We have our power back! 
The school district has cancelled school for the remainder of the week due to the state of emergency in Massachusetts. She was only supposed to have 2days of school next week anyways then another week off...wonder if they'll open the schools for 2 days next week?

I LOVE IT! DS actually wore pants (usually wears shorts!) to school today!
I agree...its hard to get in the spirit of the season when your wearing shorts and its 80 degrees
We've only spent two Christmases down here (first two years.) Last year we went to Disney and this year we are going to Pennsylvannia...where there better be SNOW (with my luck they'll have a heat wave the 10 days we are there!) We are taking DS skiing for the first time!

Prison tour might just work. Only problem is he will look at me and tell me to stop being so dramatic that it's only his homework that is not getting done so that won't put him in prison. lol I can save that one for later though.
We are expected to get 5 inches of snow today here too and more on Thursday. Did you get the warmer weather (near 50 degrees) over the weekend like we did?

You and Antss are a match made in heaven liking the cold weather.
I don't mind the snow as much as the cold myself but I would gladly trade both for warm weather even at Christmas. I am just cold blooded so it takes a lot for me to overheat. I love Florida in August and September but Pheonix, AZ at that time of year is even better. My dream is actually to live in Pheonix someday. I love everything about it including the style of the houses and the gecko's. Only problem is DH is opposite and hates the heat but loves the cold. I was so thrilled to hear him complain about the cold today and asked if he was ready to move to a warm climate yet. lol We have nothing keeping us where we are so I am hopeful that someday he will come around.

I cannot remember a year when someone did not comment that the weather was unusual. I usually think that is silly cause if it is always unusual then it cannot be unusual. 
Southern Indiana is pretty temperate and we do not get much snow as a rule and then usually after Christmas. This year we have had smatterings of snow but a whole lot of cold and a couple of ice storms. Bodes ill for the rest of the season.

Ang, you tell Will that he is MY feller and he best forget those young gals, they will lead him astray. Oops, he probably wants to be led astray. No electronics should get him back in line, I hope.
Bonz, ISP is much cheaper than Culver. Uniforms are cheaper as well.

jmskinner, I cannot abide the heat. I can always put on more clothes but there is a limit as to how many you can take off and even then you still are HOT! BTW, you made me blush with your previous comments. I am only doing what comes naturally, to me. Small skills add up, I hope.
Diva K, you do the reverse of the snowbirds, going to the cold in the winter. Makes sense to me. Have a safe and wonderful trip!

The good news is that the weather should be alright for my trip Friday. One less thing to worry about.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that my DH is no longer holding my camera hostage. A year ago when he got home from Iraq I had a Mustang waiting in the garage for him. Since we moved here, he has wanted to get another car so he wouldn't put so many miles on the Stang everyday. Well, I was trying to wait until after Christmas, but they are tearing up the highway to our subdivision and I didn't want the paint on the Mustang getting torn up, so I gave him, found a used Saturn last week. So, after the first day of having it he starts telling me how it has satellite radio and all these other extras. I looked at him, got up, went to the closet, took out my camera and said "you got your Christams present early, I get mine!" He couldn't argue so he let me open it, and then proceeded to take pictures with it. But I have my camera.
Now I just have to learn how to use all those settings.
Keep warm everyone in the cold and stay cool to those in the warmth. We are to be in the 80's for the next couple of days. Wish I was WDW! If only I homeschooled the kiddo.

yeah me too... and I will def'ly work a couple of extra weeks this year before I go for my next trip... def'ly have to buy the camera I wanted.... the camera I have did well on day time but yukky at night... thank god it was just a freebie camera and I did not have to spend any money for it... its the samsung 860... anybody have this??? maybe I am doing something wrong and maybe it can still be fix before I throw it away!!!

Diva K... uploading pics... as soon as I get situated pics will be up... it was a December to remember... and something I will be remembering and plan not on doing again... with Mousefest... taping of the parade... Pop Warner... and a series of convention it was like "nightmare before Christmas"
Reb saw Miley Cirus(sp?) and I had a glance with Kelly Ripa's DH at Mk and the mother of the Jonas Brothers... so nothing spectacular... also was able to reconnect to some old diser pals like Donna and Rich and Reb and a few others... some did the monorail drinkathon while we did the shopathon they had 50% off on Xmas stuff etc... so it was great... and got a few free lapulapu to drink... did a couple of nights @ JR and that was fun... as always I am the designated driver... also with this trip I have my godson who was 4 so that was the highlight of the trip plus of course mom. Godson was pump every morning
... got him to do some cool stuff... got him to do the JJP on board with his mom... found him a good sit at the laugh floor... made him shirts and bottons that got him noticed everyday... he got choosen being an honorary lost boy for the day after a Peter Pan Ride... he got choosen for a play game at EPCOT... Pooh bear got him a XMas gift (well I brougth the gift and PoohBear just brought it to our table )...he got to ride at the monorail nose thats what he calls it to sum it alll up it was a good but very busy week... something I dont plan to do again anytime soon...

jan2 it was busy... but it was also great... there were a few mousefest meet /breakfast I was able to do but cannot remember everyone since I am not well verse with mousefest... will have to read on it and try again enxt year

So, is it DtD that has all the sales, or is the merchandise in the parks on sale also? I was thinking of making a trip this weekend to look for a graduation gift for a friend and maybe a couple of Christmas gifts.
I would love to do Mousefest also. I wasn't willing to go by myself this year, but maybe I can meet up with someone next year or be so tired of my family not wanting to go that I just go by myself.
