Unfortunately that is not correct. We booked the cruise we took last October when they were charging a fuel surcharge. The discontinued this shortly afterwards for new bookings. On the cut off date, the barrel of oil was a few cents above the amount that was specified before we would get our fuel surcharge back. Therefore we did not get anything. Yet, the vast majority of people on board had not paid the fuel surcharge as they booked once it had been stopped.

We were unlucky last October. Like you the price of oil was just above the amount specified, so we didn't get a refund.

Just finished booking our Amtrak tickets to NY and return from Port Canaveral on Southwest. So after getting LIRR tickets to JFK, that's all for our travel arrangements.

We're doing Aer Lingus from JFK to Dublin, Dublin to Barcelona, arriving 9/17. We're at an aiport hotel for the night (Frontier something maybe? The paperwork is at work). We are in the DC area, and I was able to get Amtrak tickets up to NY for less than $100 for the two of us - much cheaper than adding a flight to NY, especially with the baggage fees now. Then SW from Florida home, luckily my parents will pick us up at the port and we can have lunch together before catching a flight.

Now I'm getting worried about my parents on the EB. They are headed from Barcelona to Dublin for several days.

Things are improving volcano wise at the moment. Plans are that airports begin opening tomorrow in Europe with some flights starting tomorrow night and many more on Wednesday. All being well they should be ok for Saturday. We have friends on there too who are flying to London straight away on Saturday so really hoping things don't deteriorate again.

Well have taken advantage of that great perk of having a suite - paying a month before everyone else - probably due to customer demand if the podcasts are anything to believe!

Still at least it feels real now, although thinking about booking a ferry just in case!!

Still can book excursions until 120 days out though.

Feels real now - or at least the credit card bill will feel real with it crashes through the letter box next month.

You can....but why would you miss the ship?

Well all this talk of volcanos and ash has made me wonder how would i get to Barcelona if my flight got canceled. for any reason.

There's no way i'd make it to Barcelona in time but i'm sure i could race to a later port.

From the Disney Cruise Line website:

April 19, 2010

For those Guest traveling April 24, 2010, onboard the Disney Magic sailing from Barcelona, Spain:

We continue to monitor airport closures related to the volcanic activity in Iceland very closely.

The Disney Magic is scheduled to depart as planned.

At this time, we do not anticipate guests who have booked their flights through Disney Cruise Line to be impacted by these airport closures.

Should the situation continue, if needed, our Air/Sea team will work directly with guests who booked their air arrangements with us to re-route or re-schedule flights.

Independent air guests should work directly with their air carrier or travel agent to make modifications to their arrangements if needed and notify us of any changes in their air schedule.

Wouldn't that be the perfect start to our dream trip :rotfl:

Maybe we could stop at McDonalds for breakfast on the way :rotfl2:

SW

Surely there would be a bacon butty caravan in a layby on the way to the port!!! NO need for such luxury as a McD's!!!

Sounds like they'll look after their own clients anyway!

Just checking in!!

Gus and I went to Food & Wine at DCA yesterday and man, are those White Cheddar Cheese Mini Bread Bowls delicious!!!

BTW, the crowds for the final Electrical Parades are insane!! We waited over a hour for a decent spot (about 6 people back) and by the time it started it was at least 40 people deep. :scared1: I couldn't even see where the crowd behind us ended. I do not like! I think we said our good-bye last night because I'm not doing that again anytime soon!

You know, I thought the same thing!

Just checked my bill.. my balance isn't due until 5/19.

I think that they must have a suite..

Those of us in steerage still have a little time!

We may not have got the extra OBC that some got but due to an error by the booking company our TA used we get an extra month before our PIF is due. We don't have to pay till the end of June, our TA stated several times that since it is in writing they can't change it now.

Jon

....check your PM's, please! I just sent you all a PM with some info/details I need as we move forward with lanyards!

For everyone who ordered lanyards, the spreadsheet has now been sent to our fabulous webmasters. There are currently 238 people on the list. Look for a message in the next few days telling you where to go to help me "proofread" it and how to get any needed corrections to me.
