I'm planning to take my family for a 4 day trip to Disney this year - yea! :) The last time we went was Sept. 2005 and we took advantage of the Free Dining. It was a terrific trip and I was planning to repeat it this year (assuming Free Dining is back). But I'm hearing from friends that the first week of December is also very good - better weather and lighter crowds.

Any advice? Thanks so much!

My vote would be early December. Love the weather. Too hot and humid in September and no love bugs in December. Crowds are not too bad. Decorations are great. No free dining but you'll probably get a better rate on the room.

The weather was a lot warmer in Sept and it was nice to be able to swim and pack a lot less clothes! But I loved the decorations in December...

Of course if they offer free dining again - that was such a huge savings.

Sorry, not too helpful, I guess, but you really have to decide what is most important to you.

Have a wonderful trip!

I would (and did) pick December! Back in 2006 we did the early December thing and it was great! The decorations are worth the price of the free dining you would get in September. If the weather works with you, you can go swimming in December - we did!

Plus those love bugs are hell!!!

Early December is my absolute favorite time to go so I of course have to tell you December!

I love the cooler weather (although sometimes it's hot) and the decorations, christmas music, and just overall atmosphere can't be beat IMO. :cloud9:
