Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Timmy, Timmy, Timmy what am I gonna do with you. lol Notice I stole Kristin's Mickey and the words next to him are missing. He is much cuter than your Edward Norton.

I GOT A PIN CODE!!!!!!! I've never got one before. Mickey will give me a 500.00 gift card if I would only come see him. I'm off to check some numbers...
Bonz, sounds like we are sharing the same weather patterns. I don't ever remember a winter where it was this cold for this long. Bring on summer!:beach:

wooohoo I hope your dates fall on my weekend off!!!!!!!!!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

What a cute Mickey. I wish we would have some snow.

SG, where does your friend live? It is chilly here today. One of those days when the sky is clear and looks sunny and warm. Then you walk out and the wind just bites you in the "you know what!" I hate days like this. If it is going to be cold, I want it to be cloudy.

janjandis Congrats on the code! How cool!

Well, I managed to get up, take the dog over to the opthamologist clear across town, only to learn that I was a day early. They still saw me though.:cheer2: Very nice office. But here is the crazy part, I thought I just had written the wrong date down, it wasn't until I got home and was going to sign us up for a passholder event that I figured out today is only the 4th and not the 5th.:sad2: I think I have lost my mind.

Oh, and Timmy. I like your Ed Norton pic in your sig. A little eye candy as I scroll through the thread.

Kristin,
I love tink too but she won't fit in my signature line. lol I hope you don't mind my stealing Mickey?

JanJan,
I was reading on a thread that someone said the 7 for 4 is more savings than the pin codes out there. They compared the children stay/play/eat free, 40%off, and $500 gift card. The only one that was a better deal was free dining if you wanted dining. I would still run your numbers but keep that in mind. I also heard that today they extended 7 for 4 till 8/15 if booked by 3/29. HTH

Snow envy? I have TEXAS envy! I've never wanted to more there more than this year. We (along with just about everyone else on this thread) had the snowiest December on record for our area. Roads were closed for days, no mail or UPS deliveries (the week before Christmas, no less), and kids were off school for an entire week.

Of course, we didn't get all that much snow, but we get it so seldom that the cities/counties/states are completely unprepared for it. And we live on a hill, so when it snows, we're really stuck. Though we did put the chains on the 4x4 truck one night to go pick up pizza. At least we have our priorities! :upsidedow

I think someone said the 4/3 deal equates to 43% off the room, so more than the pin codes. Still not as good as free dining, but it got us! I was shocked that they extended it through the busy summer season, until I saw the earnings report for Disney--they're really hurting right now. We're doing our part to help stimulate their economy this year! :cool1:

think..think..think... I wish I can do 7 night trips... :rolleyes2 but work will not let me!!!

Darned work, getting in the way of fun!

I'm doing my part stimulating their economy too. Right now Disney seems to need it since they keep doing buy outs and lay offs with the next round coming in March. I read an article that said they are down 27% in revenue for their bookings this year. Also their stock is the lowest I have ever seen it at $19 per share. It was $37 about a year ago. I am thinking I have to stimulate my favorite company some more by buying stock now. lol

tell me about it !!! But I truly have to watch the bookings I do... a couple of months back.. I was just chatting with my not so BFF... and next thing I know I am booked at POP for June :p ... then I called to change a ressie for April.. got chatty with the CM... I am now booked at POP again for July 4th.... and if I keep on talking to you and Lisa.. I might end up in August also :rotfl2: and I got a text from Bonzi and trying to get hold of Keli... checking when do I get to see them again... bad.. bad.. bad influence I tell yah :hyper:

Ang I hope that price holds till April 15 :worship:

I got two code offers in one day. Disney must be hurting, but not enough for me.

One code, snail mail, offered me the $500 gift card. Unless I could take the five day passes and a bit of the gift card and put it toward AP's and use the rest to pay for the weekend room in between two ressies I fail to see how that is a good deal. Could I do such? Just wondering.

The other was an email for the Free Dining, same as the bounceback. I have not gotten into the details of that but I still remember the heat of last year and am not too tempted.

I want to pay $49 for my room, get free dining and I am willing to pay full price for my park tickets, just to be kind. :lmao:

JM, my friend lives just north of Orlando. Her son and dil snookered her for everything she owned and tossed her into a nursing home. She is about my age. Her brother got her out and brought her to FL and she lives on a few hundred a month and while her health has improved she lives on the edge of being homeless. I keep in touch with her and try to snag pics of her grandkids to send to her when I can.

Timmie, you are just too popular and so easy. I mean easy as in wanting to go to DW all the time. :rotfl2: You will cave, save yourself the time and effort and just go for it!

Ang, you are the resident "Go to Disney as cheap as you can" expert. What do you think of the current deals? I am not seeing anything really great, especially with the upcharge on weekends and such. I cannot justify the costs to get there and back for a mere five days.

Jan, I done missed you girl. I am delighted with your news. Would be better if it were when I was there though. I would know YOU on sight!:thumbsup2

If there are so many deals right now it should be interesting to see what happens later in the year.

Had a busy day and have a Netflix movie waiting for me. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. I loved the book.

not popular Ms. Linda.. I just have good friends who let me tag along with their trips... so yup I am at their/your mercy... friends who even though I get on their nerves bending their ear till the wee hours of the night :lmao: are still nice enough to overlook my short comings and still nice enough not to hide or put me on caller block :rotfl2:

It is going to be above freezing today! The sun is shining brightly and starting to melt some of the ice. Might even defrost the cup of iced tea I have in the car. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow is going to be in the 40's and Saturday in the 50's with a possiblity of 60's at some point next week. One might think that spring has sprung but they ain't a foolin' me. Indiana weather is predictable, in its unpredictability that is. :rotfl2:

Diva K, my friends son was in my 4-H group and I thought so much of him that if he and my daughter had gotten together I would have been delighted. It has been shocking to watch. His wife is currently recovering from brain surgery as they recently found a brain tumor. I wonder if that is what made her so mean or being so mean caused the tumor. I have a dil who is equally deranged but I am not not as trusting or gullible as my friend. I do not understand such. :confused3

Gee Timmie, I thought the definition of popular was being someone people wanted to spend time with? :wave2:

I have to teach my next door neighbor how to use my Garmin for his trip to Texas etc. He is going to relive some of his WW2 memories. He deserves the trip. He is one of those guys who gives so much and yet is so humble about it all. I love him. I have his blood in my veins as he gave me a pint once. What a friend! He turns 80 this year and you would never know it. I could not keep up with him on a slow day. Never could. :cheer2:

Maybe the people will show up to install the hot water heater today. One more thing off the list. Now I am having plumbing problems but I think I can fix that myself. I hope.

Hope the sun is shining on all of you and you receive the code of your dreams!

I'm not Ang, but here are my thoughts on current offers: 4/3 is not as good as free dining (especially for we "Pop Tarts," who are happy with value accomodations), at least for our family. With less people in the room, though, it might actually be better, since the room discount is 43%--more than most of the pins. The downside is to stay longer than 7 days (and still maximize the free days), you would have to book 2 separate packages, with 2 separate ticket purchase requirements.

The same likely holds true for the $500 gift card pin--if it's limited to 5 days, you'd have to book 2 separate packages with 2 separate tickets. You could just purchase 1 day base tickets (since you can only upgrade one ticket at a time), but how many of those do you already have laying around, and how many more do you want? Like you, it's expensive and time consuming for us to get there, so we can't do the frequent, short trips that are the mainstay of Ms Timmy's life!

One of the big benefits for us on the 4/3 deal was the discounted tickets. Not the extra days, as those are only worth a few $$ each, but the extra non-expiring days, which are worth quite a bit more. We booked 10 day NE tickets with our 4/3 package, so we only had to pay for 7 day NE tickets--a savings of about $100 per ticket. We can then take the 10 day NE tickets, use them once, and upgrade them (at full gate value of a 10 day NE) to AP's for a savings of about $100 per AP. At least that's what I've been told--we'll see what actually happens in about 7 weeks. Some folks are reporting that they are no longer able to add the NE option on new 4/3 bookings, but I was still able to do it online, so who knows?

As for applying the gift card to ticket/weekend room purchases, for the most part, I think you can. I never thought about using the gift card for ticket upgrades, but I bet it would work. And in the past, we've used gift cards towards our room charges, including the room itself, so I would bet that could be done as well. The only thing that would get you on the weekends is the one day deposit you have to put down when you book--that you would have to pay up front. Maybe they could refund it to your cc once you arrive, and then you could give them the gift card? Anyway, that's my $.02.

BTW--jealous of your free dining pin code! We're booked with bounceback, but that didn't begin until August 23, and I've heard the new pin code begins August 16. Because we stay for 2 weeks, August 23 puts us there until Labor Day weekend. Because Labor Day is so late this year, I suspect school will begin before it, so kids would have to miss first week. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it would be more convenient to be able to move it up and avoid the issue altogether.

Enjoy your moment of sunshine! We got up in the 60's on Wednesday, but now we're back to rain rain rain.

So sad :sad2:

Enjoy! :happytv:

:wave2:

Yes.. one of this days I plan to marry one of those bellhops... better yet forget about marrying I am just gonna take his job :thumbsup2

frequent trips... this is my Disney Math on the frequesnt trips... If I drive to go fishing in NJ... for one way tank of gas (my car loves to drink premium:crazy2: ) that would cost me about $30 plus $5 toll... and going home... that would be $35 plus $4 dollars again for toll... total of $74... then if I got lazy to go home then I am gonna end up staying over... the cheapest hotel stay would be about $99 plus tax about $110... so total of $184...

if I get a good Ding... like my trip for June...have the AP ticks already... I got a rt of $110... I got 2 nights POP for $140 total of $250 for 2 nights against $184 for one night... for another $66 I can enjoy seeing the World... :scratchin Food??? well I still need to go to a restaurant and eat at NJ... so I will just have to eat at WDW then :beach:
