thanks SouthernMouse

just booked the Ding fare. can do the happy banana again.

I'll join you and ErnC with the attached 1 yo. actually I'll more likely be doing the running after the laughing toddler :earboy2:

I'm just so happy we have our flights are booked :Pinkbounc

thanks everyone

Save a "child attached at the hip" lounge chair for me and my son beside the pool!

bpicard9- The Flat Stanley Project sounds like a great idea! How cute! We are definitely interested. Just let me know what I need to do to get it started. Congratulations on your awesome airfare prices! $85 dollars each way is great! I went ahead and booked the K.C. to Orlando DING today. Now watch, next week they will be on sale for $55 each way or something ;)
Oh well, I'm just happy to have that booked! Now, I need to think of something else to obsess about...

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Howdy you crazy cruise obsessed people!

Thanks for the heads up about ding rates. Yes, I went ahead and booked also. But I know rates will get cheaper. I've seen them as low as 140 round trip a few weeks ago. But I decided I wanted to quit stressing about it, and now I can have the exact times I needed. Now I can do the banana dance also. Now just when do I get to do the doc dance? :rotfl:

Julie- will we be on same flight? Leaving MCI 7:25 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. Returning on Sat., Oct. 1 at 12:30? It would be fun with fellow DIS chatter.

I am in on the snail mail idea. Sounds fun. I'll e-mail my address. Thanks for organizing it. Sounds great! :cheer2:

Daughter has baseball game tonight. We are out of here. See ya. Deanna

Deanna, just PM'd you, from DD.

The snail mail idea sounds like a great idea. I'll email you my address too! Thanks for volunteering to organize it.

Dennis, how'd the interview go?????

Deanna- We are on the same flight out of K.C. to Orlando, but not on the way home. We took the one leaving at 6:50 p.m. instead. Last time we went to Downtown Disney and walked around, shopped and had the best ice cream at Ghirardelli! Mmmmmm! Can't wait to go back there! Anyway, I'm glad we are at least on one flight together!

Hey, Julie, I guess we will win the award for the first two to meet from this chat room since we are on the same flight. Do we win some kind of an award for that, Dennis? :confused3 I will be easily spotted in the terminal. I will be the one with the BIG BIG smile on my face holding the Disney Cruise brochure. :rotfl2: Glad we will get to meet.

Erin- Carissa received the e-mail. She will be typing back soon. Your daughter sounds so cute. princess:

Well, Dennis, we are still awaiting the big news. Are you going to be in the Roy Suite, or what? :smooth:

Have a great night everyone. We midwesterners will be sleeping much better tonight now that our flights are booked. Thanks for the help from everyone.

Deanna :earsgirl:

Hi alll

Dennis, yes I have been to Einstein's...looovvveeee their food...

Please let us know how it goes

Wow..I can't believe the cheap airfares you guys are getting. You would all fall off your chairs if I told you how much our airfare was.

:cool1: Well you guys have been busy. Will Southwest stay in business? :cool1:

Interview went great. Thought I was interviewing for a Project Manager position when I went in ... Turned out to be the Deputy Program Manager, which was kinda cool. :rolleyes1 Interview was a cake walk for me but unfortunately, their salary offer is MUCH too low. Chrystina  laughed at it when I told her. NOT worth the BS level. To quote her "For that much $$$, you may as well go get a job as the beer girl at the golf course". :rotfl:

Guess there will be no Roy Suite this trip...

Good news is that I never made it out the door before they had me in another interview for a position that opens in about two months (and pays enough to make it worth working). We will see what happens. So now that I have been in El Paso for four days and have had two interviews and lined another two up, I think it is time to take the day off and play golf. I work much too hard!!!

Have to practice this retirement thing... Need to go since we are sharing a vehcile this week and her morning commute is upon me --- Will be back later.

All that Pixie dust & good wishes worked - Thanks!!!

Dennis

Hello, everyone!

Dennis- I'm so happy your interview went well! That's great news! :flower:

GilesFamily- Now I feel badly for complaining about our fares, I didn't even think how expensive your flight from Canada must be. The cruise will be worth it, though! How long is your flight?

Deanna- Can't wait to meet you at the airport! We are actually going to spend the night at a hotel near the airport since we live so far away from it. We are not early morning people!!

Hope everyone is having a great day :sunny:

Hello Everyone,
Congrats Dennis :cool1: hope everything works out the way you want.

Soo much has happened since I lasted checked the boards. Had some extra time today DD 11(next week) had minor surgery to remove ear tubes so I we get to hang out at home today :goodvibes
She's watching "lemony Snicket" and I'm working on the computer.

bpicard9 great Idea about flat mickey, have heard of flat stanley but never participated. I will send you our address.
Don't know if DD's would be able to keep up with emails. But feel free so send them.

This is our busiest month of the year, DD's birthday next week, 5th grade graduation in a few weeks, soccer, vollyball, science projects x2, etc...etc.....plus I work part time 5 hours a day so summer break is looking REALLY good at this point :cheer2:
Really looking forward to Dh and I's weekend away.

Giles family we're with you wishing we could get cheap south west flights. I checked (just for fun) yesterday, how much our tickets would cost if we had to purchase them, for our family of 4 its about $2300......WOW!! thats almost how much our entire cruise costs.....Thank goodness for FF miles

ok I'm off to schedule shows to see while we are in vegas

I've just finished the template. A few people have PMd me with addresses. Since some of you have more than one child interested, I've made this available via PDF from this link. As long as you have Acrobat Reader 5.0 or greater you should be able to view the file. I can snail mail if necessary, but I thought this would give you the chance to see it more quickly as well as print as many as you need.

bpicard9,
You are so organized! (I'm jealous!) My girls have already started, they are so excited. Thanks for doing this!

bpicard9- WOW!! Thank you so much for doing this! This looks great! Tomorrow I will show my daughter and we will probably take Captain Mickey to her "end of preschool" picnic. We are excited to get this going and communicate with some other fellow kid-cruisers! Thanks again!

bpicard9- Wow are you organized, or what? Thanks for getting the mickey thing started. I sent a PM to you of my friend's address. They are joining us but she isn't too internet crazy like us. What a fun idea you have! :sunny:

erinc- Your daughter is such a sweetheart! My DD gets so crazily excited when she gets the mail. She will be typing again tomorrow I am sure. :)

My DS-10 is having a fit that no one will send him mail since his sister is getting some. :rotfl:

Did the midwesterners sleep better last night with the flights booked?

Have a magical day! Deanna

Whoohoo. I finally got my Passporter in the mail today. Got some bedtime reading tonight!

Hubby has been out of town for three weeks, leaving me with a broken lawn mower. I have been staring out the window every day watching the grass grow!..and grow..and grow. And of course each of the neighbours on either side have these perfectly manicured lawns (just call us the Griswald's of the neighbourhood!). I wonder if I can cut the lawn with a pair of kitchen shears.

B&J's mom: We leave Edmonton at 10 am and get in Orlando at 7:30 p.m. And we have a connecting flight at St. Paul. And I think it's about 1 1/2 hours in the St. Paul airport, with a two hour time-change difference, so it will take us...errr...I haven't a clue! I was never good at math. I'm guessing maybe 5 to 6 hours in the air. (??) I feel the jetlag already.

Thanks for the template, bpicard. I’m going to show it to DD tomorrow. She did’nt have very good day today. At swimming lessons today she hit her face on the side of the pool, split her lip, as well as cut up her gums real good. She could’nt eat dinner tonight cause her mouth was sore, so I gave her some warm milk, a couple children’s Tylenol and now she is finally sleeping. The poor thing. I have a bad case of working-mother guilt right now. I guess I should’nt be so hard on myself. Even if I was’nt working, I’m sure the chances of me being able to jump in the pool in time before her face met the side of the pool wall would have been very slim anyways.

We have a long weekend coming up here, so I’m sure DD will be excited to start working on her Captain Mickey project.

Umm..maybe we will start with a picture of her frollicking in the calf-high grass in our front lawn. :rotfl2:

I just realized that the link has my personal contact info on the first page. I'd rather not have this open, I just want to have it available for the kids to send back their info and to put it into the book if the kids want to snail mail each other. I'll send the corrected link if you PM me or I'll snail mail the info if necessary. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Glad to hear that kids are interested.

Giles Family - sorry to hear 'bout your DD. Hope she feels better today.
cujobugs or anyone else who knows of other cruisemates who might be interested in the project, please pass their info along so that I can snail mail or PM them the info.
