Well, it's been a beautiful day here today. Visited my sister, together with my parents. Sis and I took them out to lunch as a treat, partly for Father's Day.
Then Dad sat at home watching the World Cup match while us girls went shopping :goodvibes

Managed to buy a pair of linen trousers and a lovely dress in a sale.....cost me the princely sum of £7!!!! :cool1: Thats the kind of bargain I like!:thumbsup2

So that's more cruise purchases

I heard back from two Gibralter tour operators today that they were fully booked for Wednesday, Sep 22, the day we are in port. Sounds like DCL may have booked up the good tour guides!!

Both of the operators advised me to find a licensed guide for a taxi tour outside the port!!

Nice day there Mandy, and well done on the shopping!!! Have you had any luck with formal wear?

We are ready to place the order and need payment ASAP.

Shown below by DIS name is what is owed. This includes shipping. We can't order shirts until the finds have been collected - and we sail in 93 days. So we need to act fast (unless someone has about $1500 sitting around and they want to bank roll the screening process! :rotfl2:)!

Shirts can not be ordered withut full payment. Payment will be accepted by PayPal (www.paypal.com). Once on the site, click on SEND MONEY. Funds are being sent to my PayPal account (Well, mine and DH's, but I trust him as long as Harvey isn't around...) Use the to email address: sue.kraft@gmail.com. PLEASE SELECT PERSONAL TRANSFER as there are no fees as long as you use your bank account or PayPal account. If you use a credit card, you will need to pay a fee. (please don't pass the fee to me!!:scared1:)

Once funds are collected the shirts will be ordered. I will update page one with the info here. Please don't delay on this or we may not have shirts in time. as stated above, WE sail in 93 days... TODD sails before us as he is a back to back cruiser. So, we really need to get a move on!!

If there are any questions or concerns, please PM me or email me at sue.kraft@gmail.com.

Thanks everyone!!

Forgot to add... if your DIS name is in RED I will be bringing your shirt to the ship so that you don't have to pay international shipping. The shipping cost listed in to get the shirts packed up and shipped to me.

Sue,

I'm not on the list, but I believe we are getting two shirts--large and x-large. Before we paypal you the money, are we on the list for getting shirts?

Nice day there Mandy, and well done on the shopping!!! Have you had any luck with formal wear?

Not yet Maz, but depending on finances (and fit!) I may well wear one I already have (sssssssh, don't tell anyone it's been seen before ;)):rolleyes1:thumbsup2

With Sunday being the day lots of us will be booking tours and other things on DCL, we are trying to decide if we will use DCL excursions or other options. We would like to tour the island, ride the cable car and the toboggan. We have a tasting at the Blandy's Madeira at 4:30 so we would want to be dropped there.

John and I are considering using Daniel Madeira Taxis for an excursion. Anyone else interested? As you see, the more persons on the tour, the cheaper the tour. DCL tour is $155 per person for same thing.

I have 4 that may be interested....let me talk to them and see and I will let you know

In 2007, several of us (DISers) took a tour with a taxi tour company that was waiting outside the port. I dont remember the cost but it was very reasonable. I believe the van held 6 people. This is what we plan to do again this time.

I have been try to get ride of fuel surcharge since they said they were not going to charge it. I did not have to fight with them the said they would adjust the price to the current price, but the price has always being higher then the fuel surcharge price

I was at the doctor again for my wrist again. I'm still having pain, but now I have swelling in the hand and wrist. The doctor went back and looked at the MRI again. The arm was clear, but the wrist is fuzzy. So I need to get another MRI. It least the person that took my MRI said i was having problems holding still because of the pain, so my doctor prescribe me xanax for the MRI. I still not looking for another MRI. I will let you know the results when i get them.

Stephen
I dont know about human wrists but animal ones have lots and lots of bones and vets hate to look at they xrays.
Im off today to sort stuff out for Centreparks this weekend - hence multiquote is working lol - so will try to keep up to date until tomorrow! Got some DCL stuff to do too - online check in - while I remember!

Bye for now
Enjoy, ps, re blood, I dont even try to give blood anymore, I got a load of tests, I seem fit and healthy but always low hct, one hamatoligist said if you sweat a lot you can have low hct, I really cant mind the why and how but since I am always doing sport I just stuck to that and forgot about it.
Hi everyone :thumbsup2

As you know Sue, Corinna and myself are hosting a Scavenger Hunt for the cruise. I would like to know exactly how many of you would be interested in participating..... so that I can have a rough idea of how many copies to produce.

Could anyone interested in having a go at the Scavenger Hunt please send me a PM or an email ( SarahTony2002@aol.com) if my PM box gets full.
What does it involve?
:rotfl:

We're considering the bolded tours too... making a decision tonight since we can make ressie's this weekend.

OK, I'm working on the photo thing....

Yahoo, here it is!

That is hard. I hear you on the broccoli... and I LIKE broccoli... LOL re the Guiness. If I saw more progress I wouldn't get so discouraged... but the deprivation combined with iffy results... sigh... that gets SO old, SO fast! I could be a little more patient too though...:rolleyes1

cute doggie:thumbsup2

Sue, I will try and make a payment, my cc details were stolen and paypal acc stopped,:headache: watch this space.

I had a horrible day today, beagle girl ran away when we were up the forest, I hung around for an hour then ran home, then dumped beagle boy, grabbed mobile and push bike then started looking for her, I called Len in tears when he came home for lunch and the little witch had taken herself home,
Lucky we live on the edge of the forest with no roads, bloomin beagles, who would have them? thats them on the leads for at least a month!

TUT Mandy!!!!;) I think I might just be wearing a black skirt with a variety of tops. I will add some sparkly jewellery if the tops are a bit plain! I just have such a problem finding any dress to fit/suit, let alone a formal dress.

My 2 lasting memories of my beagle are her ripping wallpaper off the walls and ripping photos, but mostly, running off!!! I am so pleased she turned up as it is so worrying.

When were your CC details stolen Lynne? That is a real pain.

It was a year ago, but 2 months ago there was stuff from parcel force on my acc and again I had to get card cancelled, not sure if its me or mbna but I dont have much luck, first time someone went on a spending spree with amazon..

re beagle, they are all the same, I met a beagle on a beach in Ca, I was petting it, I said to him "do you let her off the lead" he replied "hell no, last time I let her off highway patrol gave her a ride home" :rotfl2:

I'm interested and had Daniel's bookmarked already. My wish list for Madeira is the cable car and toboggan and maybe the market. Haven't given it much thought beyond that.

I do want to end up at Blandys but haven't figured out if I can take my son with me. Does anyone know? I know here in the US he can't take any winery tours but not sure of the European rules. I can always send him back to the ship if I need to.

If we have enough interest in Blandys does someone (no I'm not volunteering) want to look into a private group tour in the late afternoon?

We did the Rock Tour, saw the caves.....he brought us back to town and dropped us off so we could shop. We went from one end to the other and had plenty of time to sightsee, shop and eat. It was about a 20 minute walk back to the ship. I asked Laura and she thinks we paid about $35. We went on the WBTA solo in 2007. This year our DH's will be with us, so we are going to take them on the same tour.

Your itinerary is exactly what I asked for in my email.

I already have ressies for 16:30 but if enough are interested, I would be happy to find out. DD was 16 and was offered wine in Europe so can't imagine he couldn't go. However, you could email Rita Azevedo at the Old Blandy's at pubrel@madeirawinecompany.com and ask for sure.

I think we actually have 3 Lynnes / Lyns :rotfl2:

Ha Ha
I am strictly speaking a Lynette known as Lyn for everyday, and lyn9856 on anything internet wise
Married to a Robert known as Bob or Rob (totally interchangeable)

Hello Ann/Sarah/Lyn etc etc
:rotfl2:

Regards
Lyn
