September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Does anyone know what the weather is like on the ship during September? I don't know if I should pack long pants / long sleeve shirts. Is it cool enough at night for those clothes?

The averages for the Virgin Islands in September is a high of about 90 and a low of about 77.

The averages for the Bahamas in September is a high of about 88 and a low of about 76.

There will be a breeze when out on the open ocean.

Given all this the rest would depend you your personal preferences and sensitivity to temperature.

And the interiors of the ship (dining rooms, theaters, etc.) can be a little on the chilly side at night, so you might want a wrap for dinner and a pullover or sweatshirt for later.

We were on the Aug 15th too (would have been spending my actual birthday on Castaway Cay) until we changed to this one. Better on the Mickey Boat than not, but I am really looking forward to Tortola (however, I haven't done a Western yet either, so that might be interesting).

Que sera, sera!

I love Doris - I just saw the BIOGRAPHY of her, very interesting, I've stayed at her lovely hotel in Carmel (pet friendly) so the girls were with us as well, that was the trip where Faith had to have her Chanel jacket (not really but it's quilted and black and looks like something they might have done) she pranced around the entire boutique with it on... :rolleyes1
Is this for Peg too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or just so you can use the pool?????????????????????
Too funny...:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:she's allowed to use the pool but getting some of that duck tape would be great... :thumbsup2

Just got back from Time Traveler's Wife - 11:30 showing and only 5 bucks - gotta love that. It was good - I just love Rachel McAdams... I loved her in Notebook, I loved her in Family Stone... she has the best crocodile sp??? tears ever....

Test results are finally in. Diagnosis is stage 3 lymphoma. Fortunately the cancer has not spread to the bones. At this point this was the best we could hope for. Harry starts chemo next Friday. When we asked about the cruise the doctor said "sure you can go, keep on living, we will work around it". Harry is really upset that he will lose his hair before the cruise. He seemed to be in denial up until this point so this hit him really hard today. I was expecting the worst so I was actually relieved. It's very bad but it could be worse.

Looking forward to seeing everyone! You all have been so kind.:grouphug:

:love:Rags,
I just found out about Harry the Hat :sick:/ I mean the mixer:stir:. Sorry Harry.. Rags please remind him about my little story, I told you guys about my hair loss after my chemo :scared1:. I will refresh your memory, when me and Barb :bride: were out together, everytime someone would ask me did you lose your hair due to the chemo, she would look down below my waistline and calmly state "not on his head":rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:. Now all of DIS knows where my radiation and chemo went :worship:(and it had nothing to do with my shoe laces) at least you'll be looking up at him when it is discussed :thumbsup2.
Remember this one Harry?
I hope this reminder has given you and Harry a little humor during a not so humorious time  john
PS: With your door sign I'm sending you my Panama Jack hat, You may borrow it for the cruise. Don't need no:headache:, sunburn on you exlox or is that lack of lox, any way it will keep your head covered and prevent it from getting burned..
john..gg and barb

Hey everyone!!! Room assignments are out and I need only 5 more people to send me your number and I can send out final list.

Also, I went from a 12 gty to a 10. Room 2647 under Parrot Cay. Looked at stateroom reviews and didn't see anything. Is this good?

got 'cha! :thumbsup2

Got our stateroom today, well, I remembered to look today, perhaps it was yesterday. But yippie skippy, navagators guarantee 7 to 7606, which appears to me to be a catagory 5! Even though my cruise page still says 7. I'm not going to quibble....

got you too :thumbsup2

My GTY finally turned into a room number.

I will be in 2608 and the other room that is participating will be in 2614.

duly noted also :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that things are going well! The cruise will be "Just what the Dr. ordered" for Tom. Just ensconce him at Cove Cafe and we'll all come to him.

I love our reclining couch that we have in the Family Rm. Like you I was hesitant but DH prevailed, I just love them; so comfy. Many a night DH & I have fallen asleep on it.

My continued prayers and Pixie Dust for Tom continued recovery and you take care of yourself as well. :flower3:

THANKS!! He is ahead of predictions on energy, walking endurance, need for naps and need for pain medication. We went to church today. Great to see folks' reactions who knew he had open heart surgery--4 by-passes--just 10 days ago. :)

Well, I guess I'll go with 5148 since you insist I choose.

Cruise:7-Night Eastern Caribbean with Tortola
Ship:Disney Magic
Sail Date:September 12, 2009
Stateroom:Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom Category 09, #5148

Sorry :guilty::guilty:

Ok week from (he --double hockey stick )- very raw from finding out a "friend" not only set me up but she did it to gain money in a lawsuit against the company - long story but I am feeling VERY untrustworthy and do not like that feeling since I am an Aquarian and humanity is important to me... or was...

 SO SORRY !! :sad2:

So no one liked my dream eh? Ok I'll just go along on my way...sulking now... (don't worry I'll get over it). I guess I'm not as amusing as I thought... no big discovery there ....:scared1:

I liked the dreams! ::yes:: I cannot remember my dreams. I might wake up TIRED and know I had been working hard all night but have no idea what was going on. You should write a book. :)

Hey gang...... Final Fe list is just about ready to go. Just trying to see if Tinkrules is still going. You should have the list in the next day or so. I put them in room order so this should help with delivery.

Hi guys, back from a two week road trip vacation. Loved Yellowstone and absolutely loved the Glacier-Waterton International Peace Park, in particular Waterton Townsite in Canada.

My new room number is 6532. Gave up a 9 and got a 6. Hopefully someone here will be able to benefit from our upgrade. Could you please change my room number on the first page? I have been in contact with the FE list keeper so she knows the new number. Not sure if the lanyard list has the room numbers. Thanks!

Hope everyone is well and just as excited as we are.

John, you are the best. Thank you for the kind words and humorous story in the other post. And thanks for the door sign. We are in cabin 2509. Still hoping for the upgrade fairy to strike. So good to hear from you. Hope you and Barb are doing well.

Jan, so glad that Tom is doing well.

Harry's first round of chemo on Friday was very draining for him. It lasted over eight hours. He came home and slept all evening and all night. He felt quite well on Saturday though. Even his mood was better. I think he is finally accepting this and has gotten through the first big hurdle. The next big hurdle will be the hair loss. He has such a great head of hair too, which will make it that much harder. I am sure that there will be many ups and downs but it was so good to see him in a much better state of mind this weekend. DD had us over for dinner. It was a nice, relaxing evening.

Continued prayers and pixie dust for Tom & Harry! :wizard::littleangel:pixiedust:

And a little never hurt...:flower3: or a few of these...:grouphug:

I am so much better today emotionally - thanks to my sister for playing with me, we saw Time T. Wife and I really loved it... did I say that already? Geez - we had a few not so healthy meals - but really tasty and back on track tomorrow... thanks you guys and gals for being so kind when I got icky. :rolleyes1:love:
