Sept 17, 2009 - Wonder

I'd love for us to get a bit more talkative... It seems like no one else really understands a DCL vacation unless they've been on it (or are on their way to the first one). I'm so tired of hearing how expensive it is!!! You get what you pay for people! (And we have some very dear friends who just hated their cruise on Norweigen because of all of the upcharges!)

Anyway... DD only ever wants to come out of the club when DH and I are - ahem - busy. So this might be a nice change. ;)

Well, I'm in. I have to agree, too. I have had friends on other cruise lines and it really is different. I'm going cheap, mostly because I am not traveling with kids. It is possible to do that. I don't gamble so I don't miss that part at all.

I think a FE would be fun. I know Brigette has done one before on our last cruise together.
Maybe once school is over this thread will get more chatty. I know at the end of the school year we get so busy it is hard to keep up with everything. We are definately looking forward to this cruise. Should be a lot of fun!

Were going to be using our bounce back offer we were on the same cruise as Christy and her family! It will be myself, DH and DS 3 years old. This is going to be laid back cruise for us, we went all out with the last one. I organized the FE exchange group on the last cruise but dont think we will do it again, as it made our luggage so heavy, but may do it again if it turns out to be a small group! I can help organize it again ir give tips on how to do it?
As the cruise date gets closer I think the group will start to get busier.

Has anyone done any excursions before in Nassau? If so how were they?

Hadn't joined before now-Guess I was having trouble really believing that we were really going on a Disney Cruise (our first).
We are a Big Disney Loving Family, we were hoping more family members would get to come but this year's trip looks like it will only be me DM48 and DS28.
We are going to be at DW for FD 9/9-17 (4th yr) and then the cruise.:banana::banana:

We've only been to Nassau once in 4 cruises (what can we say, we like double dips)... We did the stingray excursion and loved it. But we loved it more for the beach break time afterward... DD was only 3 and was scared of the ray's.

This time we're thinking of checking out the atlantis aquarium, or maybe just staying on board...

I really do like the thought of a day just on the ship. There is so much to do there. I also like the idea of the aquarium through. So many decisions...

:confused3

Hi! We will be going on this one too! We are new to the DISboard and didn't even know about it until my brother mentioned it. Second cruise for me and first for my husband and two daughters (15 & 12). We hope to have a blast!

My DH and I will be on this cruise! :thumbsup2

It's our bounceback from our Feb. cruise on the Magic...but this time we'll be going on our own without DD6...mommy and daddy need a little getaway on their own!!

Sorry, all. I have been overwhelmingly wrapped up in the "Land" portion of our trip, I've been neglecting the "cruise" part. To me, the cruise seems like dessert, and I haven't put 1/10 of the effort into it that I have the resort stay. I booked my ADRs, so it's all starting to feel real. Anyone else getting excited?

Becky

my daughter (4) and I will be on this cruise. We are regular visitors to WDW but this is our first Disney cruise. We went on Royal Carib last summer. We will be doing 3 days at WDW before the cruise.

OK GUYS WE ARE NOW AT THE 75 DAY MARK LET'S GET EXCITED:banana::banana::banana:

If I counted correctly there are 16 groups on this thread so far, hopefully we'll be joined by more as time goes on. Anyone interested in a Dis meet :grouphug: or a Fish Extender Exchange:yay:? I'll organize unless someone else wants to.:cheer2:

We would love to be a part of any Dis meet/fish extendering that goes on. We've never done this before so we're totally okay with you organizing. Thanks. :thumbsup2

we will do a meet and probably a fish extender (as long as I can buy one on ebay).

This is our first cruise too. If someone who has done this before wants to be incharge great, if not we'll work together and learn as we go. I see you're cruising with your daughter and I'm going with my son. It's great to have fun kids.

Wow... down to 67 days!

Sorry I haven't been around, I warned you guys I'm bad at this stuff. :rotfl:

As far as a meet goes, we're planning on being up at the bow of the ship to try and see some dolphins as we leave the port (I guess that's around 5pm). W/o the kiddo we're not planning on going to the sailaway party... though, maybe I'll get a package of bubbles to hand out just because it's fun to see kids' faces light up over something so simple. (Yeah, and I like bubbles too!)

I'm torn on the FE thing... I'd like to do it, but I'm pretty sure I'll manage to stress myself out over it before we go.

Guess what I got last night? Palo ressies... at a prime time on Friday night even!!! Looked like there were still LOTS of times available, so if you want them and thought they were all gone....

Meeting at the bow works for us. I would like to be at the Sailaway for a little whille too.

I am thinking my daughter will really get a kick out of the fish extender. Can someone organize this as we have never done it?

Wow... I can't believe how excited I am!

Is anyone planning on doing excursions in Nassau? We can't decide. On the one hand we'd like a day on the ship, on the other the aquarium at Atlantis is calling us...
