Sept 19-26 or Oct 3-10?

I'm trying to book our trip to Disney and am wondering if it's better to go mid sept or early oct? We are driving down. It's myself and 6 children. We are staying at the nickhotel possibly and the rate is a difference of $100 between sept or oct. Which is the better time to go? less crowds, not as hot or that doesn't make much of a difference? Besides, gas, food, hotel, and tickets what else am I forgetting to include? How much is parking for the parks when staying off site? Trying to keep this trip as cheap as possible so wondering also what everyone else's budgets are? Also, where can I find pricing for the character meals? We do splurge a little with those but hoping to keep this under $6k. Thanks!

September is not only hot, it's rainy, but the crowds are low. October is better for rain but still in the 80's and low 90's usually. The 12th is Christopher Columbus day and lots of schools in the south have a 'fall break' around then so the crowds are very high that weekend and medium for the rest of the month.

thank you. I do remember that last oct when we went there were days of rain. We would miss Columbus day as we'd go the first weekend in oct through the 2nd weekend(where we'd leave that sat). Does the weather make that much of a difference between 2-3 weeks? I guess what I mean is, is it much cooler from sept 26 to oct 3? Thanks.

No there really isn't any difference between your two dates as far as temp goes.

The weather gets better the further into October you get. My parents went last year in the last week of September and they said it rained quite a bit. A few years ago I went in the second week of October and had 80-85 degree weather and sunshine the entire time. It really is the luck of the draw, If rain will put a damper on your vaca go in October, if crowds will drag you down go in September.
