Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

wow, what a great time everyone had aboard the Wonder. Now I totaly know why alot of you cruise alot. We all enjoyed everything so much!! With so much to do, seemed like you turned around and it was dinner.....again....but, hey we will eat right......:rotfl2:

Wishing all a safe journey home........we paid extra to get a earlier flight or would be on the plane right now. :confused3 Nice to get home and even have some sunshine to welcome us into Seattle.

Now it is time to do laundry :laundy: and get ready for the week......take care all! Nice to have met some of you!

Back home in AZ now-- MAN was this morning ROUGH! It was the HARDEST vacation to leave EVER!!:worried::sad1: (we were first time cruisers)

Sitting here thinking about the people who are being treated like kings and queens by OUR Kingsley and Ava at dinner tonight and who get to sleep in OUR bed on the Wonder..*POUT*

Back to reality though ;-)

So who all met us? I popped in to the meet and greet late and only stayed about 5 minutes and said hi to a handful of people before my family was begging to go explore the ship more

I know we got to do the scavenger hunt with someone from here...I just don't recall names or board screen names either. :cheer2:

Picture added to see if you all recognize any of us from the ship---husband Jason, me Jessie, oldest Tyler, youngest Connor, mother in law Sue and father in law Geoff) we were at a lot of trivia's and other games and activities, goofy's pool for funnel vision time, Wavebands for Bingo, comedy and dancing and my in laws were the "longest married couple" in the Match your mate last night

I know I saw a lot fo your FE hangers on your doors too--I feel bad I was not as social as I had hoped to be-- we were always so busy..man was that the best vacation I have ever been on. TOTALLY hooked on Disney Cruising now ;-)

Quick note to thank everyone on FE#2 for the AMAZING gifts. You're all so creative... we loved each and every one. Connor was beside himself with excitement every time we came to the door and saw something in the pockets.

WONDERFUL meeting you all at the Promenade lounge and then seeing you around the ship -- it really did feel like we were sailing with friends.

It was our first DCL cruise and now we're hooked. Thanks again to all of you for making it even more special. What a great board/group we had!

i'm a visitor to your thread (wishing was on board with you!!) and need a favor, i'm hoping someone will check this before turning off their phones...

i am looking for a picture of the little girl pirate skirt that they sell on board (with the little gold coins hanging from the hem). the one they sell won't fit my little girl or i would have bought it, we did get the t-shirt that goes with it. i'd like to recreate it tho and realized when i went to do it that i can't remember it as well as i thought i would (silly me not to take my own pic) anyway, if anyone reads this, will you snap a pic and email (or pm) it to me when you get back? lara_bookite at yahoo dot com

(sailing on the wonder to alaska in june 2013)

I looked in the shop several times, but I didn't see anything matching your description. Sorry!

Thank you all for making a newbie feel like a total insider! This was an amazing, unforgettable vacation, and you all were a part of that. Thank you for the amazing gifts and the friendly smiles. I'm so sorry I couldn't stay longer at the meet up, but grom dad called to let me know our little grom was crying. We have booked a dummy cruise and hope to sail again in 2014. I hope we will meet again, maybe next time in the Caribbean ;)
I will try to post a link to photos this week so you know who we were :)
J2tyco, I definitely saw your family and thought you looked familiar, who could miss your husband's red hair! :)
The other family I recognized was kangamommy, as her husband was the person who got everyone's attention so we could introduce ourselves, and of course erbie, whose daughter hit it off with my niece, and Gail who organized our fe and was on our floor. I did miss getting to meet Marian, but hope you had a great trip!

I also checked on 3 different occasions and never saw a skirt that was like this in the gift shops...the only girly pirate pirate: thing they had was a complete pirate dress that was pink...nothing with gold coins on it...sorry!!

LOL! It took me a minute to figure out what red "hair" you were talking about since my hubby is completely skin bald..then I thought--she must mean his goatee LOL!!!---since I am a good foot shorter then him I guess the view I get is not as gloriously red as it is in pictures LOL:rotfl:

It was so cool to meet everyone and pass friendly faces around the ship!! All our FE gifts were wonderful, so much stuff I'm glad I brought an extra suitcase.

I know I saw JetSkiGirl a few times (Hi! :wave2: ) and definitely saw J2tyco and in-laws for Match Your Mate. I know there were others in elevators, jacuzzi, taquilla tasting, etc. Everyone seemed to know my husband (Brad) from Facebook, the pictures definitely help with that!

We had a great time and are trying to figure out which one to do in 2013.

I'm glad we were here in San Diego last week, today is supposed to be 105. While I'm not happy to be at work, I am glad to be in a well air-conditioned building. (I'm trying to look on the bright side because getting up this morning and going to work was just cruel.) We just told ourselves we have to start making money for the next one. ;)

We to were busy busy busy....The FE (#2) were fantastic . You would have thought my hubby was a kid checking his Christmass stocking. I was the most aprehensive in our group about cruising now I am hooked , I loved it! Thanks for FE gift. Cant wait to do this again!

j2tyco, yes my dd and I were at The Wheel with you guys! Your son was too cute as our team captain!

What a fantastic week! Thank you everyone on the FE#2 list. We loved all the surprises. I can't believe the ship sailed yesterday with another family in our room. <sigh>

Now to plan the next one! Anyone going in April? Sadly there are no West Coast departures so it looks like we'll have a bit more planning to do!

Until next time!!

Linda :wave2:

I just wanted to thank everyone in FE 1 for the fabulous gifts! I tried to pm/thank those people who left their names on their gifts, but of course I may have mixed some up or opened them and didn't keep track well. I do know that I got a mickey colored bag with a pair of scissors and other useful items, as well as some hand made coasters that no one took credit for, but thank you!

I know I used Marian's luggage tag and Erin's luggage handle to find our luggage when we disembarked.

I was also very touched that some of you gave gifts that were even baby specific, thank you! And others of you took the time to write a little about your gift...you all were much more organized than I was, I was literally writing welcome aboard on some white boards while walking around, I believe Gary/Gunka caught me outside of his cabin :)

We cannot wait to cruise again! :)

Thank you thank you thank you!!
Jennifer

I had so much fun making little things to put in FE's............and thanks for the gifts we recieved. Girls loved the neckless, boys loved the pirate booty, name glasses were great, magnet so cute..........frame w/decorated magnet clothes-pin so cute!!! I bet I'm forgetting something too. What a whirlwind fun week!!
Here is a pic of things I made............Thanks again!!!!

hmmmm wonder if I did that right .........:rotfl2:

My Dh and fellow golf port adventure mates can be thanked for the extra hour or so in Ensenda. He was the last to board ... golf adventure gone bad lol. He thanks all those who applauded him .

Wow what a great trip. In serious depression today, trying to figure out how we can go on another cruise very soon.

Thanks everyone for the awesome FE's. Lindsay would sprint from the elevator to our room and go crazy with every suprise.

It was very nice meeting you all in person. Still trying to figure out how we will get Lindsay to Australia for Summer's Birthday Party :rotfl2:

Well alright, according to my tracker we will be going on another cruise in 11 months and 3 weeks. I better get planning :thumbsup2

We really had a great time and I wanted to thank everyone for their advice and helping a DCL newbie with a ton of questions! Well we are trying to adjust to the reality of being back and it is hard! Thankfully we got an earlier flight out of LAX to Boston, but it still was a long way home.

We were a bit late coming to the meet-up and I felt that I had a really hard time remembering all the screen names with real names/faces and I felt I knew the kids names on FE1 better than the adults based on the FE items. So if I passed you and didn't "know" you, I apologize!

My daughter did hit if off with erbie's younger daughter and I hope she didn't disturb your meals too much. ;) We were in the same dining rotation and she always wanted to say "hi". I also got to chat with erbie and HBmomof2 a bit and all of our girls hung out at the pool and club.

I wish I got to meet more of you (especially Marian as we chatted a lot before leaving via PM), but we seemed to do a lot of anti-social events (all the shows, some movies, lectures) where not a lot of meeting or talking took place. :rotfl2: It was hard to get to everything we wanted (I missed the towel folding demonstration!).

Thank you all to those on FE#1 and to Gail for organizing it! It was a blast and I'm so glad we did it. My DD was so exited to come back and find all sorts of treats. I think we caught gunka and family as they made their delivery and were coming down the hall. We also walked out on erbie and her girls. Everytime DD heard people when we were in our cabin she wanted to check "the pouch". You all really made it fun!

I also really appreciated all the creativity and time it must have taken to pull it together. The gifts that represented your hometown or country were fabulous. All of the homemade items were very much treasured as well. I am impressed by the sewing, knitting, general crafting, jewelry making you took on. I'm listening to one of the CDs now. And the practical thing were so useful! Honestly we loved it all. DD just was impressed by everything!

I also want to thank Gail for organizing FE1 and the postcard exchange. And to erbie for organizing the scavenger hunt. I feel terrible that we didn't complete much of it and didn't turn ours in, but it made us learn a bit more about the Wonder.

Although we didn't participate in the cabin crawl (thanks to 4boons), it sounded like fun.

Thank you all for making our cruise special!

We brought a separate suitcase for our FE gifts and I think we filled it up and then some with all the goodies left for us. I haven't had a chance to look at a lot of the things we received since our FE was hanging at the kids' stateroom, but they kept telling us about all the good stuff they were bringing in. A big THANK YOU to everyone! I'm excited to go through it all when I have time to really appreciate it instead of just giving it a quick glance while running out the door to the next activity... or meal. :rotfl:

It's funny because we stopped by your kid's stateroom on I think the first day at sea and your FE was so jammed packed that we had to come back another time to deliver! My first thought was "this group is having a fabulous time that they have been back to their stateroom all day!" ;)
