The Fourth of July concert was really nice. They always play "The Armed Forces Salute" It is the theme songs for the five armed forces here in the US. I always love that song because it is awe inspiring to see the men and women stand up when their branch of service song is played. What I noticed tonight however was there was not a lot of folks who stood up. I hope that was just because some folks did not attend. There was about 300 folks that attended the concert.

I very much enjoy this song as well. I have it on my ipod, and I live in Canada, sigh....:lovestruc

Pam, glad they all arrived safely, they have already had an adventure with more to come as they help out.

The Kims, love the photo!

Val, that is a post that I e-mailed myself, thank you for the great link on alaskan excursion options.

Loving all the evening gowns, a gown is not in my cruise plans this trip, but I will be bring two nice dresses for those nights.

Thank you for the zazzle code, just ordered my shirts. I was going to make my own again, but decided I didn't want to go through the hassle. Plus, when I do the iron on, they are really only good for 1 or 2 wearings.

PrincessShmoo, the name goes on the back, an example is in the first post.

I was at Disneyland for the premier of At World's End. I did not camp outside Johnny's door, but I did camp out in line for the park at 3:30AM, then on Main Street beginning at 6:30AM. Was up close and personal with Mr Depp, Mr Bloom and many others. Even got Johnny to say hello to my friends back home via my cell phone.

Not sure what I'm doing about formals. I have not tried on my gowns, but I suspect that they no longer fit as I have lost weight. But my mom may be able to take them in to make the passable. If not, I'll start shopping probably next month and I am hoping to drop some more weight before we sail.

If you have a secret to loosing weight when you hit a plateau, please pass it on!!

If you prefer it on the front like Annette Funicello did, you can. No rules really. However, since you asked, I think most of us are putting it on the back, leaving the front for only the graphic. ::MickeyMo Obviously it does make it less crowded if you put it on the backside, but I say do it as you prefer!

I did both that way you know who I am coming and going!

Hey fellow cruisers. It's been a while since I posted. You guys post sooo much!

I don't know if I will still be joining you guys on the TA. We just got word that my uncle who has been fighting cancer for over a year has taken a turn for the worse. And then a few days later we found out that my 7 year old, second cousin (my cancer stricken, uncle's grandson) has Leukemia. We are just devistated, especially for my cousin who has been watching his father struggling with cancer & now his 7 year old was just diagnosed. :sad1: This is gonna be a long road. My immediate reaction was to cancel our trip, but I don't know. I'm going to keep planning. For one thing it will give me something to focus on other than CANCER. And if we do end up going, I don't want to be going crazy last minute trying to figure out what we're doing.

Now that I've sucked the life out of this roll call... The actual reason for this post is I remember a while back a lot of talk about the fuel surcharge refund. I skimmed over all those posts because we booked Jan 8, 2009 & we're booked on DVC points. Well I just logged in to my account & it now states that I will be refunded via onboard credit for the fuel surcharge. My question is how do I know how much that will be?? My resi is on points so I have no clue. I printed out the page that states it for proof if need be.

Thanks guys.

I am very sorry to hear about both your Uncle and your second cousin. My family has been touched by Cancer and know how hard it can be on a family. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I hope you and your family will be able to cruise with us but certainly understand why you may choose to stay home.

Sorry I can't answer the DVC question but I am sure someone else will have an answer.

Update on Mickey Bars from 2010 Baltic thread: (one person's opinion)

Statement: The ice cream bars are just regular ice cream bars (not shaped like Mickey) but they are completely chocolate covered.

Question: Thanks for that, but more importantly......are they good?!?

Answer: No. They suck. They are like a Winn Dixie brand icecream bar. They did not have that really thick chocolate that the Mickey Bars have...just a very thin layer of chocolate. I ordered them once thru room service and never wanted a second.

DS10 will probably eat them anyway, but maybe he will order them with extra chocolate sauce. He is already disappointed with the fact that there are no Mickey Bars. I just have to keep reminding him that we did change a 5 day double dip to a 14 day WBTA!

Pin Update

We have received a quote back from a pin maker. They only make pins in lots of 100 at a cost of $5.10 per pin. If we only make 50, the cost will be higher.
They will be 50mm(1.9 inches?), when we do smaller they will cost less.

Since we only have orders for about 48 pins, does anyone want more pins?

There is still one manufacturer who wants more information from me to give us a quote but I think the price will be about the same. I also get in contact whit a company in the USA the prices are the same and they will do 200.

We also need a higher resolution copy of the logo as the one on line will not work. If we can't find one, we may have to change the pin.

Let me now what you think about it.

Connie

Hi Connie,

I will take two. Thanks for looking into this. Tru

...and we would be calling "Candy Apple? Where are you?", and people would be following us to Goofy's Galley in hopes to find a candy apple! :rotfl2: (Love your screen name, btw! It just a happy, vibrant vision every time I see it!)

Nice visual! I'm glad you like it. My name is Andrea, but until I was 5, my nickname was Candy. I guess when I started kindergarten I gave up my nickname. My favorite uncle's name is Jack. When I was little he called me Candy Apple and I called him Uncle Apple Jack (from the cereal, Apple Jacks, for those of you from other countries). So, I resurrected my nickname from long ago to use as my screen name. I'm glad I decided to use my grown up name when I started kindergarten because I just can't see myself as a "Candy" now. I also don't like to eat candy apples, but I'll take a caramel apple any day!

I hate heels, If I can get away with it I will also be wearing flats, depends on the dress I buy.

I hate heels, also. I always wear flats, regardless of the dress. I have some dressy (for me) suede black flats. Nice thing is that pair of shoes barely takes up any luggage room!

Sadly, the end of a wonderful 3 day weekend. I am just not sure I want to go to work tomorrow.

Did some shopping this weekend. Was in desperate need of new unmentionables. The girls needed a lift. They were starting to become a trip hazard.:lmao: Happened to hit a Talbot store and fell in live with a skirt. Having it shipped to me. Will definately be a cruise item. Had to share how wonderful it is to go into a store and be able to buy clothes off the rack. So used to ordering from a catalog. Think I will wait another month to have my gowns resized. In the process of enjoying my new found self, I also cut my hair off. I took off enough to donate. It is the shortest I have ever worn, but I like it. Everyone says it makes my face look younger. How can that be a bad thing.:worship:

This week I think I am going to use the gift certificate my son gave me for a personal trainer and a month membership to the gym. I want to tone, tone, tone. I am a stressor and when you meet me, you will see where all that cortisal collected. I want to get this gut off:thumbsup2

Well there was to much info !

Back to my regularly scheduled cruise planning.

Still have a couple seats on the private tour in Barcelona if anyone is interested.

Has everyone confirmed with Blandy in Madera? Noel should I wait and see what Davids can do?

I am not sure what you mean about Davids. Is that with respect to the Barcelona tour?

No, I was talking about Madera and I meant Daniel's Taxi. I thought she was checking into a group tour or something?

Have you tried using the space bags where you suck the air out?

Space bags are great! I am bring my large ones so that I have room to bring souvineers home... I have some of the travel ones that you roll up, but the large ones will work without a vaccume as well.

Last year I packed for our cruise in them - it was great!! Of corse we drove, so I was not dealing with weight restrictions... This year I will have to weigh and then go from there...

Sorry to hear you might not join us. BTW, we were told by DVC and DCL that it is $224 but not sure if this is the same for everyone.

I am organizing the group tour on Madeira. Just wondering if found out any more about the Girona and Monseratt tours.
