Sept Dining Plan

are people noticing a high level of reservations made for Sept already because of the free dining plan. We go every Sept and are always able to book where we want to eat that morning......do you think that is not possible this time around? Last year we were there during the FDP and got all of them just fine on the same day as we wanted to go.....just wondering if anyone had any ideas on this? Thanks all!!!!

I called last week and got all but one. That was because it was a later breakfast time than we wanted. We called back with another restaurant and got in with all the times we wanted.

I am not sure if there is more frenzy around the dining plan then last year....but last year we had NO problem making any reservations last min.

I have made ADR's for all of Dh and my meals while we are at Disney in September, and we were able to get all the requested times and days, our friends however are a different story. They have waited for more than a month after us to book their ADR's and are not able to get any of the same times as us, nor are they able to get restaurants that they are interested in eating at. For instance Le Cellier, I made this ADR over a month ago, and we are not going til September 19, and got the time and day that we wanted, our friends have tried to get any day out of the 5 days we will be there, and not one reservation available for lunch or for dinner.
Anyhow, they did not want to make reservation when I suggested, so now they are scrambling to find someplace to eat, and they know that they should try to get ADR's but they are gettting frustrated! Hopefully something will pop up!!

Anyhow, IMHO I think you should think about making some ADR's or you may not get to eat where you want!!

It may depend on when in Sept you are going. WE are going the week after Labor Day and I have gotten everything I wanted (even Princess Storybook Breakfast just yesterday) during the time frame I wanted. Also yesterday I wanted LeCellier (will be our first time) and pretty much had a choice of any hour between 5 and 9 for the day I wanted.

I think the last week of September and the first week of October are the pretty booked because of Free Dining, MNNSHP, F&W Festival. I made our ADR's as soon as the promo was released and got everything I wanted, I called back this week to changes some things around and there was very little availabilty. I think earlier in the month will be less crowded.

We go just after labour day for 2 weeks, this year not until the 8th, so far not had any problems booking, and did not last year, even on the nights we did not book in advance.

I have not really had much of a choice on the times available for my meals. We are a party of 5, so that makes a difference....its always harder for a party larger than 4...but I have never experienced this little flexibility as far as dining times before.

I just realized I had Le Cellier booked for a night that Epcot is likely to be very crowded and rebooked it (we're the second week after Labor Day). I wasn't able to get the night I wanted, but could get another night that worked better than the first. The only time available for my party either night was 8:50...late. Oh, I could have gotten 2 tables....but as we are a party of 2 adults and 3 kids I don't know if that would work....LOL...maybe I should try to get that one and just put the big kids at a separate table!

I still want the other night...so I may try to call back every so often between then and now to see if someone cancels...right up until the day of the reservation (the day I want is 2 days later). I'm not sure of any other way I could do this. I dislike having to call so often, but my plans are perfect except for this!

Good luck! If you're not picky we've always had pretty good luck with walk up seating....but mostly at Nine Dragons.

I am going the last week in September. I tried to change some times of our ADRs two days ago and couldn't. The restaurants I have picked are already booked for the entire evening!

We are going the last week of September and I just called earlier and was able to get the three places I wanted but not really the times I wanted for two of the places. (1900 Park Fare - wanted an earlier dinner time, earliest was 7 pm so we took that one, Crystal Palace - did get around the time we wanted 12:40 pm, Chef Mickey's - wanted an earlier dinner time, earliest was 7:40 pm so we took that one) How is dinner around 7ish?

We went with free dining last year and heard a lot of the same comments about not getting times. We made res. for every day and got pretty much everything we wanted. While we were there I got ill from Mission Space and other things happened where we needed to make some changes and had no trouble at all. I think the biggest thing is being flexible and at the very least still give it a try when you arrive.

We are going the last days of Sept/early Oct. So far, I have had great success but since I waited too long, the CRT breakfast is full the entire time. I got 1900 Park Faire just in case we never got CRT. So the more popular resturants (including Chef Mickey's) seemed to be booked except for REAL late times after 7ish but others have great flexibility....not sure what that means crowd wise. Just know I am going!

same here... we went last sept w/ free dining and made all reservations last min or walked-up and got in.

that being said, we're going back this aug (w/ free dinning again) and i've made all my ADR's ahead of time.
