We were originally planning on staying at All Star Movies early November next year but, after reading on here that Virgin are combining September flights due to it being a quiet time of year, i thought i'd check out late September instead. The prices are marginally higher but crowd levels appear to be even lower than November, the weather would be hotter (we are going with friends - first timers - who intend to spend most of their time in the waterparks) and our daughter would still be 9 years old (b/day 10/10) so we wouldn't have to pay adult prices for her park tickets and *Disney Dining Plan (*which is a considerable saving!) We have only ever been in early November/early December before, which we enjoyed, so i'd be interested to hear what you all think of this possible change of plans! All opinions will be gratefully received! ;)

I love September :) The weather is warmer than November and the crowds....well we have never come across any crowds :) In fact we walked straight on to most rides :)

And i thought November was the best time of year to go!?! No crowds means lots more Disney-Fix time for me! That sounds great! Now all i've got to do is convince the rest of the group... ;)

Been twice before in september and this has been the case :) so thats why we have booked to go back this september :)

September for me too.

Personally, I would not change my holiday plans on the basis of Virgin cancelling flights this year :)

They could do it again at any time of year.

I would go for whatever time of year appeals best to you.

Hi Miffy - think i probably phrased my question wrong. I'm not changing my plans based on what Virgin are doing next month, i just hadn't realised Sept was a quiet time to go. We have previously been november/december time and just assumed we would do the same this year, but after reading those comments it got me thinking. I've spent the afternoon looking into it and for almost the same price we will get better weather and fewer crowds. And it does appear September would be a good time for us, especially as my daughter will still be classed as a 'child' by one month! This will mean a saving of nearly £200 alone on the Disney Dining Plan, not to mention the tickets! I've never quite got over the fact that a 10 year old is classed as an 'adult' when it comes to purchasing tickets.

Whoops!

Sorry vabeth, totally misunderstood there!!

It may be quiet for the British to go to WDW but may not be for the US. (The reason for Virgin cancelling is lack of Brits going at this time). After all you are lucky to get a flight during the October half term a year in advance but still very quiet in the parks during this time.

HOWEVER I have just looked up Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide and both September and November appear to be as quite as each other. It is still officially hurricane season in September and there will be much more wet days than in November but if you like it warmer and don't mind wet then this is the time to go.

Good luck in your decision.

We went in September last year, and are going again same time this year. It's a good time of year to visit :sunny:

Us too! We had our very first WDW trip last sept and had expected queues for everything, but almost all attractions were 'walk-ons'. Yes we were there for hurricane frances, but it was fine. Orlando handled it superbly, and it didn't really matter that we lost 2 days park time as we managed to do everything we wanted to.

Yes, we are going again this sept - its so addictive!!

September for me as well, but if it is Nov, then the earlier in the month the better.
