I can only imagine!

Do you know how they get there Maz? I am wondering how far away it is from where the Magic docks.
I have looked at maps, but you can never really tell can you?

You must take a taxi or a tour as the airport is at least 15 minutes from the dock.

We did a Bernard's tour that stopped at Sunset Beach in the morning and were disappointed not to see any large planes as they land in the afternoon. Check the KLM website before you go to see when the planes will be landing if you want to get a taxi there.

Hi everyone, just checking in. I've had a really busy week so not been online much, I need to go back & read what everyone has been up to.

I am think of heading over to Maho beach to watch the planes, maybe we could sort it out beforehand & share taxi's if a few of us are going.

That might be a good idea.

We were able to get there with public buses (ie minivans) for very cheaply. First had lunch and sightseeing on the French side, then went to the beach to watch airplanes. There used to be a beach bar there, but recent reports is that it is no longer. There are signs overhead to show "Caution! Low Flying Aircraft". Seeing them come in was awesome. The crazy people were the ones standing on the sand when a jetliner would be revving up its engines prior to take off, literally sandblasting those on the beach. Then some would be across the small two-lane road to hang onto the fence. We had several airline employees with us when hanging out there, and of course they were fascinated by it. The only "concern" is the drawbridge and getting back to the ship on time. Apparently they cater to local yachts, and it is not uncommon for the drawbridge to go up for a long period of time --- which you must cross to make it back to the ship. Beautiful drive though, especially if a ship is tendered in the bay.
Very definitely worth seeing - but not much shade.

It sounds brilliant...thanks for the warning about getting back to the ship too.

Someone on our last TA thread said most big planes come in during the afternoon and to check the major airlines like KLM for their schedules.

Well we have a nasty stormy day and night ahead. Lots of weather warnings across the country.I think we are going to stay indoors and get on with some jobs. We seem to be be way on vacation for so long and so often that things here get left, plus when I am here I am planning and on the DIS etc!!!

Our Panama Canal cruise in January is almost fully planned. It is going to be very quiet for us. Not many friends to recognise around the ship this time, no Palo, 1 excursion. I think I will find it hard doing the PC cruise for a second time and there not being all the wonderful people there who were there in 2008.(I might cry) After the 15(yes 15) nights onboard we have 4 at the VGC and then 3 down in San Diego before flying back to Orlando for almost 3 weeks.

This cruise is looking like it might be more like our last TA and the 2008 PC with the way the thread is going. So excited.

How was the cruise? Wouldn't have minded at all to have been on that one myself.




I'm wishing for it to be weekend soon or actually next week. Being too busy this week, anxiously awaiting some testresults, not really my week. Tonight should be a night for kids to go on our national version of "trick or treat". Aint happening, if you ask me. We've got our first real autumn storm that will last well into tomorrow. We've been hit with windspeeds of around 109 km/h already (117 and up and it's a hurricane), the usual big rains etc. And I have to go out in a minute. Yeiks. Not looking forward to that one, blegh. I keep telling myself only 300 more days until it's all forgotten.

We have horrid wind & rain here too, I was going to take my mum into town to do some more Christmas shopping but decided to wait until next week as it's so miserable out...........So instead i've just booked our return flight for September. I decided I couldn't hold out any longer for VA to release miles only flights from Orlando so i've booked the return from Miami & hired a car for the 3 nights which we will drop off at Miami airport. This cruise feels all the more real now!

I'm sure you will have a lovely time on the PC even if it won't be the same without your friends, hopefully you'll make lots of new ones. Where are you staying in San Diego? Have you been before. We went a few years ago & loved it.

My dates won't come out until tomorrow so no possibility to book yet. Parents are all for it to book tomorrow but I'm not sure yet. I could always alter the returndate if the desires added WDW-time doesn't work out but booking now also kinda feels like jinxing it. I'm a tiring person when it comes to these things, I tell ya.

I'm really excited at staying there too Michelle. We were waitlisted, and it came through very quickly. I really thought it wouldn't. At least it helps with the depression of getting off the ship!!

Well done Claire on getting the flights organised. Feels so much more real doesn't it? No going back now. I can't wait to get our return flights booked and then I can start thinking about this vacation and planning too!!!

We haven't been to San Diego before, and it took some time to sort accommodation out. Very expensive, but in the end we have gone for a little motel which gets great reviews and is only $60 per night!! Small rooms yes, but perfectly clean, and family owned for donkey's years, plus a free breakfast. Really friendly and helpful when I emailed them too. Saving us about $80 per night on our other reasonably priced accommodation I had chosen. The $240 will come in useful elsewhere.

We have a villa booked back in Orlando so looking forward to that too.

Thanks! We were rockin' it the whole cruise but it saved on the alcohol bill...u felt drunk most of the time with the way we were all walking Luckily none of my group serious felt the waves enuff to get sick but I heard some people were not so lucky

For me the ony time it became dangerous was when I was wearing heels for formal/semi/Palo nights
