Looking at the closure schedule for this september, the Haunted Mansion is closed of course for the overlay. But also listed the same week it says that Pirates of the Carribean is closed:eek: It actually lists it as closed for refurb "Fall 2011". I have a friend taking her kids and grandkids for their first trip Sept 10-14. I had warned her that HM would be down, but was blown away that they are closing POTC at the same time? Will they do that, or does it say "fall" because hopefully they wont close it until HM is opened towards the end of Sept?:sad2:

There has been a lot of discussion around here on this so far, but yes, Pirates is getting a big refurb. You should warn your friend that she may not get to ride.

Pirates is going down this fall from Sept. 7 - Nov. 23rd.

Thanks you guys. I just broke the news to her. She is devastated that her kids won't see pirates. But like I told her, all the more reason to take them back.

Yep, that's a good attitude to have. A lot of people would see that situation and say something like "no fair it's my first trip to DLR I wanna see it all" etc etc
But I like you're attitude. Hopefully your friend feels the same about the situation. :)

Sorry, but I gotta say it...

If someone is going to be "devastated" by ride closures then the second week of September is one of the worst weeks of the year to choose to visit DLR.

I am really sorry you are disappointed. Forums like this can help folks avoid disappointment - if folks come here before they make choices that cannot be changed and not after.

:cool2:

I try to tell everyone if you go off season to have less crowds, you risk closures. And after the initial shock :scared1: she has relaxed. Like I told her, once your there and have so much to do, you really don't miss the stuff thats closed. She just feels bad her kids won't see pirates. But then again, they don't really know they are missing anything! Its all good. Being at Disney, closures or not, is always a good thing!:yay:
