Hi all~ I'll be taking my first trip to Universal with my 10-year-old daughter in late Sept and I'm trying to figure out if 2 full weekdays would be enough to cover both parks. Here's my intended itinerary...

Mon, 9/27...arrive at MCO at 1:25 PM, hotel check-in
Tues, 9/28...WWoHP from open till closing with a hotel/lunch break in the early afternoon
Wed, 9/29...Universal Studios from open till closing with a hotel/lunch break in the early afternoon
Thur, 9/30...depart MCO at 7:25 AM

I can't decide whether I should throw one more day in there, especially since I am not going to do the park-to-park and I'm thinking I probably don't really need 2 days in one park and one day in another (DD will not go on the scarier coasters but will do all other rides). Another monkey wrench I'm experiencing...cannot find any posted park hours for September, so don't know how many hours we'll get to spend in each park. My guess is that the parks will be open from 9 AM - 6 PM.

My gut tells me that my daughter and I can hit both parks sufficiently in 2 days without running around like crazed lunatics, but I'd like to hear from the experts first!

Thanks to all :)

If you can do a third day, I think you would enjoy yourself more mainly because you're not having to rush around. You can use the third day as a repeat of favorites and really enjoy yourselves.

You were right about the park hours...It's usually 9-6 or 9-7 except at the Studios for HHN when the park closes at 5pm. But September will only have two dates where that would be the case.

Another concern (aside from the obvious extra $ for hotel and park passes) is that my daughter would then be out of school for 4 days rather than 3, so if we can comfortably do 1 day in each park without feeling like we missed out, I'd prefer the shorter stay.

Any other opinions out there? If most people think I'll need 3 days then I'll bite the bullet...please chime in 2 days or 3 !

I would say 3 because you can do like Metro West said and do favourites over and relax...if you missed something you can do it the 3rd day.
Just my opinion though!!!:confused3

In the past, we have allotted one day each per park on our visits, but this was prior to WWoHP. This upcoming trip, we have allotted 3 days (and hopefully HHN if it begings Sept 24 this year).

This being said, it is your vacation and if you feel better about your daughter missing less school, that's your choice. IMO, two days are better than none anytime:cool1:

Go and enjoy. US/IoA are amazing parks with lots of fun stuff to do.

don't know if you are staying on site or not.

i assume you are since you stated going back to the hotel for lunch.

i would vote for a 3 day trip for UO.

it would be a lot more relaxing and you won't feel rushed.

you could hang out in the lucy tribute for an hour easily watching all the screens.

you could do the water rides for one afternoon in the parks.

do the parks, swim at the hotel pool or pool hop to the other 2 onsite hotel pools, check out city walk, visit the other hotels in the evening by the bus so you can see how it is lit up at night, take in the shows in the parks, hang out at Mystic Fountain, etc.

i am spending 8 days at the darkside this year on my fall trip and hoping i have enough time to do all that i want to.........

Any particular reason you are not including weekend days? Adding a 3rd day by starting on the weekend would meet the requirement of not missing more school.
