Sept 7th 10 night anyone else cruising?

Actually...the Sept 17 cruise...is the 11 night cruise. We jsut booked too! We can't wait!

Travis

I made a thread as well but looks like people are noticing yours. My DH and two DD and myself are going on the 10day. We wanted to do the 11day but could not take the kids out of school for 2wks. So we are just so happy to be on the 10day.

Kristin

Sorry did not mean to double tread! I was hoping that I was not the only one on the cruise. I see that a ton of people are writing on the 11 thread. sorry again happy to have you on the cruise...

Ohhh I am sorry I did not mean to make you feel bad. I am just glad we are not alone on the cruise lol.

Kristin

We are booked too!!! :cool1: It will be me and my DH. I am so glad I found this thread! I was getting so depressed reading the 11 night thread, I thought maybe I was the only one going on the 10 night...lol

Wow

What is it with the 10 night ?

are the prices about the same ??

is there another thread ?

have a great Cruise..

I think the price is a little lower. Though it seems to me that there are a lot more people on the 11 night then the ten.

We're looking at the 10-night simply because the dates work better for us. I'm still waiting for my wife to give me the go ahead to book (it always comes down to the wife ;)

I get the feeling that no one wants to go on the ten night cruise. I am wondering if I should have tried for the 11 night. Is there something about the 10 night I am not aware of? :confused3

I'm getting the same feeling! I guess we will just have to lurk on the 11 night thread and hope more people join in soon.

I thought it would be exciting to be the FIRST to do Southern Caribbean on the Wonder, we'll be on the inaugural visit to Barbados (I think) and we are only missing one port. And I just can't swing the 11 night vacation time.

I'll have to do some research on St. Kitt and see what we are missing.

I have been getting the same feeling ..... whats up with the 10 night. The price is only a bit lower. The main reason we are not doing the 11 night is because it takes the kids out of school for 2wks. The 10night is less time out of school.

Is it possible that disney woudl cancell the 10night if they don't sell enough?

Kristin

I highly doubt they would cancel it. I've heard they have already compensated those that were booked on the 3 and 4 night cruise that the 10 and 11 night are replacing. If the ship is still not booked a few months before the cruise they will probably offer FL resident discounts - or at least I hope!

Good. maybe if they don't sell as well as expected they'll allow DVC points to be used.

I wish there was a way to see how many people have booked. There are a ton of posts on the 11 night. I think this is a great cruise. Although I was in such a frenzy to book this I never really looked into the price diff. between the two. I am very happy with our cruise! maybe we will get upgrades!

I'm hoping to use DVC points too. I'm pretty sure the eventually allowed DVC points for the 14-night Panam Canal cruise, so I'm hopeful!

The price difference between the 10 and 11 night was only $150-$300 I think depending on category. If it was just a money issue, I'd change in a heartbeat. But it's the way the days fall that makes this one more appealing for us. My husband works 4 - 10 hour (actually 11 hour) days, Mon-Thurs and only gets one week vacation, so we take a lot of long weekends to Disney! With the 11 night I would use 3 more vacation days which limits my long weekend vacations and hubby would miss 4 UNPAID work days. With this cruise I'll save 3 vacation days and DH will only miss 1 unpaid day which means money and time for three more long weekend getaways!

I am not sure what the deal is with the 11 day cruise. I was looking into both and this is the one I wanted to book. However, I am unable to book at this time.

If I can convince DH to book another cruise I will be on this one. At this time we are taking our 3rd in Sept and he said that is it for now. I hope to talk him into booking while on our cruise 9/17. A few bottles of wine should help!

I am sure you will all have a great time. I do know that alot of the cruisers from the 10/06 cruise (dismeet, I think Cruisetoberfest?) switched to the 11 day. That may be why it grew so fast. I think about 20 ressies changed?!

Karen

We were displaced from the 9/17/06 4 night. What a surprise getting a call from DCL stating that the iteneraries have changed and that we'd need to change our dates. At first couldn't decide between the 11 and 10 night but settled on the 10 as DS's birthday is 9/9 and thought that would be extra special. :D We are still waiting to find out some final plans but think that those dates will work out well for us. Actually DH has put in a transfer to FL and if we do move it will be no problem... if we don't move then we have to decide if we want to take that many days out for the cruise and only have one day per park which is hard with DS as we typically don't spend the entire day in the park. Funny thing is that I've always said that we'd save the longer cruises until we moved down there... so maybe it's a "sign."

Can't wait... I could really use a cruise about now.

Hi skycan I hope you are able to come! I was all over my husband about booking this cruise the night before he was leaving for a work trip. I was crazy! Have a wonderful time on your upcoming cruise.

WELUVDCL, if you were to guess what would you think the points might be for this cruise. I am happy that I will be able to use my points for a sun- thurs stay at WDW after the cruise.

Welcome landmark and skycon! I hope you all are able to join us!

Landmark, What part of FL might you move to?
gabbysmom04, We just joined DVC on the May repo cruise so I'm not sure about the points. We were booked on the May 27 double CC cruise which was a few hundred more than this 10 night. DVC shows that cruise as 206 points pp for a cat 9, so I would assume it would be close to 200 pp for a cat 9 on the 10 night. If they open it up for DVC, we'll probably use half points and half cash.
