SEPT 2009 code watch

Just stumbled across this thread, I'll be subscribing now! We are planning a trip (hopefully) from either September 5-11 or 6-12, haven't booked yet, have to wait until we return home from vaca. in September.

Any word on special discount rates yet? I WISH I was one of those people who had the patience to wait until the last minute to book and wait for the deep deep discounted rates, but I don't. I was looking for packages in September 08 just out of curiosity and the Swan & Dolphin had discounts of like 40% and it would have only been something like $200 extra for our entire week-long stay instead of All-Star.

Crazy!!!

You don't have to wait until the last minute. When a code comes out you call back and apply it to your reservation. As long as there is availability at your resort, you can do it!

That's a good thing to know. I heard the rumor that some codes would be put out today...any chance anyone has seen them, what they are and when they apply?

I plan on booking a 7 day trip in Sept 09 at the PORS for my DH and I with our AAA discount. In April, if the free DDP comes out and it is more of a savings (which it always is) we will change our plan and upgrade to the free DDP. At that point, if a 40% off rate or something equally enticing comes out, I would be tempted to upgrade to the AKL instead of Port Orleans and use the 40% discount on the room and pay for dining.

For the 40% discounts, when do they come out/how often are they released/can they only be used towards certain hotels?

From what I can tell the codes ut today are for this fall, but I am not 100% sure.

The codes out yesterday were for travel through Dec 23rd 2008. As far as I've seen no codes for 2009 (any dates) have come out yet. September 2009 codes most likely won't be out until the spring. Free dining has come out in April the last couple years & then I think there were some codes that included Sept out in June.

If any postcards or emails w/PIN codes come out they are usually for certain dates & are sent out at different times throughout the year. Maybe there will be pixie dust for all of us & we'll all get a 40% code for September!! :wizard: :wizard:

So the wait for 2009 continues!!

Any thoughts on free dining for next year? I am thinking it will be the new cs plan and you will be able to upgrade from there !!Would you still be able to get a code as well as free ding or upgraded free dining! Last Feb I got apark admission upgrade but no room discount! Which is the best free dining or room upgrade or admission upgrade ??

I am guessing they would offer the CS dining plan as well if they do free dining. It would still save us more $$ than our AAA discount that we currently have booked. I know we would end up upgrading to the regular DP if it was available. I would be happier with a 40% discount though. Then I wouldn't have to spend so much time crunching numbers and trying to get the most out of the DP. Plus sometimes we do like to eat outside WDW (not that:rotfl2: )

You can only use one discount, so you'll have to do the math to see which is a better discount for you.

Count me in on the code watch. We've already booked WL w/ deluxe dining for Sept. 24 - Oct. 1, so now we're just waiting for some $$$ off! Can someone tell me if you can add a AAA discount to an already booked package (with a travel agent)?

I am subscribing, going this September and want to go next September. However, the free dining of CS holds no appeal to me. I want to get a code for % off a deluxe. Since we are a family of 5 40% of a deluxe standard room would not cost that much more for us.

Does anyone know, if they offer a percentage bounceback for September, or is it only the free dining??? If I get the free dining bounceback, can I ask if they have a discount on rooms instead?:confused3

I'm looking for any codes available! :goodvibes

We are going to book today or this week and hope for the free DDP, in which case we will take that because it ends up being a great savings for us.

The other option is if a 40% off code came out for Deluxe resorts, in which case I would upgrade to the AKL because it would end up being about the same as doing the PORS with the free DDP as it would to upgrade to the Deluxe and buy the DDP.

There is one Diser in particular that is willing to be money that the free DDP for 09 will not be the CS meal plan, but will instead be the basic that is usually offered.

Mbanks - if you are watching - let us know where you get this confidence from and if we are all just out of the loop. Is there something you know that we don't???

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Count me in for the watch for codes too. We booked POR for Sept20-24,2009. All of you that have said they have AAA discounts I have a question. I called my local AAA TA and he told me I could only get a room only ressie w/AAA discount and not the package like a I wanted. Is this true? I went and booked with another TA but wonder if I made a bad call. What is the AAA discount and is it only for rooms or can you get a package? TIA

I always book room only first thru AAA and then when the packages are announced the TA just changes it!!It has always been that the packages weren't vilable yet and I wanted to be sure of the room! But I have usually gone early in the year so that may have been why !!

It is only a room discount. They discount 15% for the value resorts I believe and 20% for the room. Once a new code or new package or anything comes out, you can just call the AAA travel agent and if there is a bigger savings using a code from Disney or the free DDP, you can change and it will remove your AAA discount in lieu of bigger savings with another code or rate.

I always book through a TA for Disney just because I know there will be so many changes. Whether it's the length of the stay once airfare comes out, to the constant hop v. not hop debate. If I had to make all of those changes myself, I'd be lost!

I have not been on the board in 2 years because that was the last time we went to WDW. While there we found out about our Daughter (she and my son are adopted from Korea and we got "the call" about her when we were there.) Anyway she will be 3 next year so we are starting to plan our Sept. 2009 trip (thinking about the 2ist-27th) for her first time in disney.. woo-hoo!!

Any way I just want to subscribe to this thread so i can get the best rates. We are doing a big family trip this time, grandma and grandpa, Aunt and Uncle. So we are looking to get 3 of the All Star Music suites, any pointers about that? Are they all in the same building and are they hard to get?

thanks for any help, happy to be back here. (^::lovestruc
