ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADEIRA TOUR CRUISERS

I have acquired a bit more information on credit card usage and cost of lockers at the Pools in Porto Moniz from Eusébia. I have also posted this addition to the link on post #9 on page one of this thread. Please read the pdf sometime before our cruise so that if you have any questions or concerns, that I can address them with Eusébia.

Email information from Eusébia as follows:

1. Some of our American clients have used their cards here and they didn’t have any problems, so I think your group will be ok too. Yes, most shops accept credit cards.

2. The restaurant will, most probably, make separate bills for each person. They accept credit cards, but Daniel said, as you’re a big group, it’ll be better if you get your Euros beforehand, to speed up the paying process. There are ATMs in Porto Moniz, in case you need them there.

3. I called the Porto Moniz pools right now and they told me they have lockers where you can keep your things, with enough space for your clothes as well. They said every time you open your locker you have to pay 1Euro. Apart from these lockers they also have hangers for clothes and these are free of charge. I presume they have someone supervising these hangers and probably they’ll give you a number, which corresponds to the number on the hanger.

4. For those who have not yet made reservations at Blandy's, I’ll ask Blandy’s if they only accept a limited number of people on their tours, or if they organize other groups once one is full.

No I think you're right! I was thinking it was Sue then remembered someone else saying they didn't mind either or I think this was where my confussion led!

I think that there were several us who volunteered but I think (the operative word here) Sue is the one.

I like this idea.

Would it be easier one master list or would people prefer smaller lists for each group?

So far we seem to be a mixed bunch as to whether we seperate out or not so maybe we need a vote.

I vote for seperate but that's just me lol!

Gismo Sarah, You are a legend for doing the navigator, It is really going to help our first cruise experience and I thank-you. I think mid August is a great time to get it out, it gives us time to correct anything and make changes if needed.

You are already doing so much Sue!

I vote one list. Can you imagine someone who is doing FE, Candy swap, Postcard swap and Secret Mickey having to go around 4 different lists to collect the cabin assignment info. One location for all the info would be better.

OK, I will propose something. What if I make a generic spreadsheet for each person. Every Dis'er will have their own spreadsheet with columns for Dis name, actual names, cabin number, new cabin number and what activity/group it's for. Then they can take that sheet to one location, and fill in the boxes of any new cabin assignments that have been posted on mine or Sue's door. We could have a cut off date, say the end of day 1. If you have not changed cabins, no need to do anything. If you have changed, ring or go to mine or Sue's and notify us of changes. On Day 2 morning the list of changes will be posted on the door with Dis name, old cabin and new cabin numbers.
Does that make sense, what does everyone think. Is this what people were originally thinking and I missed something? I think it would work well.

My vote is for one list.

:cutie:

I love your messages! They're great!

This time in 11 weeks we will probably all be onboard and will be about to go down to the Dis meet at 3

What a lovely thought!:cool1:

LOL glad its not just me! Dan brought some Rice cakes last week that are cheese flavour and it tastes like quavers! I managed to eat the whole packet last night just for that fact! Honest my will power is rubbish!

sorry Sarah, but that did make me laugh!:rotfl2: I bought some caramel rice cakes a while back to stop me wanting chocolate :rolleyes1 needless to say the rice cakes are still in the cupboard and I have managed to eat cakes instead! :confused3

John and I are having an Anniversary weekend so to speak. He came home early last night and we did my favorite thing, dinner and shopping for the cruise. Our favorite place to shop is the Stanford Shopping Center. My DH loves to take pictures of the flowers. Since he only had his phone with him, I will have to have him send me one of the best pics.

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb::surfweb:

Yes, but what did you buy Noel?:thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll do as you recommend and make sure to both reply in the thread and PM with my info when I can.

For anyone still trying to get a pre-cruise room in Barcelona, Disney advised me they do not have any available rooms at the 4 hotels they can place you with. So I tried the one many of you are listed as staying at; the Praktik Rambla. I was only able to book online for the 14th departing the 17th and a phone call to the hotel confirmed I could only get the first 3 nights. However, I sent an e-mail asking to extend through the 18th and they immediately e-mailed me back with a new reservation number with the 4th night. Sure nice to have that worry taken care of.

I booked the last available dinner at sea dining reservation at Palo's but there are openings for the days we are in port.

Off to the Farmer's Market for this weeks vegetables and fruit.

Val

Glad you got your reservations sorted! :thumbsup2

We're Back!!! :dance3: Actually have been home since Thursday noon, but have had company since an hour after we arrived home. All is quiet now.....there is no way I can read all the pages I missed!:surfweb::surfweb:

welcome back!:flower3:

Our company was a nephew and his family that we have not seen for 5 years. They had an RV that we were able to park in our driveway so it really was an easy visit for us. No extra sheets, towels, etc. Just great fun showing them Missoula for a day and sharing good food.

Oregon trip was just a tad hectic, but it was good to see our daughters (both still live there) and a couple of friends. :lovestruc

sounds like a good time!:)

Yes, we won and still have fun about it. Today Germany won also who nows maybe the neighbours in the final?

Soccer is a big sport here in Europe.

Connie

And offcourse i hope we win the worldcup, but you never now:scared:

I'm rooting for The Netherlands too since England is out, Connie :cheer2: Big football fans here!

Lanyardpins whit Cruiselogo

Me and Noel have wrote before of making our one landyardpins. To do this i must now how many people want to buy one, so i can get a price quote.

I have seen that this company has also maked landyards for Disney.

Send me a PM if you have interest in a landyardpin and how many.
And if you have a idea what you want on it let me now, so we can see what the most of us want on it.

There are about 22 people who are intrest in a pin, if anybody likes to have one send me a PM or put in on this board.

On monday i get from two other company's a pricequote.

I think this will be a good desgin for a pin, maybe whitout the cuts. And i don't now if we can put Mickey on it?

Connie

I like this idea, please put us down for one, thank you :flower3:

I went to see Fame, the musical today. Hmmmmm, Wasn't my favourite stage show....

Ok, I read a heap of pages this morning and marked them to reply to but the mutipost seems to be lost. So I will remember what I can, which is barely anything as my brain leaks! :lmao:

Sue, I am so glad Becca didn't have to have another cast on and she has some freedom back, just in time for school to go back, I think?

Woody, I know I wanted to reply to you about something, I just can't remember what? Probably something either very smart or very witty you said. :confused3

Gismo Sarah, You are a legend for doing the navigator, It is really going to help our first cruise experience and I thank-you. I think mid August is a great time to get it out, it gives us time to correct anything and make changes if needed.

Connie, I was going to say Congratulations to the Netherlands for winning the soccer......I think? I'm not good with sport, did I get that right?

WELCOME to the newbies, Did I see a Bev and a Val? And I hope you get the all clear after the eye surgery Bev! :thumbsup2

You are already doing so much Sue, I know you are a 'momma bear' and like to do it, but I am happy to help or take over with this if you'd like? :goodvibes I realise it is probably safer to do it on your door as you have cabin assignment, but I can look after the list and keep track of changes until the week before the cruise date? Or if you have anything else I can help with, gimme a shout! ;)

You two sound like such a gorgeous couple! :lovestruc

I sign in and there are tons of pages - lots of good talking! Why don't we all meet in the Promenade Lounge or Sessions and have a drink and talk about room numbers that way we can do it all at once instead of people running all over the place. Don't forget the room numbers for the scrapbook exchange and the medications! Okay...just my thoughts (stealing Noel's line).

Another sunny day here. We've spent most of it sorting out our garden ready for next weekend when we have lots of friends coming :cool1: (fingers crossed for good weather!)

Just finished a lovely BBQ, a glass of Pimms & lemonade (so English!:thumbsup2) and enjoyed listening to dd singing as she got ready to go out for the evening.......know what? Life is good! :grouphug:

DH and I eat a few Hershey Kisses & Hugs which seems to help.

I guess the question should be what haven't I bought??? All in the name of the cruise!

Sounds like a glorious day!! Barely 12:30 PM here and we are just being lazy, not even up and about yet. Maybe we will have a picnic in the back garden by the pool...

With like 200 families on the cruise list I'm not sure were all gonna remember room changes from the Dis meet or well all fit in lol!

At least you had classy British drink! I've been drinking a bottle of Lambrini I won in a raffle all day lol! The cheapest wine you can imagine but weirdly with this cold it tastes fantastic!

Morning everyone! I have a 20 minute break between girls here at the gym (preparations for fall try outs :cheer2::cheer2: have kicked into high gear...so i'm typically coaching tumbling Monday through thursday from the time I get out of work at 5 pm until 9:30pm and on Saturdays from 8am to at least 4pm---AAAAHHHHH!!!:scared1::scared1:----at least it pays well, though....and subsidizes these crazy vacations I take...even if it does mean I never get to see my poor dear partner!! ;))

Anyhow.....I have been watching the flurry of posts about how we'll know if people in our fish extender group have switched rooms. I'm a little confused by what the final consensus was. Can someone please explain it here (nice and slow...my poor brain is quite addled this summer!! :lmao:)....AND maybe we should post on page one (or two??) in the post about fish extender gropus the details of what to do onboard to learn if there are room switches.

Now that I think of it actually, it would be worth it for me to know that for lanyards, too....although I am 100% certain we won't be moving rooms onboard so what I may do is, if people don't get their lanyards from me at or before the sailaway party and they DO switch rooms from the one on my list, then I'll have people call me at my cabin and just give me their new room number. That is easier.

Welcome back! We all missed you - and we planned a wedding for you guys while you were away...:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think the consensus is that there is 1 room where we all note room changes on the first day - Not sure who;s yet???? Then they will post a list with all the new rooms on it.

I thought Sue Kraft was the one???? Please correct me if I am wrong???
cruisedreaming.gif

Yep - you got it right!!!

No I think you're right! I was thinking it was Sue then remembered someone else saying they didn't mind either or I think this was where my confussion led!

OK - Heres the deal... Hopefully this will stop the confusion...:lmao:

As I have most of the people due tot he FE lists, I have created a master listing of who is doing what. It has DIS name, room number, a spot to list a new room number, and then what all you are doing. Click here to see it.

I will print enough copies for EVERYONE and will also publish a PDF file that people can download. The PDF will be posted here (via link) and the printed copies will be in an envelope in our fish. On the outside of the envelope will be a copy of the list that people can use to make changes if they upgrade, or get moved, or whatever.

The list has FE, Candy Swap, Secret Mickey, Postcards, Scrapbook - and can hold more - just let me kow what I am missing. If you want more details, just let me know what you want listed.

Did I clear it up or make it worse? :confused3

LO!!! Nope we all do it! In fact on our last cruise the people in the room next door were orientating themselves by our room as they couldn't remember their room number either!

Well, I hope that our neighbors don't count on it staying the same for 14 nights!! I have planned, printed, and cut out TONS of magnets so that the kids can re do the door every day - and not repeat a lot! I need to print stickers for the backs so if they wander off maybe we will get them back... Most are personalized, so...

Has anyone else heard of FE's being moved to new homes? I guess I need to bring zip ties?

Well, Hurricane Alex, though no longer in most peoples' minds, created havoc in the area of Mexico where our mover was planning to cross to come into the US. He was stuck in Monterrey, MX for 2 days waiting for the rain to stop and the roads to become visible again, so our move is now totally off kilter.
...
We are surrounded by boxes and we still have a few small things to do. The good thing about packing up - we found about $400 in Disney Gift Cards that we didn't know we had! That will definitely help pay that final bill onboard!

Michael

Sorry to hear that the move got waylaid. Hopefully it is all sorted now! Great news about the gift cards!!

Connie - did you get my PM? I didn't list a preference on the look of the pin - but I like the flags if it can be done! Is there a minimum order that we need to place?

Sue - I don't know if you want to add the medication list to the list of cabin numbers/people. It will be in the mini-navigator though that Sarah will do.

Hi everyone!

Well, it's starting to hot around here. The last couple of days have been in the 70's and just lovely outside. Today, the temps are creeping up and will be in the mid to high 90's for the next couple of days. I'm at my parent's house right now and they are in the process of painting the living room so there is no A/C on right now so the fan is just blowing around hot air. I'm hoping for my sister's sake, they finish up soon so the A/C can go on.

My sister, her friend and I are going to see "Grown Ups" in a little bit. I heard it's very funny so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Two movies in two days is very unusual for me.

Sue - I don't know if you want to add the medication list to the list of cabin numbers/people. It will be in the mini-navigator though that Sarah will do.

Totally up to you - I wasn't sure who all was doing what. If you want it on the list, just send me the details. All I remember was I promised Benadryl - probably more likely to be Claritin as Becca does better with that... Not sure what else I signed up for... I feel like I travel with a pharmacy... :rotfl2:

That sounds like a great idea! Have a wonderful anniversary weekend!

Thank you for your kind sentiments.

I took a shower which inspired DH to do the same. We will be off for the some errands in a bit.

Wish we were sailing.....
