.... Now, this is just cruel and unusual punishment. I gave up eating anything after dinner and this looks good enough to just reach into my computer and eat it. I'm going to bed hungry again tonight.
KIMBERLY!!!! STOP!!! You are making me wonder if I have what it take to make the 1-2-3 recipe!!! YUMMY!!!!

Sorry ladies!!! I had a weak moment!

.....Of course, I'm hoping for the Buckeyes, and one thing I have in my favor is that they like to play at noon whenever possible. I think this has to do with the fact that if they play at noon, the tailgate drinking begins at 8am; if they play at 4pm, the tailgate drinking begins at 8am and if they play at 8pm, the tailgate drinking begins at 8am.

:lmao::lmao: That's so freaking hilarious and true!! I've had some awesome times down on campus tailgating!

We are home from our 2 day trip to WA state. Dennis is already in bed, still not feeling very well. He is really struggling with his eye sight. This is evidently a rapidly growing cataract and he was trying to read the Sunday comics when we got home and just gave up after struggling with just one strip......

Oh, and we stopped at a roadside fruit place and bought a box of peaches. Now I will be making peach jam and whatever else I can think of with these. Yummy! DS has already ordered a peach cobbler and Dennis wants a peach pie. :thumbsup2

Poor Dennis! It has to be soooo frustrating! :sad2:

:lovestruc My mouth is watering at the thought of fresh peaches! You have some really great plans for those juicy stones! I wish I could fly and and endulge with you!

Brethern and Sistern, I have an idea!

I propose that we first nominate, and then vote for a Friend of Tinkerbelle! This would be a person (or potentially a couple) who have spread the most pixie dust among the guests on the Magic before and during the WBTA.....

I think that's a fantastic idea, but indeed there have been more than one who have given that extra special love to all of us!

It's Monday morning here again folks....my weigh in day.....

21 lbs lost in 6 weeks!

:cool1::cool1:

....and dh has lost 28 lb in just 7 weeks!:cool1::cool1:

The hard work at the gym is paying off!:woohoo::woohoo:

:littleangel:

:dance3: EXCELLENT!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!

....Thanks everyone for your pixie dust and well wishes, It amazes me how much love everyone has here. Holly is doing OK, Surgery went well, she is home, dosed up on pain killers and low dose sedative to keep her calm. She won't let me out of her sight, that's OK, I won't let her out of my sight for a while!....

I'm so glad she's home with her momma! :dog: Hopefully she'll have a quick recovery and be feeling like herself in no time!

Ok, Im having a coffee and trying to calm myself by chatting to you peeps, I had the whole day planned out until Ruby Miss Two shoes, bogged off up the forrest...I come home to get phone and bike and leave the porch open and by the time I went back she was on her way home, an hour wasted standing around in the pouring rain wasted!!!.....
As so As I read Ruby Miss Two shoes I knew right off one of your beagles went exploring. You should be writing a kids books on the misadventures of your brood.....

I was thinking the same thing when I read "Ruby Miss Two Shoes! Sorry she' gave you a run for your sanity this morning, Lynne! I think the idea of being an author is brilliant! You always make me laugh with your wit!

.....so we cancelled--now we're back on, but just for us parents!! The kids are guilting us, but we are considering booking the May crossing for them. This'll be our third TA, so you KNOW how much we LOVE the DISNEY TA!!!!!!

Are there any lanyards still out there? If not, at least what color are they? We'll make due if we're too late. LOL! I'll even make my own handy-dandy name tag! The lanyards were so cool to have on the previous trips. I did send a note to Tigger(bunch of numbers), but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone remember me from other cruises??? Is Hadley still going? CAcruisin? I can't wait to see old friends. Lorraine!!!!! Here we go!!!!

Looking forward to my happy place!

Welcome back!!! As previously stated, Hadley is sadly no longer going with us. Marika's school was being extremely uncooperative with her missing school, so they took a Med cruise this summer when the kids had a break. There are many others here who will remember you though!

Erik and Jason are really close to starting their month-long vacation, so they're probably busy. I'm sure they'll be elated to know you're back on-board though! I remember you popping in on the Sept 2008 Double Dip Delight Thread and the "pressure" you were getting to join us, so no doubt they'll be thrilled!

The look of the lanyards will be a bit of a surprise. We do know that this time he ordered wider ones than he has in the past so they were more friendly for lanyard pins. You can sign up for wristbands with Krisannb. I think she has a post about it on either Page 1 or Page 2! Make sure you check out those pages for all kinds of things to catch up on, including the roll call on our website so you can see who you'll be seeing on-board!

Oh, and we stopped at a roadside fruit place and bought a box of peaches. Now I will be making peach jam and whatever else I can think of with these. Yummy! DS has already ordered a peach cobbler and Dennis wants a peach pie. :thumbsup2

Ooh, I want some, too!! I just made some wonderful gluten-free, dairy free cookies for my older son. Of course, I had to try one and they are to die for!! Easy, too. Only five ingredients--powdered sugar, cocoa, chocolate chips, walnuts, and egg whites. Kaz or Richard, if you want the recipe let me know!

Hubby said many years ago that he would never get a beagle. From the last 2 years of posts it shows he was right :)

Glad she came home really fast :) Sorry you are now soggy :) Enjoy your coffee!!!
Trust me, your hubby is spot on!!but its my own fault, I shouldnt let them off I suppose!
I feel your pain - we used to have Boxer like that... ;) Fortunately the OE Sheepdogs have no wanderlust and the Dal doesn't move so fast anymore!!! Tho' I did have to go racing after her pretty swiftly a couple of weeks ago when she suddenly took off - it's difficult with her as she's deaf too...

Had a good morning as I finally got around to ordering magnetic paper and replenishing my printer's ink cartridges - I will have door magnets!!!
keep you fit that will.
It is Moogie you were talking about right? Only difference is... She is a Golden Retriever... Or better Mudriever...

Know exactly what you are talking about and how you feel!

Next time ... cats? .... NO! We still love them :lovestruc
yes we do,thats the prblem!
Thank you to all of you that reassured us about Barcelona. I was really beginning to freak out about being there. I live about an hour from NYC, and have never really felt nervous about walking from the theater area back to Penn station to go home. But I've always kept on my guard, and realize that's what I have to do in Barcelona.

What is everyone wearing while touring in Barcelona. Usually I wear shorts and tees, but I read that that's a sure sign that you're a tourist and it's not recommended. Any suggestions?
I will be wearing shorts and t shirts.
We were booked as a family until we realized that the 3 in high school would just miss too much school--so we cancelled--now we're back on, but just for us parents!! The kids are guilting us, but we are considering booking the May crossing for them. This'll be our third TA, so you KNOW how much we LOVE the DISNEY TA!!!!!!

welcome back, ignore r they pesky kids
Well done to Mandy for the weight loss - I am so envious! That`s where I`d like to be without the hard work ;)
Lynne  so sorry about your beagle baby, I used to find a neighbours dog wandering round town, if you told him off, he would slink home.

Regarding honours for the hard workers on this board, I really wouldn`t like to single out just one person, as many have worked so hard. If say 6 or 7 could be honoured equally then I would happily nominate :goodvibes

Now if we could have a wooden spoon award for those who have benefitted enormously for the efforts others have put in without making the slightest effort themselves, I would like to nominate myself. Thankyouverymuch.

Me too, I nominate me:lmao:

That is a fantastic achievement. Well done to both of you.

Corinna
Wow, fantastic!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

:thumbsup2 Well Done! :thumbsup2

You superstars!!! That's amazing!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

I'm intending to get back to the gym tomorrow. I've had too much time off this summer and not been particularly committed. I've kept up with my cardio but hurt my knee last weekend so did NOTHING last week. That's not good and I am starting to feel blah. Hopefully a couple of sessions per week from now until the cruise will help... :thumbsup2

Well done to both of you!

:cool1:Well done, but youre depressing me:worship:

Well done to Mandy for the weight loss - I am so envious! That`s where I`d like to be without the hard work ;)

Thanks for all the good wishes! In all fairness it's really not been too hard! We've not denied ourselves everything....had the odd drink and even a pastry or 2....but then we do have lots to lose.......Just crossing fingers (and zipping mouth ;)) so we don't put it all back on during the cruise! :rolleyes1

Thanks everyone for your pixie dust and well wishes, It amazes me how much love everyone has here. Never heard of Ron Jon's, will need to google that one!
Oh yep, Love Sephora, I'm like a kid in a candy store there! :yay:

Ron Jon's is a great 'surf' type shop...you probably have loads where you are :thumbsup2...sells, ***********, Volcom, Roxy etc
There's one at Festival Bay in Orlando too......:goodvibes

Glad Holly is recovering

READ ONLY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A ST MAARTEN TOUR

A Bernard Tour in St Maarten has been booked and deposited. So far, we have a total of 12 people confirmed. Two others, Connie (Con5421) and Steamboat Will (Warren) have expressed interest. If we can get up to 8 more persons interested, we can reserve a second van.

I have forwarded the information to Graham to see if he would be interested. I will let you know by tonight if we want in.
Thanks for letting me know. Please let me know one way or the other via PM.

By my calculations, most of the jewellery kits should start arriving today or tomorrow. Can you please let me know either on here or by PM once you get yours. So far there is one that was sent to the UK that may be on the missing list.

Corinna

I have not received mine yet so if I don't get it by tomorrow, I will PM you.

Thanks again!!!!

I'll race ya on the Pelican Plunge Corrina! :dance3:
Oh yes, I love yankee candle, haven't heard of Torrid, actually don't remember ever seeing it, will be on the look out! Thanks

Here is the Torrid website

Oh, My mum wants some of those, am I right that I saw them at Macy's, or was it somewhere else?

NYDJ can be purchased at Macy's online for sure. I buy mine at Nordstroms because of alterations I need to have done to the leg length due to having short legs.

Love A & F, just to go and smell the store, lol, but there sizes are teeny tiny, I couldn't squeeze into a large!

I am just the opposite, I hate the smell and the loud music. The sizes are hard for even young teenage girls. Many of the girls that shop there have trouble with the sizes. The only ones I know who have no problems are size 0-4.

Thanks everyone for your pixie dust and well wishes, It amazes me how much love everyone has here. I 100% understand your problem (I suffer too) so sincerely hope you have no negative reactions onboard..

I only wear a small amount of Shalimar so I hope I do not offend. Shalimar had been my signature fragrance since I was a teenager.

Only place I've ever been pickpocketed was on the Metro in Paris. I lived there at he time and was showing my friend (who was visiting) around. We were going thro' the turnstiles at CDG Etoiles and a plain clothes policeman stopped us. He's been following a known PP and had spotted her taking a purse from my pocket. It was an empty purse that I usually kept metro tickets in and was very close to my hip in the pocket of tight jeans - I hadn't felt a thing!!! We were taken thro' the underbelly of the Metro station to a police surveillance area and shown video tapes of it happening - scary stuff... They caught her, retrieved my purse and I had to make a statement - it really made me much more careful... :sad2:

We had a similar experience on the Metro but the act was not completed. I caught the person attempting to put his hand in my bag which only had some souvenirs that I had purchased. I made such a fuss that he jumped off at the next exit.

I don`t know if anyone is planning on leaving Gibralter and travelling into Spain? I`ve been talking to dsis this morning who lives in Spain and says there has been further problems in the town of La Linea this weekend causing access problems into Gib.
Here`s a link to a news story.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/2010081...ingibraltardiplomacyroadtravel_20100810181722

Interesting. Might be able to use this for social studies for homeschooled son and maybe even for regular schooled son as part of his independent study, if that is what they let him do. The history of how Gibraltar came to be--need to learn more about this.

Now if they were calorie free they'd be perfect!:cool1::thumbsup2

I wish!!

Ohh, I'd love the recipe. My DIL's mom has celiac's and I would love to give her some cookies when I make the regular ones!

I'll post it soon. It was in last week's newspaper, so I need to type it into my recipe collection on my computer, as it is definitely a keeper. I am slowly writing my own cookbook that I can pass down to my sons when they fly the coop. Some are recipes I've copied, some are ones I've made up myself.

Mandy - Congrats on the weight loss!

Hayley - so glad to hear that surgery went well. Keep us posted.

Angie - sorry to hear about Dennis - hope he is feeling better. Let us know all the peach stuff you make.

I would like to nominate Glenn for the pixie dust! He has updated, added, gave this cruise some flair, added a football event and has not complained once during all our requests!!!

DizzneyDAnn - welcome back! I was with you on the EBTA '07 and still have the picture of your husband and you dancing in Rockin Bar D! Hope things are going well. CACruisin is in nursing school so she cannot make the trip either.

On my way to Tampa again. Friday I was backing out of the garage and hit the rearview mirror on the side of the garage. I told my DH that it is the "rite of passage" for women. I have 6 girlfriends that have hit, drove into, or ruined something in or near their house with the car. It is a chick thing. Needless to say, now I have to pay the price and drive the car to Tampa, sit and wait and PAY THE BILL!:scared1:

Everyone have a great day!!!

I copied the information below from a website about Barcelona.

The Spanish really care about their personal appearance and image, they don’t really wear casual clothes as we know it. The Catalans especially are very proud people and like to look good. They are keen on designer clothes but even more important to them is quality and fitting. It is not hard to find Spanish clothes of very good quality at a reasonable price, which is great for visitors.

Do respect religion. The church is still an integral part of Spanish life and wearing shorts or being scantily dressed whilst visiting a church will not be appreciated.

Do not flaunt what you’ve got! When my friend came to Spain she complained of all the disapproving looks she got from the older people on the metro. This was because she was wearing a mini skirt, which is no crime but perhaps consider dressing more conservatively.

Do dress up a bit if you are going out for a nice supper. You won’t be turned away if you’re dressed casually but you will probably get some looks.

Do not wear shorts in the city, save them for the beach, wearing them elsewhere will label you as a tourist. A skirt or loose-fitting trousers are just as good in the heat and will protect you from the sun.

Do take the time to have a look around the shops, there is a great variety of shops here, and as I’ve already mentioned the quality of the clothes is normally good.

Do not wear a bumbag. I know they’re very useful but tourists mainly wear them, and in fact they are easily removed by slight-handed thieves. If you must wear them then the Spanish tend to carry them on their shoulders like a normal bag.

Spot the tourist! Classic examples of clothes not to wear if you want to blend in with the locals

Do not wear shorts/mini skirt with strappy tops/bikinis. Despite the fact that on the beach less is better seems to be the rule (don’t be shocked at topless girls with thong bikinis..there are loads of all ages!) in the city women tend to be more conservative. Dressing in what could be seen as a provocative way will most likely get you some unwanted attention.

If you do get attention the best thing to do is completely ignore it, sustained eye contact could be taken as a sign of flirting.

Typical summer clothes worn by the locals in Barcelona
Do choose fitted styled clothes. The Spanish dress well and their clothes fit well and look sophisticated. In the Winter people tend to look quite smart all the time, in fitted jackets, boots and darker colours.

Do not wear bright, garish coloured clothing. You will notice that as a rule the Spaniards seem to prefer muted, autumnal colours, like green, yellow ochre and burgundy. However this is changing and shops for the young are full of brighter clothes. Whichever way you choose to go also remember that the Spanish are big on outfit coordination, clashing colours and mis-matched styles are a no!

Do get your denims out, they are very popular here in every style and worn throughout the year.

Do not forget about your shoes, the Spanish love shoes, and for them a pair of shabby shoes can let down a whole outfit.

Business Clothes:

If you are coming to Barcelona for business then bring your work clothes. For men you will be expected to wear jackets and ties even if it's hot. Women wear dresses or skirts.

As a general guideline, the more casual your clothes are (shorts, vests, flip flops) the more you will stand out as a tourist.

Barcelona is however a vibrant multi-cultural city so I wouldn’t worry too much, unless you really want to blend in and look as local as possible. After all nowadays you can find every styled clothing here from dread locked hippies, trendy denim clad teenagers to smart, conservative dressers.

I hope these Barcelona Clothes tips and dress code will help you feel more relaxed on your visit to Barcelona. There are thousands of tourists who don't have a clue what to wear and are easily spotted. With this article you needn't be one of them if you don't wish to be.

I love newcastle, we go to meet a df sometimes, she is a proper friend, one you can look up after 2 years and we act like its been 2 days:hug:
We wnet to newcastle to do the great north run 2 years ago,(she picked us up and dropped us of like she was a taxi!) It was one of the most amazing days of my life, actually our life, it was great, the red arrows done a fly past just as we came over the line, I cried, Len tried his best not to.....
Its a shame but weve no pics.

I think we would like to go and spend more time there. Seems like lots of interesting places to visit.

Our son is doing the Great North Run this year.

Have a lovely day, Marilyn and John... xxx

We had a great time thank you Karen. We also spoke to Bob by Skype and webcam!!! He is very fed up, but should be home Thursday I think.

Please send all your spare pixie dust......
We were spending a beautiful day on the boat, lazing in the sun, boys having a few beers, girls giggling and gossiping, kids fishing until.......Belly caught Holly, yep, Holly ate the fish hook, swallowed it whole.
Lucky Mum was there with her car at the beach so we raced her straight to the 24hr Animal Hospital, Poor baby needs surgery to remove the hook which is in her stomach. So I had to leave my baby at the hospital and come home empty handed.
Waiting at home for the phone call now....waiting......waiting......waiting.....
She should be home tomorrow morning, $2000 later!

Oh dear. Poor thing. I read later she is ok and no doubt feeling sorry for herself a little, so that is good news.

Tristan turned 11 months yesterday...

Lovely photo, and cute children.

Our friends in-laws just came back from Barcelona two weeks ago. They are well travelled and live in San Francisco, pretty street wise. In the middle of the afternoon on La Ramblas, a middle aged, well dressed man walked by her and said to her, in English, "you've got something on the back of your sweater' and kept on walking away. Her husband looked and found someone had squirted catsup on her back. Still holding their purse and camera he used a napkin to wipe off the catsup and while their attention was on that someone else came up to them grabbed her purse and his camera and ran off. He took flight after him but fell. No one tried to help and the police didn't seem to care. It was nothing unusual, just another dumb tourist. Luckly, being the wise traveler, she had their passports and credit cards in a waist wallet. You can't be on guard every second only try your best. val

Another thing to be on the lookout for. Thanks for the warning.

This was me as well! I remember having to take some awful tasting, black, thick goo if I did not eat properly! Then at age 9 a doctor suggested removing my tonsils so that I would gain weight. :confused3 Yeah, thanks ALOT doc!!! :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: They liked us chubby in those days!!

We are home from our 2 day trip to WA state. Dennis is already in bed, still not feeling very well. He is really struggling with his eye sight. This is evidently a rapidly growing cataract and he was trying to read the Sunday comics when we got home and just gave up after struggling with just one strip. He also had me drive the whole trip, which is really unusual. He loves to drive the mountain passes....me not so much! I'm glad he has just another week before he gets it fixed. He also has been struggling with a cold for several days. That's what he gets though for bragging that he has not had a cold in 2 years now! :rolleyes1 Poor guy. He will be all fixed up soon though and will be ready for those sea days! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Sorry Dennis is not feeling well. At least he doesn't have log to wait now for his operation.

It's Monday morning here again folks....my weigh in day.....

21 lbs lost in 6 weeks!

:cool1::cool1:

....and dh has lost 28 lb in just 7 weeks!:cool1::cool1:

The hard work at the gym is paying off!:woohoo::woohoo:

Well done to you and well done to Mark!!!:thumbsup2

I like 3/4 length sleeves for that reason!

So funny! At 5'2" I like 3/4 length sleeves because regular length tend to cover my hands :rotfl:. And yes, 3/4 sometimes look like regular length on me :upsidedow.

I only wear a small amount of Shalimar so I hope I do not offend. Shalimar had been my signature fragrance since I was a teenager.

I remember Shalimar; I was an Ambush girl myself (and then they changed the formula...blechhh.)

Were leavin in three weeks from Thursday........... Oh my I better get a movin.......

I was wandering the same thing.......:confused3

Well I do remember we were given a model of the Disney Magic when we added on some points while on board a while ago. At the time I think they were offering something like $10 per point discount.
