on Deck 7 - I'm glad I thought to wear sunglasses when the concierge guy came to take me to the ceremony. My poor husband didn't and was squinting away! It was also very hot and my DH, who wearing a suit, was er... perspiring quite a bit too!!! Oh and the wind played havoc with my up-do - I had to return to our stateroom to repair the hair a couple of times...
