SEPT 2009 code watch

I live in Cleveland Oh and have a long, cold, snowy winter ahead of me. I need to focus on something else at least until spring. Hopefully we'll have a few more people join before SEPT of 09 that way when we get there we can have a meeting of the people who have been on the site.
Chuck

I'm in Cleveland too! :wave2:

Not sure what our dates for disney will be yet, probably end of September (maybe starting free dining with the last date of the offer, if offered!).

I'm East of cleveland in Lake County so you know about the lake effect snow, but in about 380 days:cool1: we'll be in Disney having fun . That seems like a long time when you see in written down.

It sure does! I'm not going to start a "ticker" in my signature until it's officially less than one year! (I'm in Parma).

Signing on! We used a 40% off code to book our room for Dec trip this year. I think we got it early spring. Maybe Feb. I am hoping for another. I am planning a trip with myself, DD who will be 10 & DNieces 9 & 5 who have never been. I am also considering bringing a college aged female to help with the kids. My Brother isn't a amusement park fan and I don't know if my husband cound stand all the girliness. I think a girls only vacation would be fun. We will probably go in September again.

That's what I'm hoping ! This Feb I met up a couple of times with different Dissers! One time to watch the fireworks at P&PP and another at MK .It was brief but so good to actually meet the Dissers !!We have plenty of time to figure something out and I am open to any suggestions !!

I'm in Western New York, but have been to Cleveland a few times . I'm pretty sure we stayed with friends in Parma a few years ago. Remember when there was a Seaworld there or close by!!

Sorry, but seaworld is gone.I've been as far east in NY as Darien Lake to see a Martina McBride concert. Been to the falls, that place never gets old for me. To think I live 3Hrs from there and people come from all over the world to see it. Yes as time gets closer we'll have to see how many people from this thread that we can see that would be pretty neat. Get a picture so we can post it on here with a sign saying wish you were here.

Mt Grandaughters went to the Jonas Bros. Concert at Darien this month! I knew that Seaworld had closed we used to go there each year when the girls were little. As for posting a pix I don't know how !! That's why they call me the Whiz:rotfl2:

:cheer2: I booked the trip!!:cool1: Confirmation numbers and everything! It's official now I am going Sept 15th - 30th 2009. Yeah !!!:dance3:

I haven't booked yet, but my 25th anniversary is next Sept. I didn't even know about the 40% off codes and now I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We want to stay at the Poly but our budget has always only run to POFQ, which, I admit, has been wonderful.
Aside from free dining, what is the benefit of going during September when it's hot, as opposed to the latter two weeks of October, when it should be a bit cooler?

We always go in Sept. the nice thing is that its not overly busy. It gets hot some, 2yrs ago we caught the last of a heat wave 5days at 90+ but that is rare. We like going when the temp. isn't so great between Ohio and Fla. if we go later one of us gets a cold down there and the other gets one when we get home. We also like to go from a Sunday to when ever. Otherwise you end up with 2 weekends on your vacation and even in Sept Disney will be busy on weekends. Hope this helps you make up your mind some. Not to mention the last time we had free dining we tallied up $1200.00 worth of just dinners (table services) that goes a long way for us. Its just my opinion not to mention we will be staying at the POFQ next year so you already know somebody there.

Good for you, we will be going from the 13th -22nd I believe unless we add more time to the back end of our trip.Free dining would help!!! it will be here before you know it, and we'll all be having fun. CONGRATES TO YOU:banana:

I've gone in Sept for my last 2 trips. They were before Free Dining was offered so I 'm curious to see what kind of impact that will have on the parks. The reasons I love Sept are...:
#1 Value season. Opportunities for great rates on the rooms.
#2 Warm (hot) enough for the waterparks.
#3 Low crowds. In 2000 and 2002 Sept most rides were walk on's. I rode Space Mountain 3 times without getting off and Kali RR twice. The CM's just kept asking if I wanted to go again until I said No. I think the longest I waited for anything was 15 mins for Peter Pan.

Of course it has been 6 yrs and things may have changed as far as attendance levels go. I am a little bummed that free dining has made ADR's necessary during this time period. But I'm sure that all the free food will help me get over my disappointment:laughing: .

I even like the predictable afternoon showers. They usually seemed to come on when the lines were the longest and I 'd pull out my trusty poncho and walk to the front of the line while everyone else made a mad dash to the closest gift shop to get out of the torrential downpour. 30 mins later when the rain stopped the park had emptied out.

Love Love Love September:love:

We've been to disney 3yrs now. Each with the dining plan 1st year we had to pay $200.00 for it and the parks were basically empty. we didn't use a fast pass the entire 10 days we were there. 2nd year the dining was free and the parks were getting full, but still no hassle and no fast pass.Last year we had to switch resorts to get the free dining and the parks were busy, at least by our standards used fast pass often. But I have to weigh that with the $1200.00 we ate in food last year.We did sit down for dinner every night, used our CS at the resort for breakfast and didn't use all of our snacks. We bought some candy for some kids and there parents as we were leaving. So expect it to be busy but I have to keep looking at what I didn't spend on food its worth it.

Do only the mods and deluxes get free dining? Another thought Chuck as you are the OP how about you edit post #1 and start a list of who is going in Sept and where they are staying !! Could be fun if not to much work for you!!

Sounds good to me. I have some time to spare, I fell off a ladder at work in April and haven't been back since. Now it looks like I'll have to be retrained by the state for something totally different due to DR. Orders only can lift 20#. So I'll be glad tp start up awho's going and where everybody is staying at with dates .

Chuck

I can only edit posts that I have done. So do you want me to put all the names, dates, and resorts here or should we start a new one with that info. Either way its fine by me.

Chuck

We're also planning for 9/09, not quite sure on dates yet. Can someone tell me, if I book now with AAA and receive whatever discount they give me, and then free dining comes out in April (if it does), do I still get the AAA discount (which I understood to be 15% off a deluxe in our case)? I thought I understood that you only receive the free dining and no other discounts, but when I contacted a different travel agency today, they said I should book through AAA instead because of their discount, even though I told them we wanted to go during free dining? What am I not understanding? At this point, we are planning on the Poly and we have 2 adults/1 child/1 infant, should I book room-only through AAA or a package or just go through Disney? Is the 15% off deluxe resorts for room-only or is that applied to a package? Sorry, I'm just confused and want to book and have the security of reservations! Thanks for letting me rant!
