Congrats

I hope we can get a walking club going once we see what hours people are available on the ship. I also love college football as both my nephews used to play. Congrats on the PIF!!

Your swim with the manatee sound fabulous!!
Walking club sounds like a nice idea. I don't walk as much as I use to but I suspect I'll walk while I'm on board. Actually I walked a lot on all the cruises I did. I even tried a couple of the aerobics classes--they will kick your butt and I don't recommend if your not in good shape, but if you want a good work out go for it.

Todd - what a great story for Mother's Day! One thing for sure - God and Mom will never let you down. Hang in there - enjoy life with Helen to the fullest!:lovestruc

Ahoy mates , Since it is Mothers Day I felt it appropriate to finally come here to the board and tell my story of the last year and why my disappearance for most of it ...First let me say , that without my Mothers help and caring , along with friends and family I may not have made it through this year .

Last June I was hit with my marriage of 15 years was ending , it was a shock and too be honest I wont go into the particulars , but at 41 I was devastated. Of course Mom to the rescue and I couldnt thank her enough , she was there every minute and day, she put her troubles and aliments on the shelf to tend to her son, she gave me hope when I had none and gave me strength when I was weak. She steered me to God and to prayer and eventually everyday became just a bit brighter. It still baffles me to this day that after my 42 years of life my Mom is one of the wisest people I know, she to me is God sent in every meaning of the word and I love her dearly ..

Now almost a year later , Thanks to God , my Mother , My Family and dear Friends, life is grand .. I met a beautiful women who I claim is heaven sent because in my eyes she is .. Her name is Helen and she should be joining Me and my son Destin on this cruise along with her son Sean . On April 27th 2010 after 7 months of dating we made a covenant to each other and God . This cruise will be our delayed Honeymoon as we have lots of particulars we are trying to take care of .... So there you have it ... This Mothers Day mean's soooooooo much to me cause without mine , I may not have weathered the storm... So to my Mom .. I love you endlessly Happy Mothers Day ...

And to all of you , thank you for at least reading ...and now let me share with you pictures of one of the Happiest days of my life ...

I wanted to try some of these, but they were never scheduled at the right time.

Todd,

Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the start of a new journey and blessings to you two. May your compass point to each otherpirate:

Congratulations Todd on your marriage. John and I look forward to meeting Helen on this cruise.

:lmao: sorry, but where did you get that line? was it in potc:rotfl:

Don't think it was actually a line in any of the POTC series. Thought it would be fitting for the Captain, thinking to the compass Jack had. Maybe they will write it into POTC4. If they do I better get credit :cool1:

After i typed that I thoughy, eh, that was a bit cheeky, but I was really LOL.

:goodvibes you guys are brilliant on this thread, we are so lucky to be cruising with such a great bunch of folks.

I hope everyone is having a great Mother's Day. I called my Mother this morning and the first thing she asked me was where I was at. I'm thinking to myself, Hawaii, where eles would I be and than she reminded me that I hadn't talked to her in a while. Oops..:confused3 Time gets away from you before you realize it I guess. Well, at least I didn't totally forget to call. Unfortunately, she probably won't get her Mother's Day card until next week. I was late in mailing it out, and I still have a box to mail out to her. She loves paperback romance novels and I try to mail her a box every few months of books I collect for her. When she lived here I'd post the ones she finished to this paperback swap website I get books from. Its a great way to recycle your old paperbacks and I've actually gotten some pretty good books from there since I'm an avid reader.

Well, "Mommy" needs to go play with her three four legged furr babies: Hershey, Ludie and She-she. They are my "kids". :yay::love:

We joined the

Also on a good or I guess I should say wonderful note. I got the pathology report back from the growth on my pancreas and the report said there was no malignant potential for the cyst. I can not even begin to describe the relief my family and I felt when I read that report. Thank you all for you support through this.

Donna

That's fabulous news, What a relief I bet! :thumbsup2

I had a surprise today ... we have been putting together some new bedroom furniture and this has resulted in me having to have a good sort out of my clothing .... during which I discovered a lovely semi-formal dress from Per Una which I bought in last years sale. I had completely forgotten about it. So thats one less thing to have to buy ..... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Fantastic! That's like when you put an old coat on and find money in the pocket! :cool1:

I'm really almost excited at the prospect of going shopping for some nice clothes, even though realistically it will probably be a big failure!!!:rotfl:

Last time for the PC cruise we left in April, so not many things to choose from by that time, and no way could I find anything remotely 'eveningy' as they all go in the sales after Christmas. At that time I was hoping to lose weight!!! ;)Actually put weight on of course so it would not have been a good idea anyway!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

This time the summer sales will be in full swing, and maybe some dressy items coming into the shops ready for the Christmas party season. One can hope.:rotfl2:

We are now going in to Winter here, so all the Summer stuff has completely gone now. Very frustrating! Hopefully there will be a little bit of Spring / Summer stock coming out just before we leave, Fingers crossed!

You know with this talk about walking I made an observation after spending 2 weeks on the ship and then returning to an "american" hotel in Nashville - it is so easy on the ship to take the stairs - they are right there - encouraging you to take them - when the elevator is taking too long :) but when you are at places in the US like hotels, shopping malls, etc., stairs are like some dirty secret, concrete and metal, behind doors, hidden off in some corner that everyone is scared someone is hiding in ready to attack them. I feel encouraged to take the stairs on the ship (not that I always do) because they are inviting - maybe if all the stairs were not hidden away in the US we might be more encouraged to take them!

Just a few thoughts . . .

Krisann

That is so true!

well, that is WELL cool, I was going to post a picture of dads boat but wont bother now, maybe we could swap for a few weeks, do you fancy a holiday in scotland?lol

All boats are great! My Dad has an old 'chugger' as we call it at the moment and it's just as fun! Your out on the water and that's all that matters.
And, I would love to holiday in Scotland, I have some friends from Scotland that now live here, It sounds so beautiful.
We came to Europe last year for a quick 3 week part business, part pleasure holiday, we only went to Paris, London and out in the English countryside. I would have loved to have gone to Scotland!

I know, I was realy peeved last week, only in emergencys I waited 10 mins on the lift to go to the gym, HOW stupid is that?
I actually said, this is why we take the stairs on the magic.
Anyway gives everybody a thril when len has his kilt on, hahaha only joking
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

By the way, I have to tell you what I did yesterday. I went to the beach, Gulf side and the water was 83 (why isn't it like that at Castaway) anyway, I was swimming, floating, lounging and I saw this huge thing underway coming at me. First I thought, shadow of some kind, second, seaweed and third school of fish. Then i noticed it was quite huge. :scared1:I didn't panic but wasn't breathing and it lifted its head from the water and it was a manatee! I was so excited. I love animals, mammals, etc. so the start of my Mother's Day was fabulous as I swam next to a manatee!!!! Had to share:lovestruc

WOW, That sounds magical! ;)

What a glorious boat!! We love going wine tasting so this will be a fun wedding!! I would have loved you to come shopping with me as I didn't find a single thing!!
Thanks, we love our boat!
You'll have to post some pictures of the wedding, the venue looks gorgeous.
Oh, Nothing at shopping? Try going into shops that you would normally never go into. When I go shopping with my sister she goes into shops I never do, I always find stuff!

DH and I are having a glorious morning working on our trip. He made breakfast for me, served it to me in bed, brought in roses from backyard and now we are both typing on our computers!!

Sounds lovely, Breakfast in bed! I can't wait to have time to have a nosey at your pictures. It's early morning here, Have to take the girls to school.

I must be really weird too because I still sleep with my baby pillow - yes, how many years has that been - too many to mention. I do not find anyone weird that loves their pillow. I am always afraid to take mine anywhere - afraid it will get tossed or lost. I would cry:sad2: You might find this weird, I usually pack a fan to mumble out the sounds at night. I am a super light sleeper and if I go to sleep with the fan, I can sleep through anything. Talking outside my cabin wakes me - I don't think I will be able to take my fan, I might have to leave a few outfits at home just for the fan - did someone say weird????

Have you got an Ipod, You can download an app called 'White noise' which is meant to be great to help you sleep and stay asleep.

I :love: my memory foam pillow and mattress, when I holiday in the uk and can I take it.

Sounds like a perfect day, we hardly EVER have breakfast in bed, mmmmm, just had a thought, maybe get room service breakfast in bed on this cruise for the first time:)

Great Plan, Us too. (DH will have to take kids to kids club and come back).

I would like to see a walking club with the TBA. My thoughts were an early morning walk around the deck, maybe meeting at the Cove Cafe???

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

I'll join!

Thanks for the "White Noise" - I tried, but didn't do the trick as a loud obnoxious fan buzzing in my room! THANK YOU!!!!

Captain - you've had quite a year! Divorce is an ordeal even when it's amicable but devastating when it's a surprise to one. So glad you had the love and support of your family, friends and a obviously wonderful mom to help you through. Best yet, you kept your heart open and Helen walked in. I'm do glad that things have worked out for you and your life has turned around. Can't wait to meet all of you and all our new DIS friends!!

on the walking club - on the EBTA there was a Disney sponsored (led) walking group each morning on sea days - needless to say it was at 9 am - and we are not morning people so we missed it :)

10 am would be a great time if you wanted to do a not too early time - the afternoons are so filled with activities!

I think you are probably right. If we make it informal and the time to be about 10, maybe we would get more to participate.

Just my thoughts...
