HEY so glad you are here. WOW, 38 years, that really is something to celebrate . Yeah, we went for the 4 th weekend and yes it was hot, but we took breaks in the hottest part of the day and it was manageable. We live 8 hours away so a weekend trip is doable when my DH has either a Friday or Monday off. I have got to finish the TR about our very special, oh so magical, time at the Plaza.

I guess by now you have already had surgery. I hope all is well. You will be sore for a few days, but hey NO MORE PAIN, which is a good thing. I will be thinking about you.

When I left off we were heading back to the front of the park for our ADR at the Plaza. It was really hot, so we just took our time. I took a few pictures along the way.

So we arrived at the Plaza and checked in at the podium. We were handed a buzzer and we went to find some shade to wait in. We still had 20 or so minutes to wait.

Dallas and I went and sat at a closed off entrance at the end of the Plaza, and Dale stood across from us under a tree. We still had the bottle of water from earlier and I pulled it out of my backpack for us to share.

As we waited I snapped pictures since I didn't have anything else to do.

Now you would think since we had been rained on so much in May I would have hated seeing the rain clouds, but I was excited because I knew it would cool things off a little. At about 2 pm we walked up closer to the podium so we would be ready to go in. At exactly 2:05 our buzzer went off, and it started raining......... We were taken to our table and the Hostess laid a large notebook on the table. I didn't really think too much about it until she said our waitress would be over to our table and the Chef would come out and discuss the menu since we had someone with an allergy . Now every time we have eaten at a Disney restaurant I have mentioned we had someone on the ADR with a peanut allergy, but never have we had anyone come talk to us. So the Chef comes over to our table and asks who has the allergy and Dallas told him it was he. The chef asked Dallas what he was going to order and Dallas told him a grilled cheese and french fries. He explained to me that the grilled cheese was probably the best option as there was no peanut nor peanut by products in this option so there would be no chance of cross contamination. He told Dallas he would go and cook his food himself and make sure he got extra french fries........

Our waitress came and took Dale and my order and then she brought our drinks. The chef came back and brought Dallas food

Our food came out pretty soon after Dallas' and it was so good.

I had the Cheese steak sandwich

And Dale had the grilled chicken sandwich

I was surprised that Dale did not order a hamburger. He cut me a bite off his sandwich and it was very good. I know what I will order in September. The chef came back out during our meal and talked to us for a long time. He was so nice. He made the comment that everyone must think we were VIPs since he was basically staying at our table . After our meal he asked Dallas what he wanted for dessert, Dallas ordered a chocolate milkshake. Our waitress came to the table to get our dessert order and the chef told her that he was going to take care of Dallas'. Dale and I ordered the brownie sundae to share.

This is all I got of the brownie sundae.

So, I guess you can tell it was good. Dallas was wearing his birthday button for our May trip. He didn't want to take it off his lanyard . Our waitress came and brought out the check and she also brought this for Dallas

It went back to the room with us. In fact it is still in my fridge right now. Dallas never eat a bite of it. I told him last week it needs to be thrown away. We paid the check and decided it was time to go back to the room to rest for a while and cool off. It was a very special lunch. When we got home Dallas told Amanda and Tyler all about having his own chef at the Plaza. I asked the chef if he was going to be working on Sept 26, we have an ADR for 7 pm at the Plaza that day, he said he was going to be off that day because he was going to be in his friend's wedding.

We left the park and headed for the monorail. We needed to go walk Niko before going back to the room.

Leaving the park. I was kinda sad because I knew it would be September before we were back.

We never had to wait long for a monorail. The parks were crowded, but not overly so.

If you look over Dale's left shoulder you will see the pink line. I am still saddened by the monorail accident.

We walked Niko and went back to the room. We decided we wanted to see the 4 th Illuminations show. We all took a nap and we were up and ready to go to Epcot by 7 pm. It was really nice to take a nap each day and go back to the park once it was getting dark because it was cooler.

Of course they didn't want me taking pictures, but so what I took them anyway .

We headed to SSE and walked right on. I recorded our little video at the end of the ride.

After we got off SSE we went to Mouse Gears. I wanted a new purse but could not find one I really liked. We stayed in Mouse Gears for a little while just shopping around. I bought something, but for the life of me I can't remember what . We headed toward WS because it was now about 8:30 and I THOUGHT the show was suppose to start at 9. From the looks of the crowds I wasn't the only one. We got a spot and waited.

Again I have got to work on my night shot photography. Well, we waited and at 9 pm no show, then 9:15, then 9:30 and the "voice" over the speakers said Illuminations would start in 30 minutes . What? We had waited for an hour and by now Dale and Dallas were so hot and tired they just wanted to go. I gave in, because I was hot and tired too and tired of being stepped on by some of the rude people waiting. People were just coming up and walking all over other people and pushing in front of us. We headed to the front of the park to leave.

We got to DHS to pick up Niko right as they were starting the fireworks there.

As we were pulling out of the parking lot at DHS we could see that Illuminations had started........

We got back to the room and I started packing up. We all got our showers so we could get up in the morning and just leave. I took a few more pictures before packing up the camera.

We ordered Flippers pizza again and they delivered it within 30 minutes. We ate and we were all asleep by midnight. We were up at 6:30 am Sunday, July 5 th for the drive home. We were on the Interstate by 7 am. We had a very good time and the trip down and back wasn't bad at all. Now I am ready to go back. I love having the APs so we can go on long weekends and not have to worry about tickets.

Great finish to your mini trip report!!! sorry you missed the FW show, though. You are lucky to have the AP's and Sept will be soooo much fun...I so excited for ya'll...

I love the pics of Niko; it's like looking at our Brownie (except she is a female and very mean or b??????--if you know what I mean--she either loves u or hates u)

Dallas is the man; being a VIP at the Plaza--doesn't get much better than that....

Niko is mean too. Amanda has been dating Matt for over a year now and he HATES Matt.

We were really surprised with all the attention we got. He was such a nice man. He told us about his vacation to Las Vegas and told us he had been working for Disney for 30 years.

That is so sweet of you to offer. Yeah it would be a long drive for a mid day break though.

I think what made it so relaxing is the fact it was just spontaneous, not all the time to build it up to be something it can't possibly meet up to. The first 2 or 3 times I went I was dumb to all of the planning and they were so nice.

Girl, up at 1 am my butt was snoring at that time. I have to get up at 5 am for work so my sleeping pill is really working by then. I will be taking another one here in about 30 minutes.

I just now got a chance to read your last update to the short but sweet trip to Disney. As you know, I was off to see Lacey this weekend and it was a great but fast trip.

Your poor boys look so hot in the pictures. But, I'd rather be hot in Disney than hot at home and I know that you guys were of the same frame of mind. Your husband so reminds me of mine. He hates for me to take his picture. He's constantly just rolling his eyes at me while I'm snapping away with the camera. It looks like you are getting the hang of taking the night time photos. I love the Spaceship Earth ones.

How cool was it for the chef to spend so much time with ya'll! Darn tootin' Mr. Dallas should feel special. Now you're making me wonder if I should have made an ADR as The Plaza.

Dale and Dallas were so tired and hot. I guess you can look in Dallas' eyes when we were waiting for Illuminations and see how tired he was. I don't think I will ever get them into the picture thing. Dale thinks I have enough already .

We loved the Plaza. I hate that when we go back in September this chef will be off. I know they will still have a great chef though. The food there is so good. I can't wait to eat there again. I tried to see if there was something we might change so we could eat there twice, but I don't want to change anything.

I have been thinking that maybe I should order Dale and I a cake for our anniversary, but I don't think we would eat it. Since it is only going to be Dale, Dallas and I, I know we couldn't eat a big cake like we had in May. I have been looking at the cakes Publix makes and they have some mini cakes that are so cute I may order one from them and go pick it up. I am not big on sweets, and since we will be on the dining plan, I am just thinking it will be a waste. Sounds like I am trying to talk myself into it, or out of it, doesn't it?......... I'm thinking I should do something since it will be our 22nd anniversary.

You should get a little something for the anniversary, even if it is something small. I LOVE publix's cakes, they are awesome. I agree I wouldn't do a disney cake for just the 3 of ya'll, WAY too expensive, but something small from publix would be perfect!!
